I lost many hours researching before choosing my first fitness/smartwatch. that was very hard work- watching endless youtube video reviews and reading many customer comments on Amazon. I don't think there is a perfect fitness/smartwatch. battery life, HR accuracy, app/website support, ability to store music on the watch..are just a few of the areas that cause me a lot of difficulty in making a decision. I wish I could have just gone into several shops to see and physically handle these watches but that did not seem possible.Anyway, I was looking for a watch to help me become more aware of my fitness overall and to help me achieve a personal goal of successfully completing a marathon.my first attempt at a Marathon was the Munich marathon Oct 2019. I trained for 14 weeks, mainly using the Nike + app. Everything seemed to be going well, but in the few weeks before, what is known as 'The Tapering period'. I went out for what should have been alight 4-mile run and something pulled in my right calf muscle. that was 10 days before the marathon. I could not move for the next few days and in the end, I gambled on resting every day until I felt better. I did not run again until the day of the marathon. I had put too much effort to walk away from the marathon and so I went along and tried my best. everything fine until km 5 and then the pain started-by km 37 I had to pull out. I don't want this to happen again.I am hoping a watch that helps me track my runs and gives advice on recovery time and my general heart rate and fitness level (VO2 max) will help me avoid overtraining. and also sleep tracking is interesting to me. I have not been very well with a case of non-bacterial prostatitis and that means for me, I don't sleep well- waking several times each night..So I thought a fitness/smartwatch might help me run a marathon successfully and become more aware of my overall fitness and for some insight into my sleeping patterns. these were the main reasons behind my search for a fitness-based smart watch.I short listed the following watches on a budget of up to £150-200:Polar Vantage MGarmin Forerunner 735XT (According to the '5k runner' website, this is a superior running watch to the FR235)Huawei GT2Amazfit StratosOn paper, the best watch for me was the Garmin. Polar's reviews showed the heart rate accuracy was still not accurate- (I don't know if that is still true as there has been a recent firmware update to address this). but then again, the Garmin watch did not really look like a watch that I wanted to wear all day and night- The Amazfit Stratos watch was a really nice looking sports watch, but reviews showed that the app (nice but very basic) and user interface of the watch was awkward and there was as a seemingly ill fitting battery charger, so that did not feel like the right choice. The Samsung watch had everything I could dream of finding in a watch but a battery that lasts 1-3 days. No sir. not for me. Then there was the Huawei GT2. and that seemed to me, anyway, a beautiful watch, one I would love to wear all the time. But my reading on this subject, made me think of all the running features that I woudl not see in this watch and that left me unsure and a little down hearted. I could not find the perfect watch.. But this paerticular one, had really left a strong impression on me; looks, battery, all round features..Logic told me that the Garmin Forerunner 735XT with its long battery life, excellent running tracking and the ability to create a training plan was the watch for me.But my heart told me to go for the Huawei GT2- for its beautiful design- a watch I would want to wear all day and night, it had a great battery life (up to 14 days) and plays music from the watch..even answer a phone call and hold a conversation from the watch!! (Beam me up scotty!!) And it also have some run training plans and good screen display for running, so not all bad. But yes, my heart won this one..So, I chose the Huawei GT2I am now 5 days into owning this watch. It really is beautiful to look at- it is a very sleek looking, black sports watch. The display on starting the watch up is stylish. I feel like a child again with a brand new toy- I am always playing around with the watch faces and settings and just enjoying the experience of wearing this. Of course, I have lots of watches. What will happen to them?? oh, I did not think of that. I'll find a time to wear them, I am sure..But on wearing the watch, I have to say it is very comfortable to wear. the strap is very soft on the skin. so wearing this at night, is not a problem at all.On battery- The watch arrived with 75% battery. that was used up by two firmware updates and 2 days use- riding a bike to work 30 mins there, 30 mins back. I have left all features on including digital time display- as opposed to a blank watch face after use until you 'raise to wake'.I decided to charge the watch up to full-on Friday AM. It is now Sunday. in that time, I have gone out for a few 4-5 mile runs and bike rides of up to an hour and have changed the settings to watch can time out display after 15 secs and then raise to wake-experimenting with this, to see what battery life I get with my typical usage. I hope to go back to an always on display as this is my preference. My battery level is down to 65%...That is the point of marketing though, isn't it? ‘14 days’ in big print but caveats in small print. And I hate these youtube review videos where people say things like-’yes this watch will last up to 2 days!!’