A notebook is only as good as the paper so I did a pen and pencil test - see photos attached. The performance was quite astounding. As expected no bleed-through with the pencils and fine-liners and only minimal bleed-through with the fountain pen shading. Quite astounding was no bleed-through with the Indian ink. But most important of all no feathering with the fountain pen nor the dip pen. I've see worse bleed-through than this on much more expensive paper. Using the dip pen with Indian ink was pushing my luck a lot: The nib was particularly scratchy on this paper to the extent that I was unable to do calligraphy but the paper coped well with the Indian ink.

These are great books and I have started using these rather than my trusted Moleskine because of the flexibility that is offered. I have one of these with squared and lined paper, which just means my jottings and my accounts can be kept separate - I find this much easier to find the stuff that is really important to me and I use time and again.Recommended

The paper is thin so my black fineliners go through the pages. However, if you're not using such inky pens this shouldn't be an issue. Aside from that it is just what I was looking for.
