I never thought I'd see the day this controller returned and with some new quality of life adjustments adding some small RB and LB bumpers that are on the less intrussive side but not a replacement for a controller that requires exstensive comftable use of those shoulder buttons. It's exactly how I remember it, I much prefer the slanted thinner closer together XYAB buttons, your thumb nicely rests in the centre and all 4 can be pressed without even moving the thumb of a button if necessary. The right aim thumbstick is more rounded than your standard xbox one and 360 controller which allows the middle of your thumb to rest on it more comftably for myself and the left has a nice large dip to restthe edge of your thumb.Pros-The shoulder buttons are a nice addition and don't intrude the original design.-As you remember it feels near identical and it's very nostalgic-It's different but not an inferior layout and I find the contorller fits well in the hand despite being described as too large. My hands are actually quite small and they still fit well to the controller.-I find it also allows more ease of use when quickly pressing multiple buttons quicklu on the right side of the controller.Cons-The LB/RB shoulder buttons won't be as comftable for more modern games which use them extensivley.-Although better than the connector for the xbox one controllers, it still feels a bit flimsy and I find myself disconnecting the controller from the wire regularly when it is not in use. The ldent and larger head to the cable prevent disconnections whilst being used which something which the xbox one controller suffered a lot from.-No option for Wireless support

I absolutely love the hyperkin Duke controller, I had the original Duke on my original xbox years ago and it took a few hours of Gears to get used to it again but now absolutely love it!!! For some of us gamers bigger is better (helps I have major nostalgia obviously).I love that it's wired, I've never cared for wireless having to worry about batteries etc so I'm totally cool with the wire. The little screen in the middle is very cool and in fact is so cool that it feels a bit under utilised, I wouldn't have minded an original xbox boot up sound or something or for the screen to be used in some other way on top of the xbox logo, but they could also have not bothered so it's still very welcome. The new bumper buttons were odd at first but now I active reload just like I did on the stock controller. Now for my one and only complaint... and it's the same as I have with every xbox one controller... The thumbsticks GHOST!!! After a while the thumbsticks on all xbox one controllers begin to go in a direction in the game whether you're pushing the stick or not!!! This is my second hyperkin duke controller and my fourth xbox one controller total and every single one eventually after a few months of use begin to ghost... This never happened with my 360 controllers or even the original xbox controllers... but something about the xbox one thumbstick components means they all begin to ghost with a few months use.Apart from that the controller is excellent and I highly recommend it, especially if you have some nostalgia for the original xbox.

I never had the original duke with my old Xbox instead had the shrunken down version which was still a comfy controller so this is quite new to me.Yes the stories are true, this controller is BIG. Unless you have broad hands your going to struggle using it, if however your hands are on the bigger side you’ll love this pad. It’s so comfortable to use and no less accurate than the official Xbox one controller. All the buttons feel really nice and I find I never use the implemented Lb Rb buttons unless I have to, I just rely on the old white and black. Triggers feel great and the whole pad feels very well made.I love the home button, with every press you get the old Xbox boot animation.Great touch and looks awesome in the dark.Any bad points? Well the smaller Xbox controller moved the white black buttons to below the Y X A B, on this controller they’re above and sometimes whilst playing a fast game like ninja gaiden I’ll accidentally hit the white button. I can now see why they did it.A fantastic controller which has become my go to.

All in all its a fantastic controller, very comfortable to use, I have not experienced any kind of cramp while using it for long durations unlike the smaller original controller that comes standard with the Xbox one. it has now become the only controller I use.Very good quality and sturdier than the normal Xbox one controller (no bumpers falling out), the screen is a nice resolution and the animation is smooth.Better to use a stereo headset with it as it plays all sounds through the headset (game and party volume)The only problem is the USB cable can bend at the connection causing the controller to turn off. However, this issue is easily solved with a small dab of hot glue to permanently connect the cable to the controller. This makes it more like the original as it doesn't have a removable cable. After using the Duke for a good number of weeks the normal controller feels rather odd and small to hold.I do have big hands so it suits me well.