.. but if you only if you switch some of the features off, turn the lights run down and this and not that and so on. This is nonsense. if you have to hold back on using the watch for its full intended purpose then what is the point? The point is to appeal to a target audience and entice you to make the purchase. marketers are perhaps not the most honest people.Anyway, Fitness features- I have not done much with the watch yet but it looks like this thing can track everything...I can think of including the obvious running (indoors and out), walking, cycling (indoors and out), swimming (Pool and open water), but theres also hiking and climbing as well as a ‘Triathlon’ mode and then 'other'.I train with my bodyweight (thanks to discovering the likes of the Kavadlo brothers on youtube and the excellent 'Convict conditioning e-books by Paul Wade) at home or at the park- pull ups/push ups, bridges, leg raises, squats etc. so this workout goes down as an 'other' workout and that is fine for me. I am really just happy to have some insight on how active I am in the day, so steps taken and active minutes and calories burned etc. This information is wonderful, to me. And this watch certainly does a great job.For the running- you can set a goal for each run you do ie:Distance or timeyou can set reminder intervals ie per mile- I like this feature.you can also set a pace reminder thing- where you have a visual display of two runners; one representing you and the other your goal pace.then when ready to go, follow the prompt and press the centre of the watch face to acquire the GPS (this has been within 5-10 secs each time-cycling or running) and away you go.The reminders can be spoken to you to tell you your pace, your distance and heart rate- I like this feature. but you can switch this off- not mid run but once you have experienced it, you can see if you like it or not and then for the next time- set the run guidance as you like ie reminders off. once you do this, that setting will remain that way..I also really like the heart rate zones that show up. I can see, as I run, that I go straight past warm up to aerobic and then extreme. that has helped me to learn something about the pace I run with, on what should be gentle runs. either, I am running too fast (hmmm. I’m not) ok then I am not as fit as I thought..(Oh dear, that must be it).so, the watch has helped me gain insight here'Raise to wake' display for running or cycling- works great. no problem at all. very reliableAfter running, the display shows you stats- distance covered, average cadence even, estimated stride length, your average pace. there are decent graphs (on both the watch and the app), there is a VO2 estimate at the end of this display- (you scroll down the screen of your watch- its all very intuitive) and a recovery estimate (Mine said- ‘Stop. Just dont..’ not really, bad joke). Apparently, my VO2 score is 45- I dont think that is bad for 44 years old, I am happy and I will keep going and do my best to improve.Oh, the watch automatically syncs to the Huawei health app on my phone (not normally any delays with that, but in the rare cases there were, i might be waiting a few seconds, nothing substantial) - It is really nice to look at the overview of my day and week so far. and another point, the graphs like pace, cadence, altitude etc, they can all be overlaid to help you see how for example, pace or cadence changed with altitude. It seems interesting for a little glance, but I am not studying it in any way. But, then again, I’m not that smart. maybe you will be able to better interpret the data and there is some to look at.the sleep tracking feature is fun to look at in the morning. I can see how well or not (emphasis on not) I have slept; how many times I woke up, the time I spent in each stage of sleep awake, REM, light and deep sleep. I wake a lot. I know that. but I was pleasantly surprised to see that I still manage to get a good amount of time in ‘deep sleep’. this insight has been another really interesting feature, for me.Music- well, on the youtube videos, transferring music from your phone to your watch without the pc (I have a Chromebook), all looks easy enough to do. but it isn't. But it can be done.you follow the prompts on your Huawei health app- to add music to your watch. then folders showing you the available music totransfer, will appear- but for me, only Viber voice message recordings and some other voice recordings, which I had stored on the phone, while using a voice recorder app showed up as available. My music from google play even though purchased and downloaded to my phone for offline listening DID NOT appear in this list and as such, was not available for transferring. this is disappointing. But the watch, as the other watches, I considered, DOES offer the ability to control the music played from the phone, like a remote. And I am happy with that. I like listening to music