My dad loves his whiskey, and he's always on the lookout for new brands to try. He usually opts for a Scots whiskey, or an Irish whiskey, and rarely chooses bourbon. However, when he got the opportunity to try this bourbon from Bob Dylan, he couldn't wait to give it a taste. We have never spent upwards of £30 on any whiskey, so we were curious to see what this £60+ bourbon would taste like. Firstly, the bottle looks great. My dad likes to keep most bottles he has and puts them in his pub shed, so this will certainly look the part on his shelf. The design of the bottle has been very well thought out, and it certainly makes the bourbon look worth its money. Now, as for taste, my dad says it is a nice bourbon, but a little underwhelming. My dad doesn't like whiskey to be too hot, and this one does burn the pallet a little. Although my dad does like it, I don't think it will be his go to from now on, and he still prefers a blended whiskey, or a single malt. He says that the taste is nice, but not too different to ones he has tried before, which have been much cheaper than this one. Personally, I cant see how this is worth upwards of £60, but I am no connoisseur, nor is my dad. He likes it, there is no doubt about that, which is why I have still given this four stars, but for the money I think we expected more. The bottle looks great, and it will become a collectors piece, but as for the tipple itself, we expected more and would have preferred less burn.

Then out of curiosity I tried it straight and was shocked by how good I found it. All the harshness that I found with previous whiskeys isn't present here. It's so smooth and even to my newbie pallet, tastes of something other than tree. I introduced the brand to many of my friends and every single one so far has stated that it's the best bourbon they have ever tasted. First glass just coats the throat. No burn or loss of breath, it just glides down and leaves a warm feeling with a note of self satisfaction. Tastes better than some that I have paid more than twice as much for. Forget tasteless session drinking or delicate snifter drinking, this is one of those drops that you can just enjoy Really smooth with a nice and subtle medium level rye 'bite'. much body, and very smooth. Nothing about it is unpleasant. So easy to drink absolutely gorgeous flavour. more of a whisky man than a bourbon drinker as many bourbons are a little too sweet for my taste. The bourbon does not taste spicy for my taste, rather gentle and soft. The flavour is sweet, fruity, slight hint of toffee as an after taste and oak. I love it, but my only disappointment with it is that the flavour is quick, strong, delicious BUT doesn't last long on the tongue. Which is my only gripe. But don't let that persuade you otherwise, if you're new to bourbons then this is a good starting point.

I'm mostly am Islay drinker, so for the most part bourbon is an afterthought for me, though I have tried many. From the first taste of Heaven's Door it's apparent that this tipple is a cut above.First impressions are good before the bottle is even opened, with an attractive design showing Bob Dylan's beautiful metalwork on the front, and some nice embossing of the name on the side. Truly a classic bottle which will no doubt delight anyone fortunate enough to be gifted this whisky, and one that puts me in the mood to relax.Easy drinking for shooting and sipping, the spirit itself has a thick and syrupy character with minimal alcohol burn. I get a very pleasant mint, sweet green apples and maple syrup on the nose which reminds me of aged Nikka blends. On the palate the mint transforms into herbal cough drop which lingers to the finish. On first try, the flavour was more dominated by the sweet maple syrup note, but after a couple of weeks on the shelf with some air in the bottle, the more complex flavours came through. Worth the wait for sure, but frankly impressive on every visit regardless. When I drink bourbon I usually enjoy Woodford Reserve or Four Roses if I can get it, but for me this has taken the top spot in that category. Definitely a bottle I will replace when it's emptied, and one I wholeheartedly recommend to even Scotch diehards.

I prefer bourbon over scotch any day, having more of a sweet tooth and, ultimately, preferring the flavour. Putting it bluntly, this is the best straight bourbon that I've ever had the pleasure to try. The flavour is amazing. Some bourbons need mixers due to their harshness, but not this one. The flavour is smooth and you certainly get hints of the vanilla and other flavours in it. It tastes crafted rather than simply made in a factory like other bourbons, with no chemical or synthetic flavours or scents to it.I have to raise my glass to Mr Dylan. This is a perfect bourbon which is extremely enjoyable to drink neat.A review of this wouldn't be complete without mentioning the bottle, which I understand is decorated with Mr Dylan's own iron work. I've really come to appreciate how multi-talanted he is; musically, as a distiller and metal smith. Often others get credit for their versions of his songs; All Along the Watchtower & Hendrix, being a fine example. I look forward to enjoying a glass of this listening to Dylan's greatest hits to really appreciate the artist to his fullest.

This arrived in a secure padded box; the bottle is a unique style long bottle with Dylan's Black Buffalo Ironworks gates creation replicated on the label adding to the unique look, the bottle has a small leaflet around the neck giving a brief rundown of the history, blend and creation of this Bourbon. After opening it up it was time to give it a taste, the aroma is slightly sweet with a vanilla undertone and earthy summer mix, pleasant but not overwhelming. I normally drink Bourbon over ice but did try it neat to get the full untainted experience; this is very easy drinking Bourbon avoiding any nasty bite to it while warming the mouth and leaving a smooth after taste, the initial flavours breaking through are the vanilla and a sweet caramel toffee mix and very pleasant.Overall this is extremely nice Bourbon, I am not sure and it does not indicate how much input Bob Dylan had in creating this in the collaboration but it certainly is a first class Bourbon I am really enjoying over the festive period and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Firstly, this bottle doesn’t come in a gift box of any sort, so if you were to give this product as a gift, you would need an additional gift bag/wrapping to present this in. As for the bottle It is quite elegant. I love the simplicity yet details of the silhouette design on the front and the logo imprint on the cork stopper on the top of the bottle. All of these details and aesthetics help Heavens Door truly stand out as a premium bottle of bourbon.I Willa admit, the Tennessee bourbon is very smooth and delicate in taste. There is certainly a lot of depth of flavour in comparison to competitors that I have tried in the past. It would truly be a shame to mix this bourbon, though I have also been enjoying it as part of an Irish style tea which has been delicious too. It is no surprise when this product has won several awards. A truly sweet, complex and flavourful partnership with Bob Dylan, worthy of a 5 star review in my books.Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! :)

