Last year we went cycling around North West Scotland in the second week of October; the rain was torrential at times, and on a couple of mornings we woke up with thick ice on the tent. Wearing hats on the cold nights we were as warm as toast in these sleeping bags, usually ending up with nothing on by the morning because they were so warm.Another plus is that they are synthetic fibre so if they do get a little damp from condensation etc in the tent, there's little / no loss of loft and they dry pretty quickly.I carried these on my bike crushed into large Sea To Summit crush sacks (fully waterproof and indomitably strong) in crappy old front panniers; warm and dry for ten days camping!Fitting the sleeping bags into these crush sacks put the emphasis on 'crush'(if you have arthritis or weakness in your joints it may be a no-no); each night the sleeping bags were fully lofted by the time we'd eaten, taken a stroll and a beer, and were ready for bed.Last year we bought two of these for £22.64 each and two large (NOT extra large) Sea to Summit waterproof compression sacks for £25 a piece (Sea to Summit ~ Compression Sack, Large - 20 Liter by Sea to Summit) giving a total cost of around £96. So that was two, very warm, 4-season sleeping bags, kept dry, that were easily carried in panniers, in NW Scotland in October (I know I mentioned that last bit at the beginning but it bears repeating)! At this writing the large compression sacks are vastly expensive as there's only a seller listing from the US; I'd expect that to change on and off and, of course, the newer version(s) may be listed slightly differently; same for these sleeping bags too (certainly they will be a lot cheaper in the summer).

A while ago, I slept outside on the streets for charity. This sleeping bag was a last-minute purchase because I was worried my other bag was too thin. This bag is by far the best cold-weather sleeping bag I've ever owned, at an incredible price. I'd spent a while looking for other four-season bags, all at two, three or four times the price, but this one puts them all to shame. It was about 10 degrees outside and whilst I'd slid the bag into a reflective survival blanket I had no tent, only a groundsheet and a mat below me. I was uncomfortable - the mat wasn't really thick enough for what I was doing, more suited to yoga than sleeping. But hell, I was warm. The sleeping bag says that its upper comfort limit is 7 degrees - that is to say, above seven degrees centigrade, you'll be too warm. The lower comfort limit is minus nine degrees, which I can well believe. Most of the people around me were wrapped up in coats, thermals and the like. By the time I'd settled in, I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt and didn't even have the hood =of the sleeping bag up and I was toasty warm. I had a reasonably decent night's sleep, all things considered. Now, this bag isn't small or light; it's about 2.2kg and doesn't fit inside a small rucksack. It compresses, but fits into a 'bag for life' from a supermarket - just. But if you need to be warm, don't bother spending £200+ unless you need something smaller - this is an awesome synthetic sleeping bag.

Have had this bag for two days now and and already im quite or very impressed. For just over twenty pounds delivered, which is what i paid for this bag, (its excellent value).I used it in the field last night, it kept me nice and warm and snug. It wasnt very cold last night granted, its August, but this August has turned out to be one of the coldest on record. This bag will cope with cold weather well when i use in very cold British weather, (that's for sure).Ive owned dozens and dozens of sleeping bags from very expensive ones to cheap, with various specs from extreme cold ratings to those rated for jungles etc etc, and this one, in my opinion, compares favourably to some of the better ones with extreme cold ratings that ive owned over the years. Its quite well made and has bags of room, plenty of room. The inside of the bag is brushed cotton and it feels nice and comfortable next to the skin. There are good zips and baffles etc etc to keep the cold out also, they work very well. Im very pleased with this bag, for just over twenty quid delivered you cant go wrong. The only drawback with this sleeping bag for me is its weight and bulk, however it can be packed down to quite a small size using the compression stuff sack provided.Four and a half stars out of five. A very good sleeping bag and very good value for money.