as I run and ride (mainly on paths- I like some background noise to distract me from how long this is all taking..come on!!!).I might have to persuade my wife to let me use her computer to transfer music from an external hard drive, we have somewhere, which has music on it and give this a go because the idea of running without a running belt and phone is quite exciting, to me, anyway :)So, that's as much as I can say right now. the watch is beautiful and attracts admiring glances from people. It is very comfortable to wear. It has good fitness tracking features for running, overall health and fitness as far as cardio health is concerned anyway. Battery life appears decent and to be running at around 12% or per day, so with my usage (I guess 8-9 days use) but I am still learning and tweaking settings to get the most of this area. I am still learning. But, I don't think there is a perfect watch and there has be a point at which you just 'take the plunge' and make a decision- no you do it your way I am just sharing how I went about this. The watch is not perfect, but for a first fitness/smart watch- (These companies really should make that distinction clearer, if they werent all too busy pretending to be all things to all people, like a game of ‘hungry, hungry hippos’, there are fitness watches with some smart features and smart watches with some fitness features. But this area should be further clarified)Anyway, from me to you, as a first fitness/smart watch, you could really do a lot worse(Oh and music can be downloaded from Google play but it is a little tricky. I woudl select songs or playlists from google play (on my chromebook) and then select Download. then the music would appear in my google drive. from there, I can select the MP3 versions of any song (they might not all show up this way) and transfer to, yes another place and that for me, on my moto g7 phone was a 'Files app'. once I moved the music there, then I could go back into the Huawei health app, then to the Device page, select 'Add music' and then suddenly, a list of songs appear, all available to transfer. But then, then you have to transfer the darn songs and that... that takes time, over WIFI. but once it is done. it is done and you can run, phone free and with GPS.. it is worth the struggle :) all best

This is my review of the huawei watch gt2, after about 8 months of use.Overall highly recommended.ProsGreat battery lifeGood range of facesPlenty of functionsComfortable to wearConsGPS trackingAverage appAverage sleep trackingThis is a great watch. I didn't want a super smart watch as I don't care about using the watch instead of the phone and I didn't want a running watch either. Main reason for it was the amazing battery life. Well what to say about it, its amazing and so convenient to not have to charge for 2 weeks. (I have seen reviews mention this is not true. I can only assume that they either have the 42mm version, or that they have the watch face in some always on mode.I can honestly say i get the full weeks with 6x30 minute runs in that time and smart heart measurement)The watch is very comfortable to wear, which was quite a surprise as I have super small wrists and I was not used to wearing a watch. You can barely feel it, despite the large size. And given it's waterproof, I have had it on for the last 8 months, without ever taking it off. Well apart from 2ish hours it takes to charge, every two weeks. It's also quite robust and shows no signs of wear and tear, although I haven't deliberately attempted to damage it.The watch does many things quite well. It has quite a number of interesting faces, so you will definitely find one that works for you.In terms of functions, the watch will show you notifications for selected apps, say texts, WhatsApp, emails etc where you can also read the subject (but not reply) by swiping up.Pressing the menu button you get the rest of the functions. As of July 2020 these are: workout data, heart rate, SpO2, general activity, sleep, stress, breathing exercises, call log, contacts, music (yes, it can play music or control your phone's music app of choice), barometer, compass, weather (for today), stopwatch, timer, alarm, flashlight and find phone (assuming the watch is connected)Talking about the main functions, sleep tracking is OK. I find it will record me as sleeping if I'm in bed and staying still. But in general, it's OK and helpful in comparative terms.Exercise includes a variety of modes with some training programmes as well. Records a number of metrics, depending on type of exercise (distance, elevation, heart rate, cadence, vo2 max etc) My main issue is the GPS accuracy which is dire. 2-3% off in terms of distance is over 100m off in a 5k race which makes the watch useless for actual pace tracking. It works comparatively, but that's not helpful if you seriously want to use it for running. Not sure if it's a hardware or a software issue, or maybe a map issue. The watch syncs with the huawei health app which shows you all of the information you can see on the watch and more. Also shows trends of all the metrics over time. The app overall is OK, a bit basic in terms of design, but quite rich in content and hopefully will improve.

