Solid (metal) construction and really simple to fit. Picture quality is spot on. I also use a Sony HD camera which cost just over £600 three yrs ago, and honestly the 2342 gives the picture from that a good run for it's money! I'm linking this to a Synology NAS via POE and setup with the NAS was simple with full support for this camera. The EXIR is spot on too. I've had 4 IR cameras now over the past few years fitted in the same location and the IR on this is by far the best. IR field of coverage in total darkness is really good. In the location I have this installed I need IR light to cover an area approximately 20 square meters in pretty much total darkness and this camera's EXIR covers that perfectly.I do have one gripe regarding the fitting of the camera. The base is secured with 3 screws and the main unit then simply attaches to the base via a twisting motion and a tiny standard screw to keep it in place, and then a plastic covering ring is twisted onto the main unit for aesthetic purposes. My problem is purely due to my particular cameras location, it's within reach (under the eaves on a bungalow), which means it's possible for someone to simply unscrew the main unit fairly easily and unplug the power cable. Other cameras I've had required a special tool to detach the main unit. Small gripe I know but something to bear in mind depending on your location. Overall though highly recommended camera if you require a good picture with good IR coverage.

I have three of these running at my house, and a bullet (2042). They are amazing value for money, the image quality is superb although the 2.8mm is a little soft around the edges - I'd recommend the 4mm unless you know you will need a wider view. The build quality is excellent - all decently cast aluminium very well painted. The Chinese versions are apparently plastic, one more reason to buy an official version. The web configuration interface is pretty well designed, I have used MANY terrible web interfaces on otherwise nice hardware, and it was good to see they have put as much effort into configuration. I have my cameras saving directly to a NAS (FreeNAS SMB/CIFS share) and it all works very well.I'm currently reviewing recordings using the web interface, I haven't figured out a reliable way of playing them back from the NAS shares yet but the web interface playback is pretty responsive. The configuration options are extensive, far too many to detail, I think it covers pretty much anything you'd want. One thing to note - these are completely waterproofed (including the ethernet socket ) and can be mounted directly onto a suface, so the 1280ZJ-M base isn't strictly required. It does make the wiring neater but will make the whole installation less discrete. The ball style means it can be mounted onto a vertical wall and still give a level image.

This camera is good, and it's average score does not do it justice. For mine Amazon themselves were the supplier and therefore it is a true worldwide (English version).Fitting - it needs 3 screw holes and a hole about an inch wide to push the Ethernet and power connectors through.Power - I used a 1AMP 12V PSU - about £5 from various placesBuild - quality item, lots of metal, looks the part. Being cream its a little conspicuous.Picture: High Def stream looks really good. It's good down to low-light and then of course switches to night mode and turns on its IR LEDNight Mode: Very good - perhaps not quite the 30M claimed but pretty closeWeb Interface: Looks quite nice, and works pretty well. You can configure the Cam, watch live stream and also play back any recorded eventsevents: it can detect bodies crossing lines, entering areas etc and send emails, auto record etc.Storage: obviously there are dedicated NAS/PVR systems but for me its working fine set to record onto a Samaba share on a Windows 10 PC. Note this particular model does not have the sd card slot if that is important to you.

This is a great camera. Superb quality, easy set up, and I have found Hikvision UK support nothing but most friendly and helpful.I have a couple of these set up now in a warehouse environment recording to a BlueIris server.Daytime quality is brilliant - very high resolution, good WDR and crisp images.Night time is good. The best I have encountered at this price point. The IR really is very strong. I have a few of the dome type Hikvisions and night IR is poor - there is a lot of IR bleed/reflection off the dome. These turrets are a fantastic alternative. I would say the 30m EXIR range is accurate. The EXIR really does make a difference over normal IR.Of course, don't expect miracles for £120 when it comes to night time performance. If you want bright/head light compensation, look at the Lightfighter serious. If you want the best low-light/night performance, look at the Darkfighter series. Both are upwards of £400.If you would like some example images or more information please let me know.

I have been using this camera for over 2 months now and it has preformed really well. Originally I had it just as a remote camera using the app and that worked perfectly but I wanted the capability to record so I ordered the Hikvision 4 port NVR. The cost of the camera, the NVR plus a 1tb hard drive was £310 and for that amount the picture quality is spot on. Also I wanted a system which could be added to in the future and something which looked obvious and professional on the outside. These cameras have a robotic military targeting system kinda look and they look far more expensive than what they cost which hopefully gives the impression that you have serious security system (hopefully puttingoff wannabe intruders).I will be purchasing another of these cameras for the rear of the property but will probably go for the 2.8mm version as the 4 will be too narrow to cover the full span of the rear of the house. Thanks to Gary M for correction.

Superb camera. I already own a bullet version of this, however the turret is by far the better camera. Dome & bullet cameras both suffer from "spotlighting" with the IR, however don't suffer this issue with the turret.Software could be better, but it's as you'd expect - it functions, just a little clunky. Don't expect to be able to use this easily with Chrome or IE, until a true HTML5 implementation is available. For the money, you can't beat this.

Like my previous review of the DS-2CD2T42WD-I5, I really cannot praise these cameras enough! The build quality is superb, very heavy but reassuringly so. Adjustment is simple via one screw before you place the cap on and the end result is simply fantastic. Whether you want to monitor the cameras day or night, you won't be disappointed!

I now have three of these cameras installed at my home and will certainly be buying more Hikvision products direct from Amazon UK. I managed to get one camera working on my own but had issues with the other two. The technical support I received getting these working was first class, justifying the 5 star rating on its own.

Great camera for the money, excellent image quality.I have it connected via POE with about 30m of cat5 cable, no issues.Image quality at night is also very good, as where I live there is absolutely no light unless the moon is out.Very easy to setup and it is now supported by the Synology Surveillance software.

22.5.2017

Great camera, easy to mount on the wall. Works well in low light and interfaces nicely with my Synology surveillance station.I'm running it using POE and the instruction book could be a little clearer as to what sort / spec of POE injector is required.Thinking about buying a second one....

2.11.2016

Solid metal camera, really good infra red night vision. Easy to setup (I record to my Synology NAS). Slight lens distortion but to be expected with 2.8mm, I expect 4mm is better.

17.9.2017

Great quality camera, with solid build quality. Easy to configure and mount.

19.8.2017

Documentation is not the best but otherwise an excellent product.

27.4.2017

Great picture quality in daytime not to bad at night.