This is a very good sleeping bag for it's price with many features and straps to isolate entirely your head from your body as for the warmth not to leak outside your shoulders-neck.I am 6feet2 and i was very comfortable inside,i really appreciated the extra room in the foot box as well as the space for a small pillow or a bulky cloth on the hood.I used it under 5C and i was very warm inside. The inner lining could be better but is feels good as it is.As for the negatives,it is very heavy for a hiking trip and very bulky even when the well designed compress straps are fully pulled. The sleeping bag's size is really big. These straps do a magnificent job reducing the size but they should be morereinforced as well as the stuff sac since their job is so demanding.Mine are already starting to wear out. There's also an issue with the stitching as there are threads hanging all over the sleeping bag and many places where the filling is coming out.At last, the zipper should be much bigger as it is hard to let yourself out in a cold morning while searching for a tiny little zipper that also clings to those threads from the poor stiching and sturdier to endure people rolling over at night.Of course there are some defects but overall it's primary job to keep you warm at low temperatures is pretty well done. Therefore 4 stars

As a scout I have owned a few sleeping bags in my time. This one is incredibly warm (in combo with a one man tent I was sweltering in February and had to unzip it) and very comfortable, two things I definitely want from a sleeping bag. The strapping inside is also fairly easy to use, being a million miles away from the contortion/bondage act that some manufacturers delight in torturing people with. There are a few minor quality issues that I have though. First off is the stuff sack. On the first one I ordered the tensioning straps ripped off of the bottom before I even got it out of my house. Cue a return to Amazon and 2 days later I has a new one. This one managed to survive until the second day of a four day expedition before the same thing happened again.Inside some of the stitching is a bit poor too and in one places has already begun to unravel. This has meant a few minor repairs. In summary this is perfect as it is if you don't want to condense it down (e.g. if you're travelling in the car) but if it needs to go in a rucksack on an expedition I'd recommend getting a new Stuff Sack (they're £6) or put it in a dry bag (which has the added advantage of keeping it dry in the rain/sleet/snow).

I have to say that this has been used several times now over the past month and i am very impressed with the results. The material and product is of very good quality and well put together. I have used in very cold weather conditions below 0 degrees celcius and have not noticed the temperature outside the sleeping bag even the slightest. In fact i woke and had to unzip the sleeping bag abit because it was getting too hot on one occassion. For the price you pay this is a really amazing bargain and it does exactly what it says on the tie.Only downsides on this were the left hand zip which wasnt mentioned on the description (which wasn't a huge problem) but the zip is abit stiff went trying to operate from the inside. So you have to put your hadn on the outside and pull it up or down.I did alot of searching around as i needed a sleeping bag that could cope with very low temperatures and by far there is no other available that is this cheap and does such a great job.I would definitely recommend this to serious hikers and campers for outdoor use in low temperatures.

Purchased this sleeping bag to climb kilimanjaro oct 2020. I couldn't afford a down sleeping bag so I opted for this one. It is a bit bulky compared to other sleeping bags however I was impressed with how warm it was. Even on summit night I was kept very warm so for that it gets full marks. The zip did keep getting caught and was a bit awkward sometimes and on my first night I turned it the sleeping bag and tore the inner lining near the hood. I am presuming this was a weak area for my particular bag and I'm hoping I will be able to stitch it up. I am only slim built and 5'10'' tall so it shouldn't have torn in my opinion.I fit inside the bag with ease and it is very comfortableThe compression sack is not strong and ripped on the first time I used it to compress the sleeping bag and it obviously needs to be stronger. My son also purchased one of these and he had no issues with it. If you are just looking for a bag that will keep you warm and cosy then this will do that, if your looking for small compact and light then there are better products out there.

This sleeping bag is absolutely amazing. Used it in mid November on the highlands(with "Gelert solo tent")Well, i guess i don't have to say much about the weather, Windy, rainy, cold.... miserable in general:)These sleeping bags saved me from a shivering night.Good design(not only meaning the colour, but the adjustable inside bit above the shoulders, the boot shapedlegroom....) Definately worth the cost(plus free delivery for prime members)The wrapped up sleeping bag is a bit big tho. If you're hiking, you may need an extra strap to attach it to your backpackor plenty space in your bag. (The folded/rolled up size is almost as big as a case of beer/24x0,33cl bottles/)Please ignore the "I was freezing and then the zip broke" review. The zip might be a bit tricky, but i had no problemswith mine even tho it was dark. You may need some practice how to use it:)In this category this is a really good sleeping bag.I'd recommended to campers, hikers, backpackers and whoever is on the road/off road.