I've only just received the watch so I cannot as of yet comment on its performance. However, I immediately found that I could not get the watch to work with my Android phone. This was initially frustrating. Fortunately I'm quite tech savvy, so I searched out Huawei's website and managed to get everything working.Upon receipt of the watch, I placed it on charge and followed the on screen instruction to download the Huawei health app.Of course, I went straight into the Google play store (I'm using a Google Pixel 3xl Android device) and downloaded the required application.Upon opening the app I was greeted with a message that I need Huawei mobile services version 4.0 or higher. So,I went back into the play store and downloaded the mobile services program.Everything should now be working. It isn't.The health app still won't load, and I need it to get the watch up and running. The reviews in Google play are all set at 1 star. Rightly complaining that the app will not work.So I headed to the internet and found a legitimate Huawei website. From here I was able to download Huawei appgallery and from within here I was able to download the current, up to date versions of the health app and mobile services.Everything is now working as it should be.This however, should not have taken all the to and fro-ing. I have to assume that Google play are no longer supporting any Huawei software which would go inline with American "we think we own the world" policy, whereby all Huawei products are essentially banned. Their loss I guess. By extension the rest of the world suffers because of the idiotic orange man's insecurities.Anyway, to get it all to work on Android you will need to allow the installation of applications from unknown sources (the request should pop up automatically when you first try to install appgallery from your chosen internet browser). You will then once again need to allow the installation of applications from the appgallery source, this to should pop up when you first try to install the health app from within appgallery.Once these permissions have been granted you will be able to install and update the required software to have your nice new watch running. The following is the link to the UK suited website from Huawei to get the appgallery installed.NOTE: Always make sure that you are only downloading applications from the correct sources. Do not automatically use the first things that pop up from a Google search as they may be hacked versions of applications containing malware. The link provided will go to the correct application but the onus is still on you to ensure that you do not download any malicious software. To download Huawei appgallery and get started follow this link:https://consumer.huawei.com/uk/campaign/appgallery/#

The second it goes on that wrist of yours your magmatism to potential mates increases 10 fold. Your abbs and but, immediately tighten up to that of a 21 yr old russian gymnast. Women will hunt you as prey and men with good jobs and excellent genes will buy you dinner (experiences may vary)This watch can make calls, display notifications from e-mails as well as WhatsApp and texts, track you to within a 3000 fig grid ref. Has tracking for boring sports like walking & lawn bowls as well as cool ones like parkour & knife fighting. This shizz is serious son. It even connects with Apple phones if you've not made the switch to Mandroid yet.Don't get me started on the 2 week battery life off a single charge if you use it as a normal watch. If you use it for constant GPS tracking and heart rate monitoring you'll get a week easy. The watch straps are as interchangeable as my wives and it's waterproof down to 50 meters where as a grandfather clock is not, so it's a win there. One downside is that there is a limited number of watch faces to choose from as this is not wear OS, so you're stuck with the standard faces, like I'm stuck with a mortgage and an air fix addiction. But still more choice than a regular watch, so stop crying. This watch comes with 2GB of usable internal storage for music which will pair with ear buds easily. But if you hate other people in your space then disconnect the ear buds and play all your AQUA albums at full volume on the internal speaker, it's deliciously loud. This is more of a fitness tracker than a smart watch. It won't connect to WiFi & download a billion watch faces or allow you to fill it with pointless apps that you don't use on your phone, so why put them on your wrist. It won't interpret your dreams about your mum throwing cats into custard nor will it reply when you say "hey Google, why's my belly button fluff green?" It just does what it says on the tin.If you like it, get it. If you want hundreds of other features that you won't use then glue a tablet to your arm like the rest of the herd.**Update**, the latest firmware update for the watch GT2 now comes with all the workouts and watch faces the watch GT2e has, so now the choice is very simple. Choose the watch GT2 and mate with ease, or choose the watch GT2e and make TikTok videos of yourself licking gym equipment while calling everyone you meet Bro!You're welcome. Some Admin points:If you haven't got a Huawei phone you will need to download the Huawei app gallery, then install the Huawei Health App and Huawei core app. Until Trump stops his trouser snake measuring contest with Huawei you can't get the most up to date apps from the Google play store, you must get them from Huawei directly. Just search the internet and you'll find them.

