I'm English so the fact that this only comes with a U.S layout is a shame. It doesn't stop me from changing it to UK layout in system settings though. Works a treat.I'm an old-time BZFlag player, for those who don't know it's an old advanced tank FPS game from the 90s. I need everything to fit under my fingers perfectly with an extremely high demand for the fastest response time available allowing me to dodge and kill my enemies at ease. These red switches help especially when the bullet velocity and super flag weapons have been set blindingly quick, I can move in a blink of an eye with this keyboard and it's not just the red switches. Not too much bling, good lighting that doesn't dazzle you, good quality keycaps, I have seen better, but these basically fit the rest of the keyboard's build quality. Not the best, but definitely not the worst and will last nearly as long as you want them to. This keyboard has never let me down and never distracted me once.In regards to the people saying the backplate is flimsy, they're wrong. I gently smashed it over my knee and it didn't flex. Also, anything thicker than what it has would be a little weird. The join between the plate and the plastic bottom shell makes a smooth transition and you wouldn't notice that the rest is plastic until you tap on it. Accustics are nice too.If you're the person that wants the keycaps to feel like the steering wheel of a Bently then don't bother. If you're looking for a sturdy keyboard that will last and has easily replaceable keycaps and possibly something that's portable, you might like this.If you're looking for a cheap tenkeyless keyboard and are eying this one but it's a little out of your price range then save the extra twenty pounds. Especially if you aren't picky. If you're like me, looking for something that literally does what it says on the tin, practical, and does what it says to more than what I initially expected from it, it's a great keyboard. Glad I didn't buy the Bloody I was going to.Makes a nice change from Corsair keyboards. Not that I have an issue with them since I've only owned a K30. The worst piece of plastic I ever set eyes on after less than a year's use. This though.. I've had it coming to three times longer now and it's still good as new.

This is the best mechanical keyboard I've ever used. More information below:Absolutely amazing for everything. Gaming, typing, portability, appearance & feel. The keycaps are extremely comfortable and smooth and pleasant to the touch. Regarding the switches - a lot of people say that Cherry MX Blues can be a detriment to your gaming experience, but that's absolutely not true - it all falls down to personal preference. I much prefer blues over the reds, which are generally branded as the "best gaming switch". The keyboard legs are extremely strong & sturdy - something that my previous 4 mechanical keyboards have lacked even though they were much more expensive. It'll take a lot of effort to break or damage them. The larger keys are a little bit wobbly (space bar, shift etc.) but it's nothing too noticeable. If the keycaps were a little sturdier, I would have absolutely nothing bad to say about the board. It's not a complaint, but I think that making the keys a little less wobbly would make the board a solid 11/10. They're not extremely loose, a lot of people wouldn't notice it. I would just personally like the keys, especially the space bar, to move around less. The length of the detachable cable is extremely generous and the quality of the cable is exceptional. The board is incredibly well-built and feels very tanky, but it's not too heavy. The design is sleek, and the font is very nice too. If you're looking for a mechanical keyboard, I can not recommend this one enough. I've owned 5 of them and used plenty of others, and this one is by far my favourite so far. It doesn't have any pretentious, intrusive "gaming" gimmicks either - therefore I'll be buying another one for work. Thanks HyperX for making such a good keyboard!

I personally think that as the first mechanical keyboard I have ever purchased, I have been spoilt rotten for quality, functionality and portability. This ticks all of the necessary boxes I needed for a keyboard. When you first receive the keyboard, it is as simple as lacing the wires somewhere, plugging one end into the keyboard, and the other into the computer. After that, it works like a charm. You may need to make changes to your keyboard language if you're originally from the UK, but that takes around 3 minutes to do if you're an experienced Windows User. The only downside which is incredibly, incredibly minor, would be that there is no UK layout available to buy with the Pro Version /TKL Version of the keyboard. This is no disadvantage whatsoever, as you can just get used to the US layout in about 2 days of constant usage, if you're used to a UK layout. Switching between the two by using different keyboards is extremely easy for myself. The keyboard sacrifices nothing for extra space and keeps all of the key features of your gaming keyboard there. It is incredibly easy to toggle the backlighting on and off, and taking keys out is incredibly easy, as it is replacing them or just putting them back in.The feedback with the keys feels great with the Red switches, I have yet to try the Brown or Blue switches. If you're looking for a good sounding keyboard with no sacrifices for quality, functionality or portability, this is what you want. Although it is a hefty price tag for some, I feel this keyboard is worth every penny. Will definitely be buying more HyperX products in the future.

