I received this Huawei P20 lite as part a review program in return for an unbiased review. The Huawei P20 lite is the cheapest option out of the P20 range, it's big brothers being the P20 and P20 Pro. But it still packs a punch in it's midrange world! The P20 lite is perfectly capable of everyday tasks, like Web browsing, social media and some “lite” gaming.I was also impressed by the build quality with its glass body and metal trim, gives it that premium look and feel. Battery life was good, not great but with around 3.5 / 4 hours of screen on time, which is fairly standard now. Huawei supplies you with a turbocharger which managed to take me from 5% to 100% in 1 hour and 31 minutes. That is great news as you'll need to top it up if you're a heavy user. Now let's talk about the camera, which at this price point and being the only one in the p20 range not to receive Leica optics/branding, the camera is good! Pictures come out sharp and with great detail. The only let down is on the video side of things. No OIS (optical image stabilisation) or EIS (electronic image stabilisation), so your video will only be as steady as your hand, although maybe that's too much to ask from a £300 smartphone. The front facing camera is a very capable 16mp shooter, it includes those all important bokeh shots. It's a software bokeh but it seems to work quite nicely, I have been pleasantly surprised with both cameras on this device. The P20 lite has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner, making it different from its bigger brother but also giving more screen to body ratio. Although once I had set up the face unlock feature, I hardly used the fingerprint scanner. The face unlock was fast and efficient, only struggled in the dark. If you turn up the screen brightness to full, that seems to help. The notch! Love it or hate it's here and to be honest I think it's grown on me over the past two weeks of testing. I actually like having that extra space for notifications and if you really don't like it, you can change it. By going into the settings and making either side of the notch black if you so desired. Now one small problem is that this is not an AMOLED screen, just IPS LCD. So the screen isn't 100% black and yes you can still see the notch. Didn't bother me as I just left the notch on.The Huawei P20 lite is amazing with a big display in a small device, the phone is easy to hold and light too. I was very impressed with the camera and overall build and design but ( there has to be a but..) the user interface! The EMUI skin that Huawei use just seems childish to me and no matter what theme I used I could not change the settings menu. The CPU, the Kirin 659 is over a year old now and has been used in many cheaper devices from Huawei and its subsidiaries. Multitasking was a problem, it just couldn't keep up with what I was asking it to do.Well what can I say, the Huawei P20 lite is great, a phone with that must have 2018 specification, the notch! And at a very affordable price tag, if it just had a bit more power and a better user interface I could maybe get along with it. Would I recommend this phone? Yes! To someone looking for a good deal on a notch device or maybe save up and buy yourself a P20.

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. As the name suggests, the P20 Lite is something of a cut-down version of Huawei's flagship P20 handset. It's no slouch though, with a powerful processor and 4GB of RAM, along with 64GB of storage and a micro SD slot. It feels really snappy to use, and while it lacks the Leica camera featured on the P20, image quality is still really good. The fingerprint reader is positioned on the rear of the phone, and works pretty much instantaneously. The positioning does mean that you have to pick up the phone to unlock it (unless you want to enter your PIN/pattern) so is a bit of a tradeoff.Despite the large screen, the phone is thin and light, yet feels sturdy and not at all "plasticky". As is becoming more and more common with handsets from various manufacturers, there is a "notch" at the top of the screen accommodating the front-facing camera, earpiece speaker and notification LED. The screen itself is sharp and has vibrant colours for an LED-based unit. The aspect ratio gives plenty of vertical space for web browsing, and while some Android apps are not yet optimised for the 1080x2280 (19:9) screen, the P20 Lite allows you to enable full-screen display on an app-by-app basis, warning you that it may cause problems with some apps - but I haven't noticed any issues so far.The phone is based on the EMUI 8.0 operating system, Huawei's own take on Android 8.0. However, the tweak and customisations are limited - they don't go overboard - and in the main they add to the experience rather than taking it away or making things cluttered. While Huawei have clearly had to make some compromises in order to hit the price point, they don't appear to impact the day-to-day use of the phone. For example, the CPU is slower than the full-fat P20, but is still lightning fast at opening and switching apps. The camera is less well specified than the Leica unit on the P20, but still delivers great point-and-shoot quality,Overall, a very capable handset, especially considering its mid-range position in the market - it's a lot of phone for your money, and I think the average smartphone user would be more than satisfied with it.

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. I'm one of those people, who do not switch phones every time there's a new flagship model. I want to use the same phone for as long as possible. My P8 Lite served me well for three years, but was getting slow and the battery life left a lot to hope for. So, I decided to get a new one, another Huawei.I learnt to love the notification light on my old phone, as it was very handy for someone like me, who receives a lot of messages and emails. I was thrilled to notice that the new one has one as well, however it's much smaller and you barely notice it. Another minus point is that you can only sync your email every 15 minutes, whereas on the old one it was 5 minutes. I work as a freelancer and sometimes it's crucial to notice one's emails immediately in this field, so I'm pretty gutted about that. Other than these slight disappointments, I've been quite happy with my new servant. To me the screen is sufficient, I'm not a tech buff so I don't even know much about that sort of thing, but it works well for a normal person. Battery life is great, I've not run out once, although I use my phone near constantly. I play games, message, talk on the phone, cast Netflix, etc, and I've been completely fine. The facial recognition usually works fine and it's quick. If it's really bright outside, it will have some problems with that feature. Finger print recognition also works sufficiently. The camera is nice as well, it takes crisp photos. The zoom is almost unusable, however. It makes the photo so sharp that you just can't make anything out of it. But in normal use it has been nice, and works relatively well in low light as well. All in all, it doesn't have all the fancy stuff of a flagship, but it's a very good phone for every day use. It's fast, easy to use, has a few nice features and the battery lasts for a whole day in normal use. What else can you hope for in a basic, cost effective smart phone?

