I was blown away with Helix Oxford pen, it arrived earlier than I expected so it was sat in my letter box all day and it wasn’t until I decided to throw the junk mail away I realised that there was a box in a small bag, I must say that it was boxed because I had purchased the super forgotten the name and I have two, dryden polished black and gold thing that you can see the extrusion lines in the gloss and the cap has had the gold nob in the top pressed in too hard and markedly left an impression on the top, constructive criticism over, the £6 Helix Oxford writes so much better than the dyden and £30 cheaper, the dyden scratches along nicely.

I haven't used a fountain pen since school, but it's coming up to Christmas card writing time and I thought I would try a fountain pen to see if it made that onerous task any easier. The pen that arrived is a much darker blue than the one in the photo; very dark blue-black, but that's fine. For £5.99 you get a weighty, well-built fountain pen and several blue cartridges. Excellent value for money and the pen feels satisfyingly heavy and good quality. I think it will be more robust than my daughter's Parker Vector fountain pens which sometimes crack where the barrel screws to the nib. I did struggle to push the cartridge in and it needed a surprising amount of force to break the seal.

I am on a project to restore my handwriting after years of exams which have scrambled it. I found this pen which is similar to the beloved one I had at school. It is absolutely perfect in every way! It has a lovely weight to it, not heavy but comfortable enough to give it substance and a feeling of quality. The nib allows the ink to run smoothly and freely and has just enough drag to give that lovely feeling of satisfaction as you create your perfect letters. I adore this pen and am so grateful that it was such a good price as I am having to spend a lot on the house right now which means I don't have anything spare to spend on myself!

This pen is rather nicer than I expected. It has a real 'heft' to it that makes it feel really nice to use. It doesn't feel cheap at all, even though it's very well priced, and there are several chrome trim items to liven up the design and contrast with the dark blue and black plastic barrel. The clip is solid and smooth, strongly sprung.It comes with the cartridges you see in the photo, plus an extra one inside the barrel, which has space for a spare, which is handy. The blue ink is erasable if you have a standard eraser pen. I was surprised how hard a push the cartridges need to locate in the pen and was a bit worried the first time that I would break something.

I bought this pen because I am considering buying a high-end fountain pen and wanted to see if I liked using a fountain pen on a regular basis before splashing out on a more costly version. I am very impressed with this Helix Oxford pen. It is sturdy and substantial and has a good solid weight to it while being comfortable to use. The ink ran freely almost immediately, within a couple of strokes. The lid fits nicely onto the pen (on both ends) without wobbling. The build quality seems very good for the price. I would definitely recommend this pen to anyone looking to use a fountain pen without spending much on it.

I dropped my last version of this pen, and so replaced it with exactly the same one. It's a nice weight, the ink flows well, and it's comfortable. All went swimmingly until the cartridge ran out and I tried to put in one of my standard cartridges which fitted the broken pen, and discovered they don't fit this one. Clearly the 'standard' cartridge is nothing of the sort, and now I don't know whether to try to source the new size, send this pen back and buy one the cartridges fit, or what. Also, there doesn't appear to be any way of contacting the seller - most unhelpful!!

Some are saying the price is "reasonable". At that price, consider it FREE!The pen is wonderful. I am a pen freak and keep trying to find the ultimate pen that writes well without drying up. I have had the first pen for 3 months now. I use it once or twice a day. It never dries.It also handles well, there is a certain heaviness when holding it, which I like. It is like someone asking you to write ...Suggestion: a few other colors that match current ink colors. I wanted a green pen and a red one.Thanks for a good product.

I was reluctant to purchase this item after seeing so many people complain about the pen cutting out constantly on them, however I decided to take the risk and it was definitely worth it. The people complaining about the pen cutting out on them either haven't put the ink on correctly or just simply don't know how to write properly. The ink is very nice and writes like a charm. Good purchase if you're looking for an ink pen. Even comes with extra ink for you to continue writing.

A nifty little pen. Took a while to get it going but then I remembered a trick from years ago and took the cartridge back out, dipped the nib into the open end, replaced it all and the ink started flowing nicely.Not at all scratchy like I remember the fountain pens of old. Nice smooth and fine writing. Comfy to hold with a nicely weighted body that doesn't tire your hand out. Great price too.

My ten year old daughter was delighted with this fountain pen as her previous one had quickly deteriorated, developing a scratchy nib. This Helix Oxford Fountain pen was a delicious get to write with! It writes smoothly, is a perfect size for a school student and looks smart too. The only slight negative was that we couldn't fit a spare ink cartridge inside the barrel of the pen.

I love the pen , no doubt about it makes writing a lot more enjoyable as it is something different comparing to the ball point pens, although the only thing that did disappoint me a little was the pen pressure, there wasn't much of a difference when u applied light amount of pressure comparing to a heavy amount. But it is great for a first fountain pen

This pen takes me back to my school days, I learnt to write with a pen like this, so I was very happy to receive it.It writes lovely - dare I say it writes better than the Mont Blanc fountain pen that I used to have (that always used to leak), so for a low price pen you can't go wrong - perfect for school bags or an everyday pen.

Absolutely love it.It feels just good writing with it, the ink flow is perfect, it does not leave spots, and the pro e is just right!The only thing I would have expected, is for the pen to be long enough to hold a reserve in the back whilst loaded with an ink cartige, but it doesn't matter too much compared to the other pros

I would highly recommend this pen. My 11 year old daughter has never written with a fountain pen before and found this really easy and comfortable to use. She really likes it and her handwriting is lovely in it.Such a great pen for the price.Its even made me get my old fountain pen out and start using it again!!!
