This is my first smart watch, so I have probably made some obvious errors! Here is my experience anyway.I wanted an Android Wear 2.0 watch that would support Android Pay, and this was the most obvious choice. The second thing I wanted was a 4G enabled watch, hence my choice of this model. Lastly I wanted something that would track and share my walking activities, which this does well (via 3 different apps at the same time if you want!). I chose to use Google Fit.When I installed Android Pay, I was prompted to record a PIN to verify payments. My immediate thought was "this will make it impractical when paying in a shop, I can unlock my phone with my finger print!". However,I soon realised that you only have to input the PIN once after you have put the watch on, which remains unlocked while it detects a heart beat. I allocated Android Pay to the multi-function button and, to pay, I now have to press this button once and, click onto the payment card screen and then touch the watch against the cardless machine. Still more hassle than using the phone, but much more theatrical! Incidentally, the card on the phone needs to be set up via the android phone linked to your watch. It is also possible to keep your phone unlocked while you are wearing the watch and are bluetooth connected to the phone, making it even easier to pay with android pay on the phone.I inserted a Sky SIM into the watch and soon had calls and texts working nicely but data just wouldn't work as there was no way to manually configure the Access Point Name on the watch. Sky send configuration messages for the APN, but the watch can not accept these. After much reading up, I found out this is because Sky piggyback onto a proper mobile network (o2) and cannot store their own APN on the SIM card. I contemplated picking up a Vodafone SIM and trying it out, but the cost was prohibitive. So, the watch currently doesn't have a SIM but, after using it for a while I have decided this is a good thing. The reason for this is power consumption. If you run the watch as an independent entity, with WiFi and 4G, you struggle to get a full day's use out of it. I have now switched both these off and just run with it linked via bluetooth to my phone. The watch has access to the internet via the bluetooth linked phone and is sitting on 52% usage after a full days use yesterday. This does have an impact on the phone battery life though. I was also pleased to see that the phone connects to the watch and a bluetooth headset/car kit at the same time.If I was buying again I wouldn't buy the 4G version, but can see how this is useful if you want to exercise with just the watch and be kept up to date. Beware though, that if you connect your watch to a bluetooth headset, the watch and the phone will compete for access to the headset with unpredictable results.

Here's the funny thing, this version of the watch is the European one, so you get a Euro plug rather than a UK plug, and you get the speckled wristband & yellow buttons, but it's about £40 cheaper than the black wristband UK version for exactly the same device in different colours! If you want an Android Wear 2 device with a round screen, this is great (with a couple of the odd niggles that come along with Wear 2), it's waterproof, has a heartbeat sensor & a decent charging method, so overall is a fabulous watch!I previously had a Sony Smartwatch 3 which only runs Wear 1, is slimmer, but doesn't have the heartbeat sensor and requires plugging in to charge, so this is a big step forwards. It's just a pity that the bezel is fixed (which pretty much makes it just decoration). As each of the Wear 2 device manufacturers has to control certain elements, here are a few things that are "missing" on Huawei's Wear interface, especially compared to Wear 1:1) Not all notifications give an "open on device", especially Twitter, so you can see the first part, but not any image or instruct the watch2) A lot of notifications which allow "yes/no" options require a lot more taps, and quicker taps to get through the process3) Swipe from the right to get the notification options is now only available on a scroll, a swipe either way is a "dismiss" so you may accidentally remove things you want to keep4) You can change the watch face by swiping from home, this is "too easy" to do accidentally (especially if wearing a conductive coat), so I've found my watch face suddenly being something different without my manual choiceOverall, if you're used to Wear 1, then this is a quick process to learn the new features & methods, if not then some of this will take some getting used to, but if you want a fully featured watch that does heartbeat, Android Pay and looks quite like a chunky normal watch, then this is brilliant.UPDATE: I've had it around 18 months and it's stopped charging, if you look at the photos attached then you'll see that the charge points are worn out, so it won't make connection to the charging pins... Bee VERY careful when charging to not move the watch while it's in the charging base or connector

This is my second Android Wear watch and it's the next generation on from my 28 month old Moto 360. No regrets with my purchase after a month of constant use.Pros:- The 4G model doesnt suffer from separation anxiety from your mobile!- It will work as a phone without your mobile. It has its own microphone and speaker - or you can connect it to a bluetooth headset- It can receive and send data when not connected by bluetooth to your mobile - but you still need to pair the watch with your mobile to configure it and for most apps.- Google Pay will work on your watch without your mobile. The barmaid was gobsmacked when I paid for a round with my watch.- You can store music on the phone and play it with Google Play Music through a bluetooth headset.Transfer the music from your mobile: don't download it over 4g.- Google Play is on the watch means that you can better control which Apps are running on the phone.- Your Contacts sync from the phone to the watch.- The 4G doesn't use much battery in normal use.Cons:- You can't use the same mobile number on your watch as your mobile - so you wont easily pickup incoming calls with the watch on its own unless you give out your watch number.- You look a bit of a dick talking to your watch - however hard you pretend to be James Bond.- You have to pay for a second SIM with data.- It takes some time to set all the apps on your watch up. Since setting it up the first time, I've changed my mobile phone and unpaired the watch from my phone by mistake so I'm now getting good at it.- If you tried to use it for everything you do on your mobile, make phone calls, play music, then the battery would probably run down fast.- When charging it isn't much use. The Moto 360 charged in a nightstand and made a good little bedside clock.- Although it claims - "Wear your Huawei Watch 2 anywhere, with IP68 water and dust protection, the Huawei Watch 2 is designed to conquer the elements." It seems to have a lot of little holes for SIM, Speaker, Microphone etc so I havent tried out the waterproof test.- The plastic strap looked a bit cheap compared to the leather strap on the Moto360 - but the metal strap I purchased is looking good.