I think this is a cracking mobile. The crisp 1080p screen is good for watching films and even has the infamous notch if thats to people's liking, but it can be changed to no notch. The 2.36 ghz Kirin 659 is lightening fast. And good for gaming it runs Real Racing 3 sweet with no lag at all. Even all the reviews seem to say Kirin 659 is slow and outdated processor.Have not experienced any heat issues. Im glad Huawei have included a USB-C port as this is 2018.The 16mpx F2.2 aperture front camera is very good. but slight issues on low light. But overall im very impressed. Now the front facing 16mpx F2.0 aperture is brilliant for low light and taking selphies. Its lightening quick at charging about 90 mins from flat to full as ive found.Overall this is classed as mid range device. it does feel near flagship device. the build quailty is like its brother the P20.Now onto I.M.O the downside. firstly there is no waterproofing which should be a standard on all 2018 phones. second there is no O.I.S on either camera's so if you want to shoot good video use a tripod.Personally i would of put an F2.0 aperture on the rear as well. Also i like the portrait Bokeh effect. And the best thing you can a take a picture using rear camera and focus or refocus after in the gallery. So all in all if you want flagship device with a couple of compromises, then this is well recommended.

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. What I like about HUAWEI P20 Lite,1) It is thin and perfect for the pocket size @ 148.6 x 71.2 x 7.4 mm.2) The phone works smoothly with Android 8.0 (Oreo).3) It has inbuilt Memory cleaner function.4) The dual rear camera is 16MP. The photos are really good with fine colour details.5) The configuration and taking pictures is really simple and easy.6) Big storage capacity around 50gb available to use.7) MicroSD Card can be used up to 256 GB (uses SIM 2 slot). What I don’t like about HUAWEI P20 Lite.1) If you are heavy user like me the battery will not last the sunset.2) There is dual sim slot. However either need to use MicroSD card for extra memory or second sim. Both can’t be used together.3) The dual camera lances are sticking out a few millimetres. However if you use protection cover then it won’t be an issue.Enjoy my review videoyoutu.be/55Mi9kDEaSc

I received Huawei P20 Lite as part of campaign for an unbiased review.I have been using P20 Lite just over a month and I am very pleased with its performance. It charges to a full battery in a couple of hours and I only charge it every second day although I watch Netflix, speak on the phone and browse on the Internet a lot. Comparing to my previous phone by a famous brand, it holds considerably longer. It works fast and loads apps and internet sites without delays. It is lightweight, slim and has a good size screen. It works well with my smart watch.I am particularly pleased with the performance of the camera and variety of Pro settings, filters, watermarks and other options. It makes good video including slow-motion and makes fun pictures with AR mode.I believe it is a very good phone and good value for money.

I bought the Huawei P20 lite to replace my Samsung which was started to go slow and run out of space after 3 years. The changeover was easy enough. Got a nano sim, used phone clone and it copied all my apps, photos, videos, texts, phone logs and contacts over in less that 20 minutes. I had to transfer WhatsApp conversations in a different way but again easy stuff. So far so good, the camera functionality is better than the Samsung and you can bundle apps into folders. There's 64GB of storage plus my memory card so I'm good for plenty of that plus all the usual cloud back up. Call quality is fine and security set up seems ok. Early days but seems a fantastic device for the price and I'm still on Android which is fine.Despite having an iPad I wasn't tempted by Apple for a phone.

I have given 5 stars as I haven't found anything that I dislike yet. But I have rated 4 stars on the features as I do not have the technical knowledge to rate and compare it in terms of current specs for other devices. I took a punt on this brand. I had heard good and bad things. But ultimately, for what I use it for, it's great. I don't go heavy on apps and 4g usage. I like the camera quality, even though it's the lower spec model, it's still better than my last 2 phones. Screen brightness is not brilliant in bright light, but not a major concern for me. Speakers are okay, again, not amazing, but it's good for what I use it for. Build quality seems good. Screen response and finger print sensor are great. It's a great mid/lower end phone. Ramble over.

Had this phone for nearly a year, and what can I say other that it's never battered an eye lid. Battery only gets better over time as long as you charge it right. Never slowed down under lots of perment use, I have been using it as a work phone in construction so its not as though its been at desk all day. Have dropped it numerous times and had only a slight crack that you can't see so the glass is superb. For the amp size of the battery it's brilliant. Camera quality is good but not something I look for in a phone. Will stick with huawei as long as they keep bringing phones out like this

After countless problems with iPhones in the past I decided to make the switch and bought the Huawei P20 lite. It is so easy to use, with very long battery power (I can use it without charging for around 2 days), great memory and camera! The only difficult part was the transferring of data from iphone to android however I just put everything I could on google drive and it was actually ok in the end :) Two friends have since made the transition from iphone to huawei after me and feel the same way! Overall a really great phone, very happy with it!

Wow this is the best huawei phone i I have had so far.its brilliant.great screen resolution.clear voice calls.and very quick processor no lagging.its has also a unigue design.i would recommend this phone.if I was being picky there are 2 minor issues for me.the headphone jack is at the bottom.of the phone which can be irritating.and I do feel it is overpriced a bit.i paid £299.it should be around £229.but that my opinion based on what the phone does etc.but overall fantastic phone.

great phone takes a lovely picture just love these phones at the moment second Huawei phone ive had stopped using my last one only because the battery was lasting just a couple of hours in the day that was the P9 lite lasted 3 years so up gradeded to the P20 lite and so far have not been disappointed.

10.6.2019

Upgraded from a P10 lite used for 1 year and a half. The phone is what I had expected from it, more smooth than P10lite, better camera, more sophisticated looking. Had used in the past several iPhone models and a Sony, but this series from Huawei is way better. Great phone!
