This is a fantastic phone case. I bought this mainly for the Dot features, although it serves well to protect your phone and look stylish at the same time, it fits well with the premium quality of the M9. I'm sure if you've got to reading reviews you know the basics of the Dot View case. On the whole you get a retro effect through the dots on the case, just a double tap on the screen will show the time, temperature (and weather if you use one of the wallpapers available). Phone calls can be rejected/accepted on the case, music/radio can be paused, skipped and played on the case, and also notifications appear on the screen for a wide range of apps.On the whole the case protects your phone and saves you time when you need to look at your phone quickly.The case is incredibly customisable, you really cannot find any case for any phone like this. Aside from the pre-loaded screens available you also have live/moving screens, and if all that doesn't take your fancy you can draw your own screen, or use a picture that will be converted to the dot style. There's a lot to do and a lot to choose from, which is great if you're like me and very picky with the style of your phone and like to change it often (or leave it the same for ages). Another thing to add is that there are holiday themes included (that cover things like Easter and Christmas), you can either have these update automatically or disable it changing near the holiday dates.On top of that are two new apps, that are a bit of gimmicks in my opinion, but nice to show off the case to friends. Those two apps are "Dot Breaker" and "Dot Message", one offers a retro game, the other a scrolling message on the case when closed. Both are nice enough apps although pretty useless for me, I found I play with them once to show friends then haven't used them since.I would have given this 5 stars although the clear plastic on the back already had marks all over it, out of a brand new box (it was sealed all over). So that's very disappointing to say the least. Luckily the marks were very minor on my case and not that noticeable (unless you're out to look for them), although it is disappointing when you're paying for an official product at a premium price. For such a high price I would expect something that's 100%, seeing lots of other reports of this across websites so it seems to be a widespread issue with HTC.Naturally the back plastic gets scratched easily, and already it looks pretty bad after a weeks use. I'm not so sure how long this case will last until it looks like it should be in the bin. I like the idea HTC have gone with having a clear back to show off the brushed aluminum phone, although it seems nothing has been coated over the plastic to prevent scratches. I'm awfully careful with my phone and very delicate with it, even with a case on, and even I have managed to get scratches on it.So overall a great case, with useful features and stylish on the front. The build quality it good and fits around the phone snugly. But beware of the back plastic having marks out the box, and beware of the plastic marking easily over time. One final niggle, when the case is open it's fairly difficult to use the keypad on the phone, you get used to it after a few days and need to learn to adjust to it, but it's an annoyance at first.

You know what? it is WORTH ITI had this phone for nearly a year before I bought it. I liked the metal phone so much I did not want to cover it with anything....And the metal is so slippery I dropped it maybe 10 times before I gave in and bought thisIt is cheaper now than it was previously... and it is very impressive. The build quality is good. The cover sits perfectly closed and the front is rubbery in texture but the back is plastic. And with a mechanism I still cannot understand the cover does not eventually lose the automatic springiness with time and will by default close and stay closed easily (held with a tiny magnetic strip)The added touch activated features on the phone are as follows: double tap to 'wake screen'

The product itself is superb, was delivered quickly and in great condition.The goodAs for the case itself, it's great, the ability to customise the dot matrix and some (not all) of the animations are pretty decent, the back cover is see through which looks amazing and retains some of the devices aesthetics, which for me is important as it's a good looking phone, the flip mechanism is strong enough to always flip back, bending it all the way around feels a bit iffy like it'd weaken it if kept there for too long but mine hasn't had any adverse effect from doing so.. Price is also cheap compared to phone shops, EE wanted £30 for this which is a joke.The double tap to wake works great and the skip music,

As alot of reviews appear to be mostly negative, I will try to balance it out with my thoughts!First I'm pleased to see Amazon and others follow suit in a much lower price point than the original RRP of £35.After the frustration of trying to find one of these cases in another color than "grey", I've finally got my hands on a purple and the blue case. I have to say that they are both high quality in both the packaging and the product itself. The case looks far more premium than most of the cheap and cheerful cases you can easily find around the web.As I have a gun metal (grey) HTC M8, both colors of the case certainly compliments the phone itself whilst providing neat features and of course the protection!I haven't had a problem with the obstruction of the case during use,

Sturdy, well designed case that is the official HTC Dot Case. Nice blue colour though slightly lighter in colour than the photo shows on my laptop monitor.The dot case allows for the use of the HTC Dot app (pre-installed) to display relevant notifications through the case and still allow you to 'deal' with them. Eg a text message can be swiped and it tells you (graphically) to open the case. A call can be accepted or rejected too and you can configure the app to show the last 3 calls made/received.The cover has magnets that put the screen to lock and also launch the dot app in the background.When you press the power button the app shine through the dots.There are several themes to choose from within the app.