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review.Upon receiving the watch I was really impressed by the traditional look and feel of the watch. I've owned the Samsung Gear Sport in the past and was always a bit embarrassed by the look of it and the Watch GT2 couldn't be more different, it's could easily pass as a high quality mechanical or quartz watch. The quality is superb, heavy enough to feel expensive but light enough to be comfortable. The screen is a delight, fantastic at making your skeuomorphic watch face seem real. The watch has a number of useful features that use more than I thought I would. The watch torch for example is weak but nonetheless useful. The calling function works far better than expected, the speaker is loud and clear and I've had no complaints on the other end of the line. Notifications aren't perfect, if you have constant Whatsapp messages from a group they are often grouped so you cannot see the content but on the whole the GT2 does a good job of notifying you of a message, email etc. Since taking delivery of the watch my phone hasn't made a noise, the vibration of the watch is excellent. It's particularly nice not to wake up to an annoying alarm tone. The fitness tracking of the GT2 is impressive and the detailed statistics provided are useful for judging progress. My only criticism is that workouts are not automatically tracked but It soon became muscle memory to push the lower button and select a workout at the beginning of a workout session. GPS tracking has proved accurate and always locks on within a few seconds.Sleep tracking is fantastic and really highlighted my need to go to bed earlier. The Health app does a good job of gamifying getting a good night's rest by scoring your sleep. Naps are also tracked but with barely any detail, it simply tells you the duration and that's all.The most impressive and useful thing about the GT2 is it's endurance. It goes on and on! I find myself charging the watch weekly just so I don't forget that it needs charging by this point it usually has around 30% remaining. Coming from a mechanical Swiss watch battery life was a real worry for me, with the Watch GT2 this is a non-issue.I don't think there is a better smartwatch for someone coming from a traditional quartz or mechanical watch. The watch will look the part, the battery will last longer than a holiday and the features will impress.

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. The Huawei Watch GT2 comes in attractive packaging. On unboxing it struck me as a quality bit of kit. The bevelled glass that curves down to meet the case is very nicely done. It's very easy to get it up and running, simply download the Huawei Health app, connect via bluetooth and away you go.I've been using the watch for a while now, wearing it almost constantly, including in the shower. There are no marks on the face or case and the strap is holding up very well.I was worried the watch would be too big for me as I have quite small wrists. It is bigger than any other watch I've worn previously although it is quite light so doesn't feel as cumbersome as you might expect.I would still prefer it to be slightly smaller but it's perfectly comfortable as it is.I am incredibly impressed with the battery life of this watch. My main issue with other smartwatches I've tried is that you have to take them off every night to charge for the following day. This is inconvenient and also makes things like sleep tracking harder to get any value out of. There is no such worry with this watch! I don't know how they've managed it but I wore it for almost 2 weeks before my first recharge. I find this quite amazing since it's always tracking your heart rate and monitoring steps.Notifications work well although I would like to be able to reply to messages direct from the watch. Taking phone calls on the watch works perfectly. I've always been able to hear the caller easily and nobody has noticed I've not been taking the call on my phone.I've found the weather function useful and the heart rate, activity tracking and sleep tracking have made me pay more attention to trying to be active and sleep better.I don't have an Android phone so can't listen to music and I believe there is slightly more customisation available to Android users but they aren't things I particularly miss. The main feature I would like that's missing is NFC for payments which can be useful although it's not a major omission.I think strictly speaking the Watch GT2 is more of an activity tracker than a full blown smartwatch but for me its more than adequate and better than any other smartwatch I've tried. I'd thoroughly recommend it!

