I brought this tent for two reasons. Firstly it weighs 1.6kg and secondly it was under £30. Last summer I took trekking for two months, sleeping in it every night. If you're looking for a lightweight, cheap hiking tent to use in the summer, then you won't do better than this.Make no mistake; there are plenty of flaws in it. There's no fly sheet, except for over one half of the door, meaning that most nights the tent walls will slowly collect a significant layer of condensation, unless you sleep with the door open. So long as you stay away from the edges, then it'll survive all but the most torrential rain. However it is very susceptible to strong and even light winds,at one point causing me to pack up the tent at 1 in the morning to move to a less windy spot for fear of the whole tent being blown away. I also wouldn't envy anyone attempting to use this in the winter; the one time that it dropped bellow 0 at night the tent was as good as useless at retaining heat. When I woke the next morning the condensation had frozen on the inside of the tent, causing a hard inner shell. However, there are also strong positives, particularly if you're as obsessive as me when it comes to saving every gram that you might have to carry. The tent poles can be replaced by walking poles (which I'd recommend anyway), meaning you only need to carry the fabric and the pegs which weigh less than a kilo. Despite the name of the tent, this is much better when viewed as a very spacious one man tent than a two man tent. The whole tent can be put up in around 2 minutes with practise, meaning there's no time wasted in the rain. If it is raining it will do a good job of keeping it out and will dry the next day remarkably quickly. You'd be hard pressed to find a tent this good and this light for under a hundred pounds. In summary, this is not a tent for festivals. And this is not a tent to take into a storm. However, if you're looking for an incredibly lightweight tent for summer trekking and you want to spend less than £100, then this is the ideal choice for you. It served me well for 2 months last summer... and I trust that it'll do the same again for me this summer.

I bought this tent for the main reason of its pack size and weight which are both very small as I needed to strap it to the back of my motorbike. So if you want small storage and pack size this tent scores. It goes up very quickly (especially if you pre-tie the guide ropes), certainly you could do it in-way less then 20 minutes if you wanted to.Sleeping two whilst possible would be tight (not such a problem if you were already on intimate terms), especially if you were storing kit in there as well. The entrance is a tight fit for me but do-able and for one person has just enough room for you and your kit. In my opinion this tent is solely for sleeping in,if you intend to spend time in it because you day isn't filled it's far too small, but heh who does that anyway! that's why you are looking at it.I never suffered any rain whilst using it, the inside did not get damp and and the mesh doors let it breathe. How it would fair in a storm I could only guess, but basically this is a summer season tent which if it only lasts one season won't break the bank.It packs away easy, is light, goes up easy, it's cheap and it will give you somewhere to sleep for 2/3 nights (or longer if you are harder then me).I suspect it won't last years and will probably suffer in a storm (but you buy what you get). My mates laughed at me because it looked liked something from a toy store (but when I was loaded up I didn't look like a vagrant), so if nothing it will give you something to laugh over.Four stars because the two man bit is pushing it a bit.Yes it packs small.Yes it is light loaded.Yes you will be able to sleep in it alone even if you are over six footbut not seven!Yes you will be able to sleep two if you are small and friendly (very) and have little kit.Yes it will keep you dry, but a storm I don't know...perhaps.Yes some people will laugh at it and you!No it will not make you attractive to the opposite sex!Hope this helps.

I bought this tent because I needed a light and small tent to fit on the back of a bike for a bike trip in France. This tent is fantastic and definitely worth the money if you are willing to considering the following warnings:This tent will NOT withstand 80mph winds. I know this because we actually got stuck in a "hurricane" and the winds were actually recorded at 80mph! The tent did blow down, however, it was probably slightly due to our lackluster tent pegging. The structure of the tent is purely held up by tension from the tent pegs- there are only two rods for either end of the tent to give it some lift, the rest is string and pegs- if you know you will be pitching your tent on harder ground, get something with more structure, or bring a mallet. The tent is surprisingly quite water resistant, BUT (!!), even if it is a dry night, you will get a bit damp because the condensation (like in any tent) sticks to the inside of the tent, and then rains back down on you. If there is a chance for torrential rain, buy an extra fly sheet, or pitch under a very dense tree. We experienced one heavy rainstorm which the tent did very well in, but then the next night in the "hurricane"...well we got flooded and blown over.If you can get over these warnings, then you're golden, this is a great little tent. Plenty of space for two people, and some luggage. And the bottom sheet is totally waterproof so don't worry about pitching on damp ground. Very easy to pitch, takes less than 5 minutes. This tent is a real trooper!