I am sure there are better, lighter four-seasons sleeping bags than this one, but for the price I was pleased. It appears to be of good quality and packs down reasonably small (the compression bag helps a lot with this). It is very comfortable and roomy enough for someone of my size (five foot eight and 11 stone). The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because I am a bit sceptical about the “comfort at -6C” claim on the label. I used it recently in a tent when the night-time temperature was about 0C and felt warm but only just, despite having all the zips done up and the hood on. A couple of times in the night I awoke and thought “am I starting to feel a bit cool?”. However,I was lightly dressed, so a couple of extra layers would have fixed the problem. Wouldn’t want to risk it at -6C” though without an extra blanket or two. Also, the bag is a bit too big and heavy to be practical for most hiking/climbing purposes, although fine if space and weight are not issues.

I bought this sleeping bag specifically for a trekking holiday to Peru in March this year. The weather there drops quite considerably at night and I wasn't sure my bog standard sleeping bag would cut it, especially considering how badly I feel the cold. It was excellent! I was kept snug as a bug all through the night! There was enough room to move around even with the bag tapering off at the feet. It was great having the hooded bit (I could tuck a travel pillow in there to ensure it didn't get lost in the night!) and the drawstring around the top end to really keep the heat in/cold air out!One slight negative is the bulkiness of the sleeping bag. It wasn't heavy but it did take up quite a bit of room during the rest of the trip. However I didn't deduct a star for that as other reviewers had mentioned it already and, in all honesty, it was the temperature that was my main priority when looking for and buying a bag. Would definitely recommend this.

This is a nice sleeping bag, but I have to take issue with the rated temperatures that the manufacturers state their bags are rated down to. I used this bag in 8 degrees Celsius in the UK and found it quite comfortable, but even then, I was wearing clothes inside the bag,I would be very hesitant about using this bag in temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius. One of the problems it has, is whilst there is plenty of room inside, to keep you warm, the material doesn't have sufficient weight to place the bag in contact with your legs and feet. I found performance increased dramatically if another bag was placed on top of this to push the bag down to keep it in contact with your lower legs.As with most bags I have owned, the zip finally became permanently jammed and had to be broken in order to un-free it, rendering the bag no longer usable. In terms of value for money, it is superb and probably the best cheap sleeping bag I have ever owned.

Ordered this sleeping bag for the special purpose of taking it to Bestival on the Isle of White, in September 2010. Last year I used a sleeping bag given to me by someone else, and it wasn't warm enough during the night, which is why I decided to buy something which would hopefully keep me warm in the tent through the night.I chose this product because on reading the spec it looked pretty lightweight compared to other synthetic sleeping bags, and it's supposed to handle temperatures of below 0.Indeed, it was very warm inside, it didn't add much weight to my belongings, and I'm very pleased with this buy, it served me well during the 4 nights i spent in nature!A couple of friends brought down sleeping bags which are a lot lighter than this one (which is just under 2 kg).But they paid more than £100 for theirs, so it's not really comparable.I recommend this product, certainly for a British end of summer night sleep.E

The sleeping bag seems excellent, but i had ingored reviews on just how big it was when packed. As an outdoorsman warm sleeping bag is an essential, but like others have said how enormous it is when packed.i read other reviews but chose to ingore them thinking it will fit in my bag, but well.... a lesson learned. This is no way at all a negative towards the bag, its function is good, size is good but the zipper not so much. Its certainly not designed keeping space saving in mind, i have some major work trying to compress this enough to the point it will fit in my bag, along side the rest of my sleeping system.120L military bergen users will have no problem packing this sleeping bag, anglers will be ok too. but those of you with assault style bags are going to struggle if you dont mind it attached to the outside of your bag, certainly not what i do, so i have some work ahead of me.

The bag is quite bulky, but nowhere near as large as some reviews state. It is as many others have said, a very comfortable bag. The compression bag is actually quite sturdy. It is an attractive colour.But..........That bloody zip is so frustrating. I appreciate that it needs small teeth to retain the heat, but please make it remotely possible to do up. I write this review after a wet and windy December camping trip on the north coast of Ireland. I was actually sweating buckets in this bag, unfortunately that was from the effort of trying to get into it and zip it up. I was quite cold as I couldn't get it fully closed, but not freezing as I would have been without it.I did eventually get it fully closed and it did feel warm, alas I was fraking freezing by that point so didn't feel the full benefit.Practice getting into this bag plenty at home before committing to it in the wild.