I bought this for my husband who had previously had 'smart' watches, ranging from Sony (at the mid-range end) to cheap Chinese versions. He had principally used them for step counts and social and other media alerts. Having experienced these devices, he wanted to go slightly higher end and was impressed with reviews he had read about battery life on the GT2. As he has small wrists, he opted for this (the 42mm) version of the GT2, rather than the larger one. He would have preferred the larger version, for its better overall looks and functionality, but all in all, he was after comfort (the Sony for instance being far too large and uncomfortable). He has had the watch now for two months and usesit in conjunction with the Huawei Health app on his Huawei P30.Good points: the long battery life; comfort, smart sleek appearance; ultra-clear screen; GPS tracking; wide range of overall fitness options and stats recording; heart-rate (extremely accurate); the ability to change the watch strap; Bluetooth connectivity and range; stable connectivity.Bad points: the majority of watch faces have a typically 'tacky' Chinese look about them and there are not that many he likes (the default one is probably the best). Note: The Huawei app has already been updated several times and watch faces are always being added, so in time, he hopes more 'classy' watch-faces will be introduced; there is no ability in the app to say when sleep period starts and ends (it is either 'on' or 'off') and if he settles down for the night to watch TV, the watch thinks he has gone to sleep due to no activity! It clearly also cannot determine if he is awake but still but this is the same as most smart watches? So, this results in the watch recording more 'awake' periods i.e.when he goes to bed and this distorts his sleep quality stats; alerts vibration is weak (even when set to high); no mic/speaker.If considering this watch do consider the 46mm version as it does offer more functionality (such as the ability to use the watch to receive calls). Overall, my husband is very happy with his watch. The app is stable and reliable when used in conjunction with his Huawei phone. He only wishes he has bigger wrists so he could use the 46mm version.

I've started running again recently so wanted to track my progress, I immediately thought about a fitbit. Started looking at smart watches and just spent ages. Ended up a choice, I thought, between the versa 2 and Garmin vivosmart 4. Then I spotted this. I stayed to looking at the Samsung Galaxy watch but rejected quickly based on battery life, then this watch was suggested, and I have a Huawei P30 Pro phone (which is awesome by the way) so thought I'd take a look... the smaller (gt 42) size is good for me as I have a pretty normal size wrist for a bloke, so this watch doesn't look overly big (it doesn't look like a big smart watch) it is also very thin, no bigger than my existing mechanical watch.Screen is beautiful and clear with vibrant colours (loads of watch faces to choose from well) The GPS works fine, sleep measuring is good too.. Heartbeat and VO2 max all good .. You can set running targets and can see stats and hear from a coach as you run, so you know how well you're doing vs those targets... Everything works fine.. Loaded up 130 mps3 to listen to so don't need my phone with me when running, just Bluetooth to my earbuds... Annoying that it doesnt yet sync to Strava (although I understand this is being worked on).. The Huawei health app on my phone is great.. Lots of info so you can compare the same run pretty easily and see progress. Would be nice to be able to directly sync Amazon music, but no great hardship to copy across a load of tracks. All my social media alerts come across fine (and you can pick which ones you want to be notified of) Charging is really quick and the battery life is impressive.. Easy 4 - 5 days and that's with GPS use every day when walking and running on alternate days.My experience watching endless reviews and reading spec sheets is that there is compromise on every device. Be sure on what features you must have and what you'd like to have etc.. Then you can prioritise and compare. For me, battery life, having GPS and size were very important. This has been one of the most impressive pieces of tech I have bought for some years... And I do like my tech. Ps.. The price is also amazing given the spec

This is a great watch. I have used this watch for a month now and I'm very impressed. Battery life is brilliant, you could easily get a week or more depending on how you use it. This watch is not a smartphone on your wrist! You can cancel calls but cannot answer them. You can read notifications from any apps you choose to connect to the watch and you can read messages and emails, however, you cannot reply. Personally I like it this way, I do not want to talk to a watch and I do not want to type texts on a watch! There is no web browsing on this watch either, which I am also not bothered about. Smart watches that have all of these functions do not have as good battery life as this watch!I have used it in pools and showers with no issues and it still works perfectly in these environments. Also, I have a very heavy and dusty job and have worn it every day at work with no issues. I am a cyclist and can say that this watch is brilliant on rides. It gives you a lot of detailed information during the ride and GPS is very accurate. It also uses hardly any battery during a ride, which I love! Unfortunately it does not sync with Strava, which is the only downside for me but the Huawei health app is very good and gives you some good info and detailed mapping. I have faith in Huawei though and hope that in future they shall sync with Strava! Sleep tracking is very interesting and gives you a lot of info on the health app about your sleep patterns. The heath app is great and has loads of info via reports and achievements. There are watch faces being added regularly so there are plenty of designs to choose from, I have included some pics of some of my faves. Apparently there is talk of even more and possibly a watch face store, so watch this space. Currently there is no payment option on the watch. I highly recommend this watch. It has excellent battery life, a lovely display and pairs with a very detailed and informative app. I may even get the Huawei scales next! Please hit like if this review helped you with purchasing the watch! Thanks!