Fantastic Watch! I upgraded to this from a Moto 360 first gen after much consideration and boy am I glad I did. The connectivity with my phone is superb and never drops out even when I am down the bottom of the garden and phone is in the front room. It is predominantly sold as a "sport" watch and has a whole array of sensors for that purpose. I did not purchase this watch for sports use at all, but purely on the asthetics, quality and functionality, I have not been disappointed. If you are looking for a great fitness accessory I am sure this has everything you could dream of and more, but equally if you want a great looking, water proof everyday smart watch, look no further. The screen size is a little smaller than competitors and my old Moto 360, but I really don't notice, to me the quality and functionality are the most important things and this little beauty has them in abundance.I have small wrists and I think you will agree from my photo the Huawei doesn't look out of place. It is very light and very, very comfortable. The battery life is amazing straight out of the box (even with the screen turned to "always on", this improves further over the first couple of weeks usage. The only grumble I have at the moment is the Android wear 2 software, which has a few bugs and app comparability issues, though I am sure these will be ironed out with future updates. All in all this is a superb piece of wearable technology which looks and feels awesome.Note: Pic 1: Watch in dimmed, always on mode.Pic 2: Watch on 3rd party vertical charger with 3rd party "charging" clock app. Please feel free to contact me for details.

Got this as a present and it took a little while to get used to it, maybe a few days as I have always had 'normal' watches before this. It works flawlessly with my OnePlus 6 which saw it, paired and set everything up automatically. The WearOS watch faces included are nice, but I've found a couple of really nice on the play store that suit my needs better and they were not expensive. Battery life has got better after the first couple of charges, I can now get a bit over 24 hours out of it with normal use, they say more if you just put it in watch mode. Some reviews say the screen is too small, and I can see what they mean, but I'm not a fan of having a massive screen on my wrist, this is about the same size as a normal 'action' style watch so not too obtrusive and easy to wear. I love the sleep tracking that the Huawei fitness app provides, and speaking as a fat bloke.. it's certainly made me more conscious of what I eat and how active I am! I've even found myself going for walks just to see how many steps I get in.. if I keep this up I'll be back in my 1980's faded blue jeans by next summer.. so overall I'm very happy with the watch, the only thing I was disappointed with was that I thought it supported eSim but this version does not, just a 4G sim.. so I'm just using via Bluetooth with my phone.

Great product - with a bit of configuring battery life is good, I had 24hours with phone enabled and Bluetooth on - battery life could be better, yeah I guess I could carry a car battery in my pocket!!!Considering all of the features battery is more than decent, if you want longer battery , leave phone and Wi-Fi off. Wi-Fi is not needed when out running anyway. With these features switched off the watch lasts nearly 2 days however it does vary.It is Android Wear 2 so it takes a bit of getting used to but as a cool feature watch it is great.Where the Watch 2 and from my testing other Android Wear smart watches don't quite make the grade is in the area of fitness /running tracking. It is accurate - not much complaint there but it is just clunky and poorly thought out. Even Google fit feels like it was written by a Geek stuck in treacle. Not very intuitive at all and a real pain just to even delete a workout. For fitness tracking, especially running and swimming ( the Watch 2 can't be used for swimming!!! ) the TomTom and Garmin are much better options with better online portals and features.I guess the good news that as this is software driven it could be re-written??Let's hope so.Form running and swimming TomTom and Garmin

Amazing watch.Just one thing to disappoint is the fact that Android wear is still a baby version of Android and doesn't support killer apps like whatsapp etc. But, I can say you all, this watch is AMAZING. Waiting for it since a week, I finally get it (the first one was delivered to someone else) Amazon, resent a new one back to me.Positive aspectsGood battery life (with a proper setup, even 2 days of battery life)Very comfortableGood looking watch (so fancy)Good quality call (but in home. Not suggested in noisy scenarios)A lot of watch faces in the store and more custom faces from the communityGood 4G signalGood componentsGood materialsNeeds to be improve in the hardware watchSpeaker volumeCustom brightness levelNeeds to be improve in Android Wear 2.0More compatible apps like whatsapp, telegram (a working telegram), a good file manager, a good video player, a valid YouTube player, a good web browser, an integrated screenshot shortcut keys combinationNo needed in watchI don't understand why Runtastic and not a companion application... I will appreciate more an HUAWEI app as Garmin does with their own watches.