Got this just for the nostalgia, but now it's become my go to Xbox controller. I never owned an original Xbox myself, but whenever I visited my cousins as a kid I would play Halo CE and 2 with the original Duke.Feels much, much nicer than my Xbox One controller (not an S). The animated start up logo is sublime and the additional bumper buttons are an excellent addition. The white and black buttons are not remappable, they just function the same as LB and RB. And unfortunately the controller isn't exactly plug-and-play on PC, I had to force Windows to install the Xbox controller driver for the device. Also worth noting is that the first unit I was sent came with a dodgy cable, and once that stopped working none of my other Micro USB cables would fit into the recessed port. And if you have very small hands this may be too big to be comfortable for you, especially if you like to use a claw grip.

the tight size of the standard controllers hurt my wrists, this form factor lets me play until my fingers stop working - a vast improvement :pbumper position is a bit odd, right button orientation seems rotated in a little but will likely get used to it, overall - love it!UPDATE Oct 2018: Amazon took return for refund, ordered another and all good nowUPDATE Sept 2018: right trigger now sticks when held in, Amazon only had a 1mth return window, Hyperkin warranty registration says US only and excludes products not registered with Hyperkin for warranty within 2 weeks of purchase which must contravene UK consumer legislation. Awaiting results of product registration so can submit product RMA and expecting a UK returns address.Down to 4 stars from 5, watch this space.

Loved the old Dukes on the 1st Xbox, but was a bit sceptical that this would match the old ones. Well was very surprised. A proper controller, had some Xbox ones creak after days, this one looks like you beat a dozen donkeys to death then clean up on COD. The thumb sticks are brilliant, I'm finding better accuracy on FPS games. The bumper buttons are a stretch, on the usual they're just above the triggers, these are forward and higher. Took about 3 days, but used to them now. The centre X is now a LCD screen, with a nice start up animation, but has no other uses. One thing, if you turn your Xbox on, the controller does a quick vibrate so don't rest it on a hard surface. Cannot fault this so far though,my best controller and expect it to last and last.

UPDATE: Got a new controller, works perfectly, got my refund, everything's great! Switching to 5 stars :)One day after I got my controller I noticed my character was constantly moving forwards, then I noticed pulling the left stick down has no to barely any input. No amount of jiggling the stick has solved the issue & am now looking to get a refund. I might get myself another one in the hopes it works as intended, if it does I'll update my review to 5 stars.

As someone with overly large man hands, gaming with a controller is always a challenge. Even as a wee little boy, I had hands larger than most adults, so this controller fit them perfectly.Being able to use this on my pc for games which suit a controller over mouse and keyboard is always a blessing, as I don't need to struggle with those dainty little modern controllers made for baby hands101/10 will recommend to other freakishly large handed people

I'll be honest I bought this as a collectable. The duke was never a comfortable controller and this new Xbox One version isn't any better. The built-in screen showing the original Xbox One boot up screen is a nice - if wildly unnecessary - touch though. If you liked the original duke controller you'll love this. However, if like everyone else you didn't enjoy holding a small car while play games of Halo, this controller will not change your mind.

Feels good man.Big hands, retro feel, responsive buttons. The only downside is the position of the AXYB buttons, I was used to playing with my buttons on a slight angle on these they are almost completely vertical, so there is an adjustment period required. Other than the fact it must be plugged in to work I don't think there are many cons to this bad boy, especially if you are a boomer that loves all things 'back in the day'

I've tried to use the old Duke as long as possible, but finally after Windows Vista, the alpha drivers stopped working. So I bought the wired xbox360 controller. It just wasn't the same. Now with the Hyperkin Duke, I can have the perfect controller for me back. And I'm very happy about it.No complaints so far, it feels exactly the same way. Responsiveness is good too. As is the tactile feedback on all the buttons.

I always knew it'd be a novelty. It's not something you'd use in a serious competitive game.My major gripe is that on my particular controller, the centre LED screen is ever so slightly wonky. It's only about a millimeter out but you can tell its crooked and it's extremely irritating. The joystick buttons are also a lot less satisfying to press than the original Duke. Much cheaper feeling.Yeah not bad.

25.4.2019

It just feels so good in your hands. Wish all controllers had a 'man size' option. This classic isn't really for the serious shooters but great for casual games, a back up and a must have, part of your collection.Lost one star because the old style "borg green" conection cable is replaced with the modern looking USB cable which doesn't have the breakaway link. Nit picky, I know

Comfortable, a solid construction with modern features such as shoulder switches. The oled display in the centre is a cheeky delight although i would like to see this being customizable.Honestly theres not much else i can say, its the best xbox controller i have ever had the delight of using and it appears to be adorned with delightfully accurate xbox pro type sticks.
