As a massive fan of The Chase, I was a little skeptical when I heard a board game was out Turns out I didn't need to worry at all. It's one of the most fun game show adaptations I've ever played. The game comes with a board, used for the main chases and the final chase, an electronic timer, a set of blue questions and a set of red questions, large and small pawn, Chaser tokens, and money tokens. Everything seems quite durable, though it gets a bit jumbled up quite easily. Each player does a Cashbuilder round in turn. The player to their right sets the timer to one minute and then reads the player questions from the blue cards in the same fashion as on the show, 1000 pounds per answer. After every player does this, they take the money token they earned. Each token has a blue side with how much was earned in the Cashbuilder and a red side with two offers on it, one bigger and smaller, you insert the token on your pawn showing however much you picked and place your pawn on the board accordingly. Each player then picks a Chaser, inserts them in the pawn matching the player's color, and places them at the end of the board. The next bit is the same as on the show, except only one player answers questions at a timer and the Chasers' answers are printed on the card. The player who makes it through with the most money plays the final chase. The final chase works like on the show, save for the fact that the finalist picks two of their opponents (unless it's a 3 player game) to work together as the Chaser, but other than that it's just two two minute rounds, the finalist can move the Chaser back on an incorrect answer with the right answer. The game only has two problems I've seen so far. One, the timer has none of the show's music or sound effects which would have improved the game big time, and secondly each player's performance in the Cashbuilder rests on how fast the question reader is. For example, I can get out questions clearly at about the same rate as Mr. Walsh, while my sister constantly stumbles over words, reads the question slowly, and takes too long to confirm the right answer.Other than that, though, the game is massive fun, and having beat Shawn in the main Chase I have to say I'm quite proud of myself.

If you like the chase then this game is for you.It plays just like the game, you have your cash builder round and a timer in which to answer the questions as quickly as you can, you then pick your chaser and review the offers (higher= 1 step closer to the chaser / lower= 1 step closer to home, just like the show!) you then answer your multiple choice questions and the brad impersonator (Q reader) will let you know if your chaser got the question right or wrong. If you get through without being caught you go on to the final chase. There are numbers around the outside of the board for the final chase and the timer is set to the second setting for this.As in the cash builder round you answer as many questions correctly to move around the board. When your time is up it is the turn if your chaser. Another player plays the chaser and answers questions in the same manner, however if the 'chaser' gets a question wrong, you can then push the chaser back, and so on until the time is up.All in all a good game, some questions are difficult, but it's a game and it's all learning for the next time! The only downside I can give it, but it wouldn't be fair to deduct stars for these points, is that some people read rather slowly or have trouble pronouncing key words, resulting in misunderstood questions and more often 1 player only getting a few questions whereas another would get many more! This is all down to the question reader. It is a 3 player game, however my sister and I play it as a 2, I am the card reader for her, she is for me, I am the chaser for her, and vice versa... The only thing is that if you do play as a 2 player, you BOTH need different cards in the final chase, as the player would have the answer to push the chaser back every time otherwise. Still it's good fun and I would highly recommend it! :)

I bought this as a family game for Christmas and I'm pleased to say that it went down very well. The only downside to enjoying it so much is that we're already running out of questions - fingers crossed they'll bring out some extra question packs in the near future!Although the format of the game works pretty well and captures the main aspects of the TV show, we found that a few tweaks to the rules were needed in order to make the game closer to the real thing. For example, the board game timer doesn't allow you to `stop the clock' during the final chase and `push back' the chaser by getting questions correct - so we used a stopwatch instead.Nit-picking aside, I would definitely recommend this game. The description says it's for players aged 8 and over, but I think it's best suited to adults and teenagers - younger players would probably struggle with the questions, which are general knowledge-based.

I have always been a fan of quiz shows, and quiz games - this doesn't disappoint. It follows the same basic format as the TV show (cash builder round, and then a chase), but that is really just a fun way to dress up question and answers. Its easy to understand and start playing too - no digesting lengthy rule books. The questions are at the right level to be challenging, but not too difficult, or too easy - so its a good balance. They cover a wide variety of topics, so its a reasonably level playing field for all. The method of play involves everyone throughout, so no one is left sat on the sidelines. Games only last an hour or so,which feels about right.A lot of fun for four people and a bottle of wine on a winters night!

