Got these as a Christmas present for my daughter, who’s an avid PS4 fan and, dare I say it, for me to borrow when playing Call of Duty. They arrived in a nicely branded and presented box, with the PS4 logo showing that they were endorsed by Sony. Who, I can only assume, signed off on these as it’s their brand? Opening the box, you’re presented with a really cool looking set of black, quite angular, set of headphones, with the HyperX logo stamp on the outside of each earpiece.Pop them out and they are quite light, weighing in at just 275g and come with a 1.7m(5ft) cable. This has a standard, gold plated, 3.5mm plug, which you can connect direct to the PS4, controller, your PC or any other device with a 3.5mm jack. For me, the cable could do with being a bit longer. The earpieces are nicely padded and generally comfortable to wear. You get adjustable sliders on each side, so you can size to fit. On the bottom of the right earpiece there’s the slider to control the volume.90-degree rotation of the noise-cancelling mic enables you to move out of the way when not in use and, when lifted up, it automatically mutes the sound for you. So, no need to worry about conversations being overheard when you don’t want them to be.Sound quality is good for the value, but bear in mind that these only cost £34.73, so they’re never going to be great. I found them to have quite a lot of Bass and less on the detail side - mid-range was ok. These are not good for music, but then this is a gaming headset. For the price, my daughter got good sound, sharp styling and Sony’s endorsement. One happy gamer.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative and useful. Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

The first thing I want to mention is that, this headset can be used on a variety of different devices - despite being branded an "Official PS4 licensed Headset", it can still be used on other devices such as an Xbox and PC. This has a 3.5mm plug so will work on any device that has the 3.5mm port. This headset is quite comfortable to wear - it is adjustable so can be used by both children and adults - regardless of head size. The earcups are made from leather and are nicely padded so they do not hurt your ears, especially after long periods of use.The microphone is actually really good. I love the way it works - if the microphone is up, then it is muted but if the microphone is down,it is un-muted and allows sound from your side to be heard which is nice. The volume control is a slider on the earcup which means you can control the volume quickly and is very accessible. The sound is quite loud which is perfect for gaming. I can hear a multitude of sounds through this headset, from hearing footsteps in FPS games to hearing more of the ambient sounds in open world games. If you want to reduce the volume, it is just as easy to do as increasing it!Overall, definitely a great headset. Sound quality is brilliant, they are lightweight and most importantly, very simple to use.If this was helpful, please tap that helpful button below - Cheers!

I have a large egghead, and so wearing over ear headphones is generally a deeply uncomfortable experience when gaming. I’ve tried out so many premium brands, and they all gave me a headache within an hour of wearing them.I am gushing over these though. Soft, comfortable and easily adjustable. Also surprisingly well made given the relatively low price tag - relative to what I would normally spend on a pair. I’ll be using these for as long as they keep making them. For sound quality, I never really like talking about that, as I’ve found that perception to be entirely subjective (unless you’re a pro sound engineer or something). But from my experience, the sound is deeply immersive and good enough for a stereo/surround experience.Other little touches such as the flip-to-mute mic, handy little volume controls on the headphone, and the DJ style 90-degree turning cups (so they rest flat on your chest when the band is round your neck) are great, and make this a must buy for anyone wanting great headphones for under £50 (and has a large egghead…).

The HyperX HX-HSCSS-BK/EM Cloud Stinger headset is another addition to the arsenal of headsets for Sony’s PS4. The difference with this one is that is has been officially endorsed by Sony.First impressions look good. There’s no garish LED lighting, the cable is 1.7 metres long and the headset is lightweight. The headband offers a good level of adjustment. In use, the Stinger headset has quite a lot of low end grunt for decent mid-range and top end. Its presentation isn’t subtle (for that you need to go way up the price range) but for gaming it’s pretty good. The ear pieces are made out of leather is unusual at this price as they are normally soft squidgy plastic. This adds to the comfort for extended periods. The microphone is pretty exceptional – other online gamers could hear me very clearly. Not many headsets at this price manage to pull this off.For the price, the HyperX HX-HSCSS-BK/EM Cloud Stinger headset is a fine addition to the PS4. I highly recommend it if you want quality but don’t have to pay over the odds for the privilege.

The headphones come fitted a 3.5mm jacks, the single jack will connect straight to a PS4 controller.I have the headphones connected to a PS4 via the 3.5mm jack on the controllerThe headphones are a good size, they're very light in weight, good ear coverage, you’d not know you had them on, there that light, the headband is soft and comfortable.Build is good, they do feel a little plastic, but I think because there very light, it gives the impression there isn’t much to them, but there very good, the ear pads move easy, the microphone can be moved out of the way, and they also lie flat it not over your ears. They have a good solid sound, I liked them a lot, the bass is excellent, the mid levels were very immersive, all good sound levels. The microphone works great, the speech was clear no issues at all, those on the receiving end thought the audio excellent, no hiss or issues.A great price for a great pair of gaming headphones, worked very well with the PS4

