The AHS bars provide the benefit (shared with "butterfly" bars) of having multiple hand positions but have the advantage of removable ends which makes it easy for fitting the controls onto the straightish part of the bars (I also fit some ergonomic grips on this section of the bars). The angle of the ends can be adjusted to suit personal preference.These handlebars are 54cm wide (measured over the outside edges). This is significantly narrower than straight(ish) handlebars but still wider than drop handlebars. The disadvantage of the reduced width is less space for the controls. I discovered the hard way that the levers on Shimano trigger shifters intrude into the hand space (see photo)