The Chase is a fantastic quiz show. I enjoy the quiz show immensely. I love the sarcastic comments by quiz geniuses the chasers. Now you can play the game at the comfort at your own with the family or a social gathering. It recreates the quiz environment. The game includes a timer. 3 packs of questions, money tokens, playing pieces and an instruction guide. It is an easy to set up. The game is fun, enjoyable and challenging. The question are not easy at. It is hard beating the quiz geniuses who include the dark destroyer, the governor, beast and sinhaman. Have you got what it takes the chasers? I love playing the game. I am glad to include it my selection of great quiz games.Great fun and enjoyment.

Great fun! My daughter knows I love The Chase and bought it for me for Christmas and the whole family loved playing it and we had loads of laughs playing the different roles. A welcome break from having to play Monopoly over Christmas, which takes so long. great for any family that likes quizzes, the only reason why I did not give it 5 stars was because it is not exactly the same format as on TV and after a while you will need another set of question cards once you have been through all of them and the buzzer timer thing could have been a bit more sophisticated and user friendly but that would have put the price up.

We bought this at Christmas and played it quite a few times. It’s similar to the tv programme and the questions are varied so not too hard but the odd challenge, I’d say the level is spot on for a family game. The reason I only gave it four stars is that the rules are quite complex and after playing the game a couple of times we decided to adapt them. Our new rules made the game smoother, quicker and easier to play. The rules in the box are not only difficult to follow but we thought made the game needlessly longer and less straight forward. All in all it was lots of fun and I am glad that we bought it.

Price is cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else.I really wanted it to be good as I love the chase, it is good but not great.OK game, but difficult to motivate yourself for it as there's no clear winner, there's no incentive for gambling and Winning more money vs. taking less and playing it safe. (similar to deal or no deal if you have played that) I would suggest each player puts in some money (pound each?) then whoever wins the most money during the game takes the cash. This will give you more incentive to do well. And pick your chaser at random, as the dark destroyer is not too clever!

Bought this as an early Christmas present for my mum who loves watching the chase but made the mistake of showing the box to my 3 year old autistic son who is obsessed with the chase! Now he goes everywhere with the box, infact he won't let it go! He holds onto it for most of the day, The box sits on the table throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner and even goes to bed hugging it!Looks like my mum won't be getting this for her Christmas present!I haven't opened the box but am giving this 5 stars just for making my son happy! :)

This board game follows the concept of the TV show very closely, unlike some other licensed products (The Pointless Board Game). There are a lot of small, individual parts that need to be popped out of their cards when playing for the first time, but this is a one time only thing. The instructions could have been a bit clearer about how the buzzer operates, especially in the final round when the timer needs to be paused for an incorrect answer, but apart from that a great addition to games night.

We played this lots over Christmas. It's a great family game and had all ages fully engaged - youngest player was 10 and oldest was 75! We had lots of laughs and debates over answers. Easy to play if you know how the TV show works... it took a bit more explaining to those that hadn't watched the show, but they soon got the hang of it. We also played the 'final chase' section of the game separately as a standalone game using two teams, and even that worked.

The game was good for Christmas day (or any gathering) where there are plenty of people to join in. We managed to pair the younger with the older children to play and adults alone. If you like The Chaser then this is for you. Plenty of questions and what we did is NOT say the correct one if it was wrong in the cash builder, but told them at the end, so as not to waste time. There is a timer and the pressure is on but I guess it can be played without.

apart from the small text on the question cards we found this an enjoyable game to play, unlike other revue's we did not take 45 minutes to set the game up then give up as the instructions in the box were quite clear,as for the question's my 10 year old answered many correctly so can't understand why others are complaining that they could not answer a single question,do not be put off by the negative revue's

We have enjoyed watching the programme and testing our selves so when I knew there was a board game I decided to buy it and we throughly enjoy it and now the last couple of Sundays when we have people round for dinner we have switched off the tv and played it and it has been great fun and it asks such a good variety of questions to suit any age so everyone can join in.

9.10.2019

Directions could be clearer, but we still played it nonetheless. The questions on the red cards were so small to read that a pair of reading glasses or a magnifying glass would be useful. Rather than put questions and answers in yellow font on a red background, a white font on a black or navy blue background would have been much better. As much fun as the programme.