If you're drinking heavy at a festival then it's okay. I stayed dry even after cutting a 1x2ft hole in the top of it to let the heat out and then patching it up VERY badly with a bin liner and electrical tape the night before a huge storm. It looked an absolute mess from the outside from the moment I set it up, very thin and it sags due to having no support up the middle. You might have to keep re-setting the support ropes at both ends because the tension on the poles is holding the whole thing up. The pole in the entrance is a bit of a nightmare but you CAN get round it.It IS actually pretty spacious, once you're in you've got just enough room, I'm 6ft 2 and I fit in okay cos nobody sleeps like a pencil, managed to have two big bags by my side and sections in the corners for drinks, non alcoholic drinks, food and clothes so it was all pretty okay on the inside and was a hell of a lot comfier than it looked. In fact it is as comfy as it looks in that picture, but in real life it doesn't look anything like that. This all sounds negative I guess but I survived 4 nights at UK Tech Metal Fest which got pretty messy and was relatively comfortable. For the money I don't mind it, it'd be nice having something more substantial and I definitely wouldn't say it held more than one person but I'd actually consider getting this again next year if it was still the cheapest tent available.

This product is great for anyone looking for a very small, easy to put up tent, who uses it for the odd night. It does require very flat ground to be perfectly set up, but will go pretty much anywhere. It has (just) enough room for an airbed, if you don't mind the edges getting a bit damp and the way the doors are organised is great if you want relatively easy access. waterproofing is good which it had to be for the first night that I used it!the down sides are that die to the way the poles are organised, you can occasionally struggle with getting out.It has not porch which is probably the biggest downsize - it does mean that shoes have to go with in with you, or out in the wet and though marketed as a 2 man,it is more a 1 and a half man - great for 1 person + kit, but you would have to like your camping partner a lot to stay in hereoverall, a good tent. some space issues and would be masses better with a porch if the design would allow it. for the price and size when packed away - you could probably have 2.Though it is a great tent, especially for a heathen like me who usually uses icelandics, I would not buy another one of these, mainly due to the space.hope this small essay is somewhat useful! :P

First of all compromising is a must when you choose a tent by weight: this one, being under 2kg of weight, has no double layer and it is not big! Also for people not accustomed with camping, you need to be aware that this shape of tent is kept in place by two vertical poles and this feature limits the easiness in going in and out, it could be a problem if you are big or very tall. Also it is a bit more complicated to setup if you are a beginner and alone compared to an igloo shape one.Despite being single layer, it survived well a night of decent rain, but you will have condensation inside when you keep everything shut, the little ventilation system seems not being enough. My suggestion is to add a taurpaulin to it,I used one to setup a little porch in front of it using walking poles and one of the vertical poles, and if you buy one of the right size you can make it working as a second layer against torrential rain.I have used only once so I cannot say anything on the durability, it looks a bit fragile and it would be better handling it with care.

If, like me you are a fairweather fell walker who likes to sleep wild, and looking for a lightweight one man shelter that can utilise your hiking poles then look no further than this. Dispose of the heavy supplied steel poles and you have a 1kg super cheap bit of cloth that will keep the bugs and odd rain shower at bay . Beats a bivy bag anytime!Dont worry about the fact it looks and feels like a wendy house playtent as there is usually nobody around to comment.high in the fells. Sure it has condensation issues and flaps even in strong breeze as some users have reported ,but, hey where can you get a 1kg tent for £20 odd quid?Do check weather carefully before you venture though or you couldfind yourself in a survival situation.

I bought this tent for a european festival. I purchased it due to it's size and weight. Obviously small and light can be quite scary things to go for if the rain decides to come down heavy, but, i'm pleased to say that this little trooper did well. 3 nights with moderate rain, no problem. It's only 1 skin so there are obviously some "sweaty walls" but hidden under the hood at the top of the entrance are air vents and honestly, erecting it was easy as you like. Easily big enough for a couple, it's a great tent for a weekend or two and will no doubt get multiple uses out of it. Or if you want one free, there's one still standing in Meerhout, Belgium!

This tent is set at a good rate because I was about to go on hike with my buddy and it just arrived before I was about to go and when I packed it in my bag it fitted so good I could take my pillow :) and that was a good thing . When I first pitched it I thought that a couple of guy ropes and pegs were missing , but they didn't include them so that was a downer but I just went and bought some more but over all I could fit all my kit in it so that was handy

i got this tent i did not like it in its current state. if you want this tent to last you will have to go over it with a silicone waterproofer and i would recommend using a tarp over it. i find value for money but a lot of modification are needed before you can make it durable.

27.8.2013

This tent is okay for the money. But it isn't really much good in the rain as it has no fly sheet (of course it rained when i used it). I would find it very snug if I had another person in this tent with me and I'm a slim 5' 4" woman! Two man? can't see how that would work...

It's very light and takes up very little room in the pack. It was a bit of a faff to put up and get the tension needed. Also if you had two people in the tent one of you is likely to get soggy. It did survive a torrential downpour, so all in all a good little tent.

this withstood some fairly harsh conditions in scotland. It saved my friend's and my a$$ luckily. I think it's more suitable as a kid's playtent than an actual tent to go camping in. it exceeded my expectations though. would however use a better tent next time.

24.4.2019

Quick and easy to put up, however, for me, I found this really suited for 1 person more than 2, as with 2 your close to the side of the roof. But for me alone, this is a great tent, bought back childhood memories as used to have an army version of this tent.

This is not a tent for serious camping but it is great for kidsmin the garden..for the price it is good enough to leave out when raining not torrential downpours though, my granddaughter loves her adventures in it..so I am a happy nanna!