So this is the first review I've ever done on Amazon as I really felt that this product warranted it.By far it's the best keyboard I have ever purchased. In the past I've always used membrane keyboards, but more recently I wanted to try out a mechanical one as I'd heard good things about them. I know this is incredibly geeky, but I also love the sound mechanical keyboards make when you're typing. This thing feels and sounds beautiful. It's lovely to type and game with. The light features are also a nice touch. Although I don't think I'll be changing from the standard back-lit keys, it's still nice to show other people what it can do. I also really like the fact that there's no driver download/install required,it's quite literally plug in and play.I only have a few gripes with this, as you can see though this hasn't changed my 5 star score. The first is the fact that this product didn't offer a UK layout version, I found myself struggling to find a few keys where I'd normally expect to find them. It wasn't enough to put me off buying the product though. The only other gripe I have is that I'm really struggling with the enter key, it's much smaller and is slightly differently placed than my previous keyboard, so that's going to take some getting used to as well. Obviously they couldn't have avoided this as the keyboard is just the right size in my opinion.

The first, and most important thing to note: This is a US layout keyboard. There are UK layout versions available – if you want this keyboard but need a UK layout then go find that keyboard! This is an 87-key Cherry MX mechanical keyboard. The benefit of this over “normal” keyboards is that each key has its own individual switch, which can be incredibly important if you’re a gamer and you need to ensure the keyboard registers every key touch. It also produces a satisfying “click” with every key typed. In terms of mechanical keyboards the “clicks” aren’t that loud, and I like them. The keyboard itself is small and compact – it takes up very little space on the desk.It achieves this by foregoing the standard numpad at the right of the keyboard. This is obviously a trade-off, but I don’t really miss it.The keyboard has red backlit keys with dynamic lighting effects. You can choose a number of different settings for the backlight (e.g. on/off, WASD/1234 lit up etc.) on the keyboard itself (FN + right or left arrow) which is a touch. I personally have it on the setting that the individual key lights up when touched.Overall, it is a sturdy and sleek keyboard that I would recommend (just make sure if you want a US layout keyboard)!

This is a great TKL keyboard and it boasts excellent build quality. It’s hefty and solid. The solid red per-key LEDs are ideal, and have a few modes. As an aside - Red is the only RGB colour I used on my previous RGB KB, anyway. If you’re of the same ilk, then save some cash and get this over it’s successor. The Cherry MX Red linear keys can take a little getting used to if you are used to a keyboard with some kind of tactile feedback; such as membrane (like me). Do not expect any resistance before a key press has been registered. For example: If you type soft, or slowly, enough, you can literally type silently.Overall, it doesn’t have that horrible mushy feeling you get with a membrane, but also doesn’t have that loud, audible *clack* you get from other mechanical keys. This KB can be used for typing and gaming, but you just need to be careful about resting your fingers on the keys. The U.S layout isn’t an issue. Inserting a, ‘£’ sign takes a Shift-Alt key press to switch to a U.K. Layout in Windows. Problem solved.Either way, if you’re in the market for a solid-built TKL keyboard with red LEDs then buy this, right now.

I've used this keyboard for about a week now and I have yet to find a single fault with it,The keyboard base is made from stolid steel and has a nice weight to it. The base also has the usual two legs, allowing you have the keyboard be slightly raised. The USB cable can also be detached from both ends making it easy to move the keyboards position or moving it off the desk completely if you have a small/compact desk such as myself. The keys themselves have a nice resistance to them, I'd say in they are in medium in tension and reasonably spaced apart. The led back-lighting is also really good and has a few different modes, including WASD, wave, fade in and out, constantly on and constantly off.The back-lighting also has various brightness levels too.The cable of the keyboard is also very well made and is very durable as it is braided too. It has a nice red and black design making it easy to identifying the cable in your cable tidy or on the back of your PC,The sound of your key clicks are very loud, which I personally really like :)Highly recommend it!5/5( Click “Helpful” if this helped ^__^ )

First impressions are that it feels well made, compact and has a lot of useful features. This is my first time using Cherry Red Switches and I can see why everyone loves them so much! I used to have Green Clicky Switches on my Blackwidow but that died a few weeks back, they were really nice but were kind of annoying after a few years. These Reds feel really soft and smooth. The features are all I need on a keyboard as I don't bother with Macros. I love the Media control keys which I can Pause/Play/Skip songs on a playlist on the fly without opening Spotify, Volume and Mute system sounds on the fly too and also Game Mode which helps prevent accidental Windows Key during games. The LEDs are nice and bright but I only ever have them on the second brightness setting so it's not too distracting. There are also 6 light configurations too which is really cool(Check out the video I uploaded).Overall I'm really happy with it and paying £61 (RRP £86) is pretty close to a bargain when it comes to peripherals these days. This is also my first HyperX product and I love it, even after just 30 minutes of usage.

