The first thing to stress about this product is that it is *not* a bike lock. If you leave your precious carbon-fibre road bike attached to a lamppost for a day with this, don't expect to find it there when you come back...What it is is additional security to be used alongside a proper lock. If you want to attach something removable like the front wheel or your helmet to the bike, or perhaps to secure your bike to the roof rack of your car, this is a quick and simple lock which will deter opportunist thieves. It weighs very little - 100g or so - and is around 40 cm long. It is basically a giant removable cable tie, with the addition of a steel core inside the plastic and a simple three-digit combination lock. It's simplicity itself to apply - loop through whatever you want to secure, pass the loose end through the lock, and pull tight; then remember to jumble the combination. It stays secure when I try to pull the loop open with as much force as I can muster, but while the locking tab is metal, it engages with plastic teeth on the strap, and is only 1mm or so long - if you put enough stress on the loop, it will give. Similarly, the steel reinforced strap can't be cut with scissors or a knife, but a set of bolt croppers will go through it like butter. If you use it for its intended purpose - as a lightweight deterrent against opportunist theft - it's a useful addition to a more secure lock. But don't rely on it on its own!

1st thing to note is that this is a very lightweight piece of security. You wont want to use it for locking a bike up all day, but using it to lock up your bike while you nip into a shop or cafe will probably be fine.It wont stand up to anyone who have bolt cutters, but it will stop someone from just walking away with your bike, and it is so light and easy to carry I could see this being very useful in specific cases.Combination locks can be very bad for bike locks, I can normally crack them within 30 secs using a technique I found online, but the lock on this one passed that test. The numbers on the dials are quite small, and the dials themselves can be a little awkward to rotate, but overall they work fine.

Love this lock and so does my five year old son! It's like a giant strong zip tie so you can also use it for fastening a helmet to a bike when locking up. With the combination code it's super easy to use and for my son to carry. I've also used it for my daughter's scooter and even for my own bike when doing a quick lock outside the grocery store. Great value, great product.

Ok they are “cafe locks”. They are lightweight, compact, reasonably priced and you don’t need a key. Unlike my Abus Granit lock i will have these with me at all times so there’s no excuse not to use them.I have an electric Brompton and use one of these to lock the battery to the bike and another one (or two) to lock the bike to something solid.

This lock is on all trips. Small, light and fits together with the tool bag in the SWAT room in the frame. Does the cafe stop on the training trip make for a relaxing affair? Recommended. Not the lock for permanent securing, but practical when you are nearby and want a little more security with your back to.

I lost one and went straight out and bought another so that lays my cards on the table pretty clear. Its a tie wrap so keep it in running distance, but great for short stops and as an additional for wheels and small stuff. Use it all the time

I love the fact that you can leave your bike in line of sight without worrying it's going to be nicked!!! It's easy to reset the combination number. Great deterrent to would be opportunist thieves!!!

This zip tie lock feels a lot more sturdy than your usual Hiplock (cable) cafe lock. It's short so you can only really lock your frame to a post/fence and wrap it around the wheels.

Used recently while snowboarding in France. Great lock, fits in my pocket and easy to use. No problems using and good piece of mind when having lunch.

Good for a number of applications and is light, highly visible and strong. Accessing the number wheel is a little fiddly though

It is quite light. It is not allowed to leave the padlock bike with it but it does serve to secure the helmet or backpack.

Perfect for what I need and lightweight. Not the strongest and if somebody wanted to they could probably break it.

This makes a really useful bike lock, wont beat a serious attempt, but for a lock for when stopping for a coffee.

Super light. Perfect to take with you in your bike jersey pocket.

Seems surprisingly solid, wish the numbers were a little bigger.