Absolutely amazing! If you're thinking about getting a new smart watch and you want fantastic battery life, this is the one for you.The watch is so intuitive how everything is set out. All too often, smart watches can be quite confusing or have too many options. This GT 2 is, in my opinion, just perfect. There are dozens of watch faces to customise it and several more available to download. The charger is so small and plugs into any usb-c cable, then magnetised onto the bottom of the watch. It also charges reasonably quickly. The functions of the watch are great, with lots of different workout choices and exercises. It gets a GPS fix really quick and, from my basic testing, the signal and tracking is good. This works great connected to my Motorola G7 Power. Notifications come through instantly and the heart rate monitor works flawlessly, giving a good, accurate reading. 2 updates were available when I checked; adding sPo2 measurement, which seems to flash the red LEDs underneath, as opposed to the green that do the heart rate. The orange strap is actually quite a tasteful colour. I was worried it would be garishly bright, however it's far from it. I'm really glad I picked the orange over black.I've only had the watch a brief time, so will update my review in the future if I have and interesting observations on use.My only complaint is the lack of partner sharing with Strava, although there seem to be alternative ways to upload your workouts. Hopefully there will be full integration in the future. Until then, the included app for Android is perfect for my needs. It's set out nice and easy to use. I love it! With Strava integration,my life would be complete!Update: 3 weeks on a dI love this watch more than ever. The battery lasts amazingly and, once you figure out how to put your own custom faces on,you can really make it your own. Still no sign of a Strava update, however it should only be a matter of time.

received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased reviewFirst impressionsWOW I have to say I’m impressed with how premium the Watch GT2 looks, everything from the packaging and presentation to wearing it. I’ve even had heads turning in the office questioning what it is.Look and feelThe 3D glass doesn’t have a single mark on it and isn’t the fingerprint magnet I was expecting it to be. I’ve also managed to unintentionally catch the watch on various objects with no marks or scratches to show. The display is bright and punchy even in the winter sun its extremely easy to read and navigate. On first wear the Watch GT2 felt large, this is because I went from a fitness band to this but got used to it quickly.A week of using the Watch GT2 and wouldn’t ever go back to the fitness bandFeatures and FunctionalityThe watch menus are extremely easy to navigate as the watch screen is fast and responsive, It took no longer than a couple of minutes to feel familiar with the watchThe sleep tracking is an amazing function on the Watch GT2, the amount of detail you get is unbelievable giving you information on deep, light and rem sleepBattery life is one of the best on any smart watch I have ever used. After 5 days use I still have 72% remaining, with other watches I would start feeling anxious about charging it by now…Sports and fitness modes are in abundance, you have everything from hiking to triathlons so far, I’ve only used this whist spinning and the amount of information is excellent and extremely useful to me.Room for improvementThe brown leather strap doesn’t feel as premium as the rest of the watch. This is only a small negative for me and by no means a deal breaker for as the straps are easily swapped with any 22mm strap.Overall an extremely premium watch that I enjoy wearing and couldn’t be happier with. Excellent work Huawei.

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review.Firstly, i do really like this watch, it is very comfortable and light but the build quality feels really nice and aesthetically it look great, it look like a watch rather than a smartwatch. It has some really nice features, i particularly like the heart rate monitor which appears very accurate.Changing the watch face is also a nice touch although some look a little fake and as an iOS user you don't get the opportunity to download more and change the faces, this is only available through the android app.As others mention, the best thing about this watch is the battery life.To offer all of its functionality and have battery life that last >10 days and then charges up to full in a matter of hours is amazing. Compare this to an iWatch which requires charging every single day and you start to really appreciate the fact you can use this watch every day without any hassle. The watch allows for notifications and to receive calls, actually the sound quality of calls through the watch is excellent but there are issues with notifications as the watch only shows words so any emojis etc don't show up which is annoying. The problem with this watch however starts when you try using the associated health app. Given this watch is primarily a fitness tracker, the app support is hopeless, it regulalry loses connectivity and since the 1st January my step count is showing as zero on the app despite reconnecting and re-syncing the watch with my phone and despite the actual step count showing on my watch. There are so many reviews of the app letting this watch down and they are absolutely correct. In summary, it is a great watch and probably worth the money for an everyday watch with some smart features but expect issues with long term fitness tracking especially if you are an iPhone user.