First smart watch I have owned, and been waiting for a wear 2.0, for the android pay etc.Impressed by the features on the watch and the general operation with a small screen etc, but all works very nicely, being quick and responsive.Used android pay from it, and it worked , so happy (don't need an active network connection for it to work)Health tracking features are good and used it for walking, cycling and the gym and all very useful stats. Have preferred to use the Huawei health app over google fit, as it seems easier to use (on your phone install "Android Wear" first, then "Huawei Wear", and its "Huawei Wear" that will install "Huawei Health" app). Other compatible apps on the watch i find useful are google authenticator, google keep, hangouts, strava, Maps, google music and viewranger.Battery life seem good, easily does a day with lots of use, so 2 days wouldn't be problemTip: If using GPS for a ride or run, and you have you phone with you, turn off the gps on the phone or the watch will use it. The watch GPS is much more accurate (well than my phone GPS)

I really loved this watch.I have upgraded from GT to GT2 watch so have a quite a experience with Huawei watches lately. The watch presentation, design and weight is perfect and I can say well done. I changed the leather strap to a metal one because I like more...The good thing is always-on feature which displays time continuously and is very handy. However due to use of always-on, I have to charge my watch at least once a week. The battery life and GPS are excellent and it looks very good. The watch has got the microphone and speaker build in, so I can make and take a call from the watch...ye from the watch which I really love and use all the time during my work.;dGood points: the long battery life; comfort, smart sleek appearance...ultra-clear screen... GPS tracking...wide range of overall fitness options and stats recording...heart-rate ...the ability to change the watch strap; Bluetooth connectivity and range...stable connectivity.

very comfortable despite size, lightweight, upgraded strap to leather looks much better.sim works fine , used 02 international sim , switches to this when not connected to phone by bluetooth automaticallyso have dual sim , you can divert phone to watch this if you want phone sim to be called. haven't used three sim in watch as they told me it won't work at three shop, so got 02 paygo. can alter face of watch easily with apps including size and info displayed. Steps, heart rate work with huawei health or fit. podcasts work. bad point is memory size only 2.5gig but that is manageable. so can use independent phone. This works with other sims too, have 3 payg sim in now ,02 kept taking 1£ data charge a day difficult to turn just data off,can in low battery setting but when charges switches back to normal battery setting,

Great watch, loads of features. From multiple watch faces for choice. Bluetooth, & Wifi built in, as you'd expect. Voice to text works flawlessly, even with my pigeon Geordie English. You can load apps such as google maps etc. Works great. No issues. want to make calls? No problem, built in speaker & mic. Flawless!Fitness, you name it, it's already there. Sleep tracker, to steps, heart rate. Superb..... if you like that kind of thing..What would improve it? I'd like to go swimming in it. Though they say its ok for showers and wotnot, I wouldn't like.Overall, I love the watch. But I do like my gadgets. And this is a belter! Comfortable to wear. Battery like pretty good. Obviously depends on what you use it for.4Gb storage, but not figured how to load music on it yet.

Amazingly this is my first ever Amazon review. Been sitting on the fence for a while about getting a smartwatch but this was a good deal used as new. It's a great device, the 4g version received Android 8 Oreo update a couple of days ago which added the Trusleep functionality at last. Really pleased as haven't even worn a watch for a while but this is definitely a keeper. Might get a 2nd SIM and enable call forwarding, which generally uses built in contract minutes.Watch is comfortable, battery life is ok and the OS is slick, especially after all the recent updates.I've run it in parallel with a Polar M400 with chest strap and it's not far off, although I don't think it will ever be as accurate as the polar as far as heart rate tracking goes.

Great don't listen to the battery complaints once Google services has stopped downloading after day 4 the battery lasts a lot longer a day and a half I get with mobile sim Bluetooth and heart rate on all the time doing phone calls and texts data on use the battery saving option in the app drawer it's probably what people aren't trying that's where you can turn data on or off too I got 2 days turning Bluetooth off and just using it as a standalone phone too so don't be put off by the bad reviews from people who use it the first day and the battery runs out fast because of the set up and updates and send it straight back saying the battery was terrible you will be missing out on the best androidwatch there is

Great build quality, very comfortable, works well. I did have a few initial setup issues (solutions below in case it helps anyone) but in general it has exceeded my expectations - recommended.1. Initially terrible battery life (~7h). Reason: SIM card did not have mobile data plan but the watch must have this, presumably wastes battery with failed connection attempts. With mobile data plan battery life is as advertised > 1 day (4G on, WiFi on, Bluetooth on, GPS off)2. Unrealiable notifications from iPhone after initial setup. Solved by factory reset of watch and fully deleting wear iOS app from Settings -> General -> iPhone storage -> delete app, then reinstall

Great quality product and functionality and ease of use great. Not as premium a feel as my pebble time was but offer all the up to date feature you should expect and utilises Wear OS to the full!Only down side is it is aimed at the sports tracker crowd and as good looking as it is, adding a nicer strap will not make it look like a dress watch in anyway. There are other versions of it that will work as a dress watch but expect to pay £100+ more for nicer but less hard wearing casing and strap! All in all this is a more than adequate replacement for my beloved pebble. Thank you to fitbit for ruining that brand for the world!