This keyboard has a real satisfying feedback mechanism. For a mechanical keyboard the keys depress smoothly without feeling clicky. The keyboard is compact and feels well made with a good weight so it doesn't feel like cheap plastic. The top facing fascia has a metal finish, giving it a more premium feel. Be aware that this is US layout keyboard, despite this I still have all the keys I need besides the pound symbol. It comes with a quality woven USB connection cable in the same theme colour as the LED backlight which is a real bright red. One of my favourite features is the multitude of LED backlight modes with the ability to adjust brightness. There are 6 LED modes in total, off, solid, slow blinking, trigger where individual keys are lit up after being pressed, trigger where the light will radiate from the key that has been pressed, wave pattern and custom so you can choose which keys to light up. A good gaming feature is the ability to switch off the Windows key to avoid accidental interruption. Overall the keyboard is a pleasure to use and the choice of lighting patterns is fun.

Brought this keyboard into a Mac room with other Mac membrane keyboards and it was noticeably louder in comparison. The quality is perfect, no damage on arrival. Controls are straight forward and works immediately on plugging in. Multiple lightning settings. Only available in US layout so don't forget to change your keyboard settings to US.This is an incredible experience for gaming. Feels satisfying to play rhythm games and any others due to the fast response times, non-tactile feel and high sensitivity. For typing, the most common complaint is the high sensitivity as slight touches can register a key press accidentally. I have had this experience in the beginning and had a higher rate of typos but after adjusting on this keyboard,it can be a joy to type. There's no trouble in pressing backspace and there really isn't any reason to leave your fingers on the keyboard unless you are pressing something. For slower or less experienced and picky typists that cannot find the backspace immediately, don't buy this.

I'm not really sure how this is an FPS Pro gaming keyboard. It's just a regular tenkeyless keyboard with some LEDs, but it is actually a good keyboard. The detachable braided cable is nice and has been reliable. The key caps are nothing special, but haven't started to get shiney, dull or worn after a couple of months of use. The actual build quality of the keyboard feels great. It's a nice hefty chunk of steel and I have had no issues with quality. The mechanical key switches are what you expect from Cherry, no issues with them at all.One issue I've had with the keyboard is that sometimes the software controlling the LEDs glitches out and the keyboard needs resetting, but this is actually a pretty rare occurrence since I don't really mess around with all the different LED settings. Other owners have reported that their keys also stop responding, but I think I've only had this issue whilst using the keyboard on macOS, and was easily fixed by resetting the keyboard with two buttons.

So at first glance this looks like all the keys from a keyboard with all the casing removed, which is not a bad thing, makes for a compact and easy to carry unit, which is also relatively easy to clean. Key travel is positive without being excessive, and relatively quiet compared to some of its gaming cousins in the Optomechanical stable.I only had two issues with this keyboard, firstly it was a US keyboard layout, which is fine for gaming, but becomes an issue when you want to do other things with is. Maybe ok if this is the only keyboard you use as you do become used to it, but if you switch between machines or use a laptop, the difference becomes annoying. The second was the lack of a numeric keypad.Again not really an issue in terms of gaming, but when working generally I'm used to reverting to the numeric keypad for some operations and found myself reaching for keys that just weren't there.Overall a great keyboard, but I think next time I'd try harder to get a UK layout.

Some ConsI do think that the distance of travel could be a little shorter as well as the angle position of the keyboard itself could be more so that I can touch type a little easier. Also, the keys are surprisingly close together making it difficult if you have larger fingers. Some Pros.Other than that, they are in fact true mechanical red cherry MX switches so if that’s your bag this is a great choice at the price point. The colour is fantastic making it very easy to see in the dark. (if you don’t touch type) and although it isn’t RGB it is a very pleasant colour to behold. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to feel the actually weight of the device there is no way you are pushing this off yourdesk coming in probably around the 1KG mark its defiantly not something you put in your back to take on the go.would recommend to anyone looking to switch to a mechanical keyboard at a reasonable price.Matt.

Upgrading from a membrane keyboard to mechanical for the first time, this keyboard works an absolute dream. I wouldn't call myself a keyboard enthusiast, but there's definitely a reason that Cherry MX Reds are so popular, particularly with gamers. It feels great for pretty much everything that I use it for on a daily basis, sounds great (though if your walls are thin the keys might be a tad too loud for your liking) and the full-metal frame gives the entire keyboard a super sturdy feel with zero flex.My only complaint is the forced red colour across the keyboard (if you're looking for any colour other than that, I would recommend looking for an RGB variant) but if red is your theme, this will look great with your setup. Each key is individually lit with customizable brightness to some extent through the board itself, but I personally find myself having every key on full brightness anyways.

A fine quality keyboard - not just for gaming. This is made of high quality brushed aluminium (not plastic) and is somewhat narrower than a standard PC keyboard as it deletes the number pad (on the right hand side) that goes back to the old pre-Windows MS-DOS days and is unnecessary for gaming (or most regular keyboard uses).I used this for regular PC use (connected it to my laptop) and found it superb with great key feedback. I lent it to a young gaming friend and then I couldn't get it back! He reported that it was 'the best he had used', so that seems to be a good recommendation. Most importantly for me, the construction standards seem excellent - always a good sign for longevity.