I've used HyperX before, I own a pair of Cloud II's so my immediate though is cost-benefit for gamers when it comes to HyperX.The Cloud Stinger PS4 isn't just for the playstation, this headset can be used on PC, PS4 and Xbox, they work well on all of them. The sorround-sound is half decent but i won't knock this headset off completely, it's features are great and the controls work fine. The microphone can be muted by raising the microphone up and back down again to enable, making sure your teammates don't have to hear what you don't want them to.The headset has padding on the ear cups and the head band are fine, but like most headsets, it gets uncomforatble after a while. The poylmer is durable and can take a bit of a beating,so the overall matieral isn't cheap and the headset feels great quality.Overall this headset is great for gaming enthusiasts at a low cost, you'd be stupid not to pick this headset up, if given the chance.

These are pretty good value mid level gaming headphones. I wasn't expecting to be blown away but in fairness the overall sound quality I thought was really good especially at the price point. If I had to be really critical I would say they are possibly a little bit too bass heavy but that may be down to personal preference of the individual. The swivel to mute mike function is very easy and straightforward to ensure that you don't get caught out when playing life and also the construction and fit of the headphones means that when you do swivel make the headphones stay where you expect whereas a lot of cheap headphones each time you move the mike you will need to re-adjust the headphones tomake them comfortable.I can see why they are officially licensed product but I might be tempted to buy a more expensive pair of hyper headphones personally to try and improve a little bit on the sound.

A popular brand and an official PlayStation product. If your looking for proper kit this is the way to go.They are easy to use just plug into the PS4 controller. Also works on my pc.They feel well made, a little plastic but this is due to them being lightweight. Comfortable to wear and due to being adjustable do not crush your head.Other player can hear me clearly using the mic and I can hear them. Easily playing with the sound in the headphones as you can hear small noises such as footsteps easier. My favourite feature is the mic, as by lifting it upwards it switches it off. Brilliant when your having a private conversation and can easily turn the mic off. There is a click as it hits the position where it’s switched off so it’s easy to tell.Overall a good reasonably priced set of official gaming headphones

This has to be one of the best budget gaming headsets I've used. First of all it is officially licenced by PlayStation so you know it will work, next you also get a 2 year guarantee. The sound quality is excellent, the noise cancelling actually works really well in excluding all external noises. The comfort of the headset is also extremely good. It is lightweight and has a good loose fit while still staying secure on your head. The memory foam on the ear cups is very gentle on your ears. All this allows you to use the headset for prolonged periods of time without any ear pain or neck strain. Microphone also crystal clear.Overall for a budget head set this is a fantastic product.

This headset is as you would expect, plug and play. Its reproduction is reasonable, not outstanding, but ok for the price. Comfort is good, the padded earpieces do a good job of blotting out extraneous sound. there is an on board volume control very easy to operate on the rear of the rhs earpiece. Moving the microphone up mutes your voice. I had no problems with this at all, either on a pc or ps4. I would have preferred a slightly longer flex for those times when I just want to plug to a pc rather than a headset, but its ok, does the job

I use them with a PC and they're comfortable to wear for a couple of hours. The lead is long enough to let me stand up but just a tad short to reach my printer. But I prefer wired headphones as cordless get lost around the house. The volume switch is a bit difficult to control if you want a low sound. It seems to be sound or nothing.Other than that, they're a good set and I've been using them for about three months now with no issues. They are "gamey" in looks and the sound is good. At £50, they seem competitively priced.

Although advertised and Branded as PS4 Headphones, these will also work with a laptop or phone etc, as long as it has a normal phono headphone socket. For £34 bearing in mind the are a licences headset they are very decent both build and sound quality. The MIC slides up and down and is super flexible, the only downside is to is being so “rubbery” is that you cannot bend to adjust the distance away from your mouth, as it always springs back to its default position.Overall for the price, I am very pleased with it.

28.12.2019

These look and feel like a budget headset which makes me wonder about their durability. They connect easily to yur PS4 controller using the 3.5mm jack and they work just as well on the Xbox One controller. The earpads are comfortable and don't compress ears too much, but they will make them sweaty with prolonged use. Sound quality is acceptable, a little heavy on the bass, and the mic does a reasonable job of picking up your voice with little distortion or background noise.

got this for my teenage son was so impressed also bought another for my other one.So my son (15) had this for his PS4 and he is really happy with the look and also the performance. My other son (14) now has one also but he is using his for his PC, which I was surprised to realise works on that also.Super impressed with the quality of these headsets they are brilliant.especially compared to previous headsets we have used.would recommend these.

16.12.2020

For £50 I wasn’t expecting too much, but it does have a good sound quality. Plug straight into your controller, so no charging required. Mic is nice and clear, so my cod gang say & I can hear them nice and clear too! Just the one volume slider for both game & voice, which is the only negative I have really, suppose you only get what you pay for. Feel really comfortable for all nighters lol, so I would recommend.