This bottle arrived in an Amazon box, it doesn’t come in a gift box so if you are buy it as a gift you’ll need a have something to wrap it in.The design on the bottle is inspired by gates that Bob Dylan welded himself. The bottle is very slim from front to back and I feel could get knocked over easily so I am very careful where I stand it.The actual bourbon is fabulous, I am a bourbon drinker and I prefer it neat, this doesn’t disappoint. It has a lovely smooth taste and very drinkable. I have never spent this amount of money on a bottle of bourbon but I must admit it is worth every penny and would buy a bottle without thinking twice. I am a coeliac and though this is made with small grains it is gluten free as it is distilled and aged for 7 (or 8)years in new American oak barrels. This is a nice gift for any Dylan fans out there and also a great gift to yourself. I will be raising a glass at the stroke of midnight this evening and wishing for a better 2021, cheers :)

If Bob Dylan really does drink this Heaven's Door Tennessee Straight Bourbon on a regular basis then it might explain his singing voice, this is very powerful stuff. There's subtlety here too but the overall effect is still like being punched in the mouth with a honey-dipped boxing glove. There's a sweetness like warm honey that you might not expect and that's over an oaky base that's almost Cognac-like. It's lovely stuff, but there's a mule-like kick in there too. It's too good to dilute in cocktails really, but it's so flavourful it would stand up to most mixers. All it really needs is some ice and a log fire but both of those are optional. To be honest I've never been a Bob Dylan fan and don't care much about celebrity endorsements but this is extremely good Bourbon and really worth a try - if you can afford it.

Ok, it is AMAZING! And I am not a fan of bourbon! It was a bitter heavy drink in my opinion, and not one I would see myself sip on..maybe in cocktails, but not on its own...this was till I had a bit of this - it has it all, woody and smoky notes, almost cherry hint, with some bitter sweet undertones, golden colour in your crystal glass, rich and velvety, deep masculine overtone, with mellow and whispery notes...loved it! This is what I am pointing at!BEsides, the bottle is a piece of art too! It is the bottle you give to your business partner, your dad after a long period of not seeing pone another or just have it in your bar at home and enjoy by the fire, in the evening watching the day slowly burning down, just as the logs in your fire do... a drink with a story and a character! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This Tennessee Whisky is indeed beyond what I expected. I thought this will be one of those unbearable strong whisky drinks that take me a lot of courage to drink. This just feels tasty and moderately warm. Of course it does leave me with that bubbly feeling down my throat but it is just warm to an appealing extent.Apart from the non-intense and overall sweet taste. This whisky comes in a very well-designed bottle. If I am to evaluate the design of this bottle, I would say it would be among the major reasons for me choosing this drink over others. It is indeed a masterpiece and worth observing. With a lovely bottle presentation and well-crafted taste, this Heavens Door Tennessee Straight Bourbon made me change my overall idea about whisky, which used to be a no-no.

Wow! I wouldn’t usually buy alcohol at this price, it’s well out of my price range but my husband does enjoy bourbon, usually another very well known Tennessee brand and he’s been converted. He said the taste of this is very nice, a smooth and lasting flavour without being overly harsh, though it’s a sipping bourbon and “to mix it would be to ruin it” so this bottle will last him quite awhile. I did try a small taste but it’s very high percentage so would put me on my back to drink a glass. The bottle comes with a small booklet giving information about the other varieties available too however the print of the awards were too small to read which I was quite interested in.

As someone who THINKS they don’t like bourbon I can honestly say I found this delicious. It has a smooth, delicately sweet flavour with an underlying subtle spice that comes through at the finish. It is great sipped neat, great over ice and great with a little ginger ale if you want to make a linger drink. It doesn’t come in a box, rather the bottle comes “naked” with the image of Dylan’s home crafted gates on the bottle. If you collect Dylan or bourbon merchandise this will instantly appeal, even if you drink the contents and simply keep the bottle as it is that decorative and meaningful.

I ordered the Heavens Door Tennessee Straight Bourbon, Developed in Partnership with Bob Dylan, 42 Percent 70 cl.This bourbon has a smooth, rich taste of vanilla that slides nicely down the back of your throat. I drink this neat and find it a great treat to have before bedtime. It can be drunk with or without water. With it being developed by Bob Dylan himself, it really sets a very high bar for this bourbon and I can say, it certainly has met that bar. It is however, quite an expensive treat! The bottle itself is a work of art, almost a shame to drink it!

Admittedly I wouldn't have spent this much money on booze if it hadn't been distilled in Mr Zimmerman's garden shed. But I treated myself at Christmas and it's really very nice. A Bourbon for sipping neat, although it went down well with a splash of water too. For the quality the price is about right, and you're left with a nice bottle with a design inspired by Dylan's welded gates that he also makes in the shed, that can sit on your record shelves and remind you of the time you spent over 60 quid on a bottle of alcohol you polished off in two days flat.
