I took some time to decide which candle making starter kit to buy, some were cheaper and some were more expensive than this. I opted for this one and got more than what I thought I would.Included are 4 candle moulds of a few inches tall and 2 small floating, all 6 moulds are made of the same one peice of plastic. You get a big bag of wax, some wick, wick pins (to hold the wick straight in the mould), small bottle of scent, some candle dye and sealant for the mould (which seems to be blu-tac). Basically everything you need to make several candles (I am burning one right now so if I can do it, so can you).

Recently purchased this for Christmas. I'm very impressed and satisfied with my purchase. Arrived in Amazon packaging, and it's own independant box which was clean and undamaged.Comes with everything needed to begin making candles straight away, all you need to provide is the saucepan (for heating the wax).The kit supplies a tray with six moulds, which includes two floating candles. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, it took me around 10 minutes to carefully read the instructions and begin creating. Provided also is a variety of different coloured pellets, used for colouring your candles. Only one scent comes with this kit, Rose.This kit is perfect for beginners and as stated in the instructions,

My 11 year old daughter and I have just spent part of the weekend making candles from this set. True, the candles are small, and true they are made with plastic moulds, and it may also be true that 'toy' is stretching it a bit - BUT for someone who has never made them before, and who now has a set of 8 of the most beautiful rich coloured (purples, burnt oranges, petrol blue) candles and who had no idea they could create something so beautiful and so perfect (they could easily be shop-bought)... and who also gets really fed up with really poor quality naff craft sets out there for children - this is fabulous. We've just ordered a second box.

If I’d read the reviews I wouldn’t have bought this kit. There’s some really tight people buying this. Don’t listen to the tight moaners, of course it costs more than the individual items. It is what it is.The fact that the moulds are plastic, for me is great as a beginner. As if you add too much wax, you can still push them out when they are set. I think if I’d have started with solid moulds, I would have struggled and got them stuck.Look if you want to learn how to make candles and have a bit of fun. Go for it! If you are a moaner that picks and pokes and means at everything. Well you’ll never be happy, no matter what you get!!!

Once I recieved the box, I was excited, but held on to the excitement for a whole week, before starting on the candle making. The instructions are comprehensive. You knew exactly what each stage entailed. Could have gone on and on making more and more candles, but realised that the wax could only realistically make 10 candles. The candle moulds could be reused time and time again. The dye only needed a tiny pinch to make a lovely coloured candle.Had to stop with the candle making for the time being to conserve my motivations on projects.Can't wait to get started on making more.

This kit has everything you need to start you off. Its a good "gateway drug", but once you open the kit you feel a little underwhelmed as once you remove the wax there is very little in the box.I've used all the wax already and made some really nice candles (with straight forward instructions) but felt like the essential oils wasn't the best. It says to use a few drops for a candle. I used half the bottle for just 2 candles and they didn't smell of much.But the kit has done its job, I now know how to make candles and will go out and buy the parts myself in the future.

This is a fun kit. You can make 4 candles with the set. The biggest issue is that it doesn't come with anything to melt the wax into. There are 3 colours, and you need a pot of water and a pot that fits inside that pot - so, you'll need 6 pots if you want to make all the colours of candles. Thats the biggest downside. Apart from that, all good!You can probably get this as a starter, then just wax and wicks in the future, and you are set to go :)

Really like this, got everything in that you need to start a nice little hobby off, I love the little pots of dye you only need the tiniest bit and they are such nice colours, another kit I got only had crayons in for the dye which does work but it just isn't the same it doesn't mix as well and have to use a hell of a lot... house of crafts if you see this could you possible just start selling those little pots if dye too please lol

I a a creative person and this is great. You get a set of smaller size candle moulds but the variety is great and the product is simple to use and allows you to create unique candles. Great starting set and I can see myself adding to this collection. The only reason why it's four stars and not 5 is because the scent provided it's really not that pleasant but scents are pretty inexpensive. Overall would recommend

This was bought for my 16 year old niece who loved it. It's okay for the price as it doesn't look like much when you open it. The outer packaging is great but when you open it up all the bits are just in a plain cardboard box, in plastic wrappings. Having said all this, as a starter kit my niece was thrilled and has really got into candle craft. She has asked for more candle crafting items

Bought for my 13 year old daughter who has hardly stopped obsessively making some fantastic candles (no supervision required)since she opened it. A real pleasure to find a craft activity that someone her age can get her teeth into with a really good professional looking end product. Have now got to order some more wax as she is going round the house stealing mine to melt down.

this is a great beginners set. it comes with 3 moulds but I would recommend using smallish glass pots. it has only enough wax/wick/dye/scent to start you off so you will need to buy more of these as you progress. the scent isn't that strong though so I would use a LOT of it could use purfume . but over all this is a really good set for beginners so buy, buy, buy!

Im not sure that this product is a toy as it is advertised. You need to melt wax in a pan of boiling water so I would not be happy letting a child use it.I really enjoyed making candles with this set and after the wax ran out I continue to use the mould. It made a good number of candles which burnt well.

Took longer than expected to arrive but everything inside seems decent quality. You get quite a lot of wax but I'm yet to make some so don't know how many it will make. Good instructions included and you can reuse the molds for others. However it would of been nice to have more than one scent given.

i got these as a birthday present and they are awesome. easy to follow instructions and make super amazing candles that smell awesome!! only issue is that candles must be on a stand or in a bowl to catch metled wax when you set them alight but they still looked great and highly recommend buying!!