Firstly I received this product as part of a review program for a unbiased review,The Huawei Watch GT2 smartwatch is a device that runs Huawei's own operating system Lite OS which does not have an app store and you can't download any apps. The screen is bright and crisp with a 1.4 inch AMOLED screen with a pixel density of 462 PPI the colours are vibrant and the screen can be adjusted to suit however bright or dark you require it, I set the watch to have the display off when not in use which helps with saving the battery life. The watch has a Kirin A1 chip which has very good performance and excellent battery life even though the battery size is only 455mAh the watch doesn't take long to chargewith the included magnetic charger puck and USB C cable. When I've used the device at the Gym I found the menus easy to navigate even with sweaty or wet fingers when using it for swimming, the watch can be used up to 5 ATM's in depth. The watch has quite a few good functions like the sleep function which I personally found very accurate, the heart rate monitor which also was accurate when I compared it with another device I'd borrowed, the only function I didn't find accurate was the altitude reading which varied hugely whilst I was at home the readings showed a difference of over 245 metres even though I hadn't been anywhere else. You can choose which watch face you want but their isn't many to choose from and you can't design your own.Watch straps can be changed and they use the 22mm size.ProsEasy to use.Excellent battery life.Nice design and build quality.Vibrant and crisp display.ConsNo app store. No way of downloading apps.No Wifi or 4G/5G.Connection is only via Bluetooth.SummaryIt's not an all singing and dancing smartwatch but if you require a reliable fitness tracker type device which has very good battery life maybe this could be for you.

I struggled to pick a watch as I read mixed reviews about everyone I looked at and this watch looked like a cheap cousin to the £1000 Polar and Garmin equivalent watches. I've had it a week and while it does have a few limitations I am loving it. I'm using it for Triathalon training and HIIT classes and spin classes. Its a shame it doesn't share its data with UA apps that i also use and the heart monitor can sometimes suggest you have a lower heart rate than you actually have but having had lots of watches that monitor heart rate this is no different to others - it gets it right most of the time. Love the myzone face and the option to change the faces of the watch, I really can't rave about it too much,I'm a big fan. However, it doesn't come with the £1000 price tag of its competitors. Its well built, hard wearing, very useful, very accurate and just a lovely bit of kit if you like to knwo what your heart rate is doing on a regular basis. The Steps seem a bit keen to clock up, it tells me I have done 2-4000 steps and I know I haven't quite done that many. I haven't quite worked out how to keep it on the training screen i want to see when working out but I think that's just a learning curve thing for me. I like the way it recharges and I like the speed it recharges (circa an hour) and I like its battery life (it is a good couple of weeks and that is during some hard wearing with a couple of hours training a day.I wanted a good sports watch that was top quality but couldn't justify the £1000 price tags on the other watches I looked at. This is almost as much watch as the Garmin and Polar but at 1/5 of the cost. I'm super impressed, great value for money.

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review.I own an Android phone and use the Huawei Health App. The watch connects by Bluetooth, not wi-fi. This is a “must have” watch for the health conscious or those trying to improve on their fitness. I was amazed by the selection and detail. Running, walking, cycling, swimming (water resistant to 50m), climbing and more. Beginners and advanced. Your own personal trainer. It also monitors heart rate, steps, distance and calories burned, giving the equivalent in food such as a scoop of icecream. As you use the watch it intelligently logs your activity over the hours, days, weeks and monthsI love the TruSleep option. This monitors you when you sleep and reviews this in amazing detail giving suggestions on how you can improve on the quality if it is below average. It has a stress test option, monitoring stress levels with a breathing option which calms and focuses. It does not have an app store but options are. Torch, barometer, compass, weather, alarms, timers, stopwatch, find my phone. A selection of watch faces to suit your activity. I have set up social media and message notifications.I have music stored on the watch and love the quality of the audio via Bluetooth earbuds. There is also an inbuilt speaker and mic which I have used to make and receive calls. I have found the quality to be very acceptable. It is a good friend on my wrist with a fantastic battery of up to 2 weeks between charges. Wi-fi option and an app store would give it the full 5 stars