I already own the grey case and am now buying the blue. It works like a dream and is always a fun party trick at the pub to show off how it works.I'll address two of the main issues that people have with the case:1. The case does not fold back flush against the back of the phone: This is true, but unless you are attempting to type one-handed, does not interrupt the process at all. You get used to it incredibly quickly.2. The case snaps closed if it is not being held open: Again, true. I found this strange at first and grew to get used to it. But it wasn't until I dropped my phone for the first time that I realised the point of the snapping case - it fell flat on its front on my tiled kitchen whilst in use,

I was very reluctant to buy this after reading some reviews but having now had it in use for a week I am more than happy to say it is brilliant, yes it leaves some dots on the screen but these can be easily wiped off but only noticeable when the screen is off and are very faint anyway, in fact finger marks you leave make more marks than the cover does! Ok so a little bit fiddly to take photos but you get used to it, some leather cases cause problems too not just this one. As for the display I agree hard to see in daylight but hey I have a solution....... OPEN THE COVER! Those who complain they have no weather display please note, if you select a theme using the HTC Dot View app then you get the theme,

A genuine HTC product, supplied in original HTC packaging. The case offered good overall protection to the phone, with a soft front cover over the screen, a hard back shell and, thicker re-enforcement at each of the four corner. The shell clips snugly over the original phone case whilst still providing easy access to all connectors, buttons and the front and rear view cameras. This combined with the added bonus of the dot view function, providing phone status and call pre-screening options without the need to opening the cover. I have read some reviews that complain the case makes using the phone one handed a problem, I don't really see it. The front cover just folds neatly back on itself to lay flat against the back of the case.

When I read the bad reviews about this cover I hesitated, but then I needed to buy a cover and there was nothing better. I took my chances. I absoultely love it.It looks great, and it feels great too. I was scared of hiding the beautiful design of the HTC One M8, but with this cover you dont have to worry about it.The critiques about being umcomfortable to take pictures, well, I guess you will get that with any flip cover. I think if you don't like flip covers, then don't get this one. But I don't think that is an issue of this cover paricularly. I don't really have any problems to take pics with it.Also some critiques about not being able to see whatsupp and and facebook... well,

I love this, it's so unassuming that I was unsure it would actually do all the fab things it says it will... it's not perfect (and this may be user error, as some features like voice activated dialling don't work for me), but I love that I can answer calls without opening the case, see message, email and missed call notifications, weather, time etc.... simple pleasures.It's obviously not a hard case so isn't the best protection if you're fond of dropping your phone, but it will at least prevent scratches on the back of your phone. The case leaves imprints of the dots on the screen, but easy to wipe off and it doesn't last.

I was a bit reluctant to spend this much on a phone case, but it is fun to use and very different from any other phone case which gives it a nice novelty appeal, so I'm glad I bought it. I like the fact you can accept calls through the case (it looks strange to others!) and if you double tap it a dot pattern of your choose can show up, which looks nice. It is of a high quality and has a nice feel.On a practical side, the case keeps the phone protected from everyday scrapes, although it does leave the sides a little exposed. You can easily take the phone in and out of the case. The front flap does snap shut if you leave it, which can be annoying, but doesn't cause too much of a problem.

I really do like this case, the dotview is fantastic and the fact that you can swipe through it and perform simple tasks is excellent. I have found a few negative points... The case isn't as dark as in the picture I saw when I bought it, I was expecting a more charcoal grey. The dots don't always line up nicely with the screen so you get a bit of bleed into the next column of dots. I also found that swiping through the case may require a couple of attempts occasionally but as I have a pin if its just to make a call, it is still quicker swiping and talking to my phone than unlocking and finding the contact. I would highly recommend this case to anyone with a HTC One M8.

Great product. Am glad they finally updated the software so most notifications show on the phone otherwise it was going to be a waste of money.Only downside is that it scratches very easily and it leave these dots over your screen which in the light obscure the screen when you open the case so you have to keep wiping the screen. It's also a little difficult to take pics as you can't open the case all the way as it obscures the camera lens and it insists on closing by itself so can be a bit tricky at times.If you have a HTC M8. You need this.

I agree with the previous reviews of this cover. It's great to offer your phone all round protection in your bag or pocket but it does have drawbacks. To use the phone you have to hold the cover out of the way as it automatically snaps back in to place and won't fold back on itself. Being able to use the phone with the cover closed is a great feature though and the dot view display is pretty cool! The material of the front cover is soft rubber so is a magnet for dust. Other than that it's a good cover if you're prepared to pay the premium cost!

I'm really happy with this phone case. The dot matrix is great, you can answer calls without opening the case. The only negative is that the cover doesn't sit flat against the back of the phone once opened up, but as you can take calls with the case closed it doesn't put me off it. I bought the blue coloured case and I'm really pleased with it. Totally transformed the phone as the previous case made the phone more bulky, this case makes it look sleek and slim. I'd definitely recommend it.
