I bought this for my nearly 2 year old, a travel cot which could be used at the grandparents home but was not a permanent feature. I was not expecting much, I thought even if it lasts 1 year I will be happy! Firstly it is not completely light weight when folded but also not weighing too much. I can carry this for probably for like 5 mins before I need to change hands (important for those who may need to take it via public transport or if the car is not nearby). The materials seem fairly decent, I have seen better but that quality is at a premium and this is very cheap in price, so no surprises when I opened it up. It opens really easily and closes easily to, however, make sure you take time folding the unit down properly, I can see this breaking if you forgot to unlatch all 4 push button clips. I have no problems with it and confident it will last so just take your time and ensure you follow all the steps. You will need a mattress, this is a must, I just bought the Hauck £25 mattress and my daughter has slept fine on it. You will need a flat surface (the level of the floor is irrelevant, works on carpet and wooden floors) as the central part of the cot bed has a middle leg which needs to sit on the floor or the central area will not be supported.Do not put any weight on the frame when you are lowering or picking up your little one, this could break it. My daughter was inside and leaned on the bars and mesh and it was fine, but my weight is much more than hers so I can see an adult weight breaking this.A lot of this is down to common sense and I can not say I am overly cautious, I have just got used to checking it twice before folding and not leaning on the frame. It feels very sturdy, cannot see this toppling over. I would buy it again, this is only designed for occasional travel use, I would not recommend this as a daily substitute for a wooden cot.Hope you found this helpful.

I imagine that this may be bought by grandparents like me, all over the land, who don't want to buy again a big hard wooden cot such as they used for their own children. It's tricky to find storage for those bulky old pieces of furniture, plus they too were tryingly awkward to erect, particularly the ones with sliding sides. So this looks like it fits the bill. And so it does, as long as you approach it in a cool calm fashion; a tall order I know as we all may imagine we can ignore the 'destructions' and work it out for ourselves...Although you might need it in a hurry, there really is no alternative to making the cot in the very way they lay out in the pictures. It just won't work if you go off piste - the whole thing becomes an increasingly frustrating exercise. I know because that's what I did. So take as read you have to diligently do as you are told and it will work in a flip. You get the knack of squeezing the joints to collapse or build the cot, they are under the rail padding and you have to feel for them. (This is beginning to sound a bit weird!)The Hauck Dream'n'Play cot is really, really good. It will usefully double up as a playpen too which is a big plus. The cot feels substantial and looks attractive. No one hurts themselves bashing into it, as it is padded and made of a waterproof type material that will be very easy to keep smart. You have to buy a mattress as well - I chose a cossato

Worth 5 stars really, but like all travel cots, the mattress is not protective enough for babies, so you need to pad it with something or buy a pricey mattress, the latter defeating the point of being easily transportable, but this is a super travel cot indeed, with a base mattress that is stronger and softer than most others I've seen. Setting up and refolding it are dead easy too if you follow the simple pictures printed on the underside of the folding mattress. For all those people out there who write reviews about how difficult this is, please note that it is simply a matter of following the correct chronological order of the three steps, then reversing the order for folding it.To assemble: sides up,ends up, middle down.To fold away: Middle up, ends down, sides down.Job done in seconds, without any problem. If you change the order, or try to do all at once, you will waste your time. Also, the folded cot nests neatly into the mattress base (which is folded into a cuboid tube inside the carry bag.One last point, I have read contradicting reviews about mattress dimensions. I can confirm now that the open mattress is 120cm x 60cm. I can also confirm that a mattress a couple of cm longer/wider/shorter/narrower will also fit quite happily - so if you can't find the exact match, then a few cm won't be an issue.Great product ... now to test it on a journey!

I really like this travel cot. It's easy to erect and fold up. There's loads of videos showing you how as the instructions are poor when it comes to folding it up again. The instructions aren't great and the tab in the middle is important!!. I like the fact that it can't simply close by pushing the side sections upwards when erect and they only collapse when you've pulled the tab in the middle and the bars collapse when you press to unlock them.We keep our travel cot erected in the playroom / living room. It's narrow enough so it just fits through a normal width doorway to the kitchen. It's light weight and long enough for a 3 year old child. It's not very wide so your baby can't really play in it.The mattress that comes with it is very thin about 2cm in thickness. I bought a seperate one from a major supermarket website and it fits perfectly. I no longer have to go up stairs to put the baby in her cot. It makes life easier as she's such a light sleeper and rarely sleeps longer than 20 minutes.I have taken it with me when visiting family. It's easy to fit in the car boot (I don't have a large car) and I was happy knowing my baby wouldnt roll and crawl off a normal bed. Overall a fantastic buy.

We purchased this based on most of the previous reviews being very useful and it was a highly rated item. Our baby is 3 months old at the moment and average in terms of height and weight. The cot itself was extremely easy to assemble and you in essence take it out of the bag, place it on the ground, pull up the four edges and then push down on the base in the middle. It took about 2 minutes to assemble from out of the bag and from there you simply put the mattress that comes with it down across the bottom. The mattress is fairly comfortable and seems to be well padded. The base support also seems to have good structural strength and we have no worries about it collapsing or falling over.Overall, our baby has enjoyed sleeping in the travel cot and it is a quick way to prepare a bed for him when on the move. The only difficulty that some people may have is actually placing babies into the cot or taking them out of it as the cot is fairly deep in size. Otherwise we have no complaints about the travel cot and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a travel cot that is structurally sound and easy to assemble.

This only took a few days to be delivered and i am 100% happy with this travel cot.My Daughter has premature 1 yr old twin babies who are crawling and pulling themselves up on furniture.Obviously the babies cannot be unsupervised in our lounge (in case they try climbing sofas) so i brought this travel cot to have downstairs so the babies can be popped in there if my Daughter needs to pop into another room or answer the door.It arrived today and took seconds to open up, plenty of space for the babies to sit and play with toys in, both of them stood up in it and tried shaking the sides as they peered over the top yet this travel cot is well made so will withstand their tugs and pulls. They cansee through the mesh which is great as they dont feel shut away.We are hoping they can have their day time naps in here, there is more than enough space for both of them to lie down but i will need to buy a proper mattress as the one provided really is just a base for the travel cot which is too hard to sleep on, but i feel i have got a bargain here so i do not mind purchasing a new mattress.

Hauck travel cot arrived well packaged and is super easy to put up, took us literally a minute - we took a few more minutes to collapse the travel cot but that was because we didn't read the instructions (they are in picture format and it is so easy to follow, there are only 4/5 pictures and very straight forward). My partner advised the release buttons have a double knuckle so they collapse in the middle and then u squeeze them again for it to completely fold. The size of the travel cot is great and we opted for a Kit for Kids mattress, although it is not a travel cot mattress it fits amazingly and comes highly recommended by our local baby shop.We bought the mattress sheets from Mothercare which fit great! The travel cot comes with a carry sack and it is incredible the size of the travel cot when all folded up, partner advised it is not too heavy to carry either. We would definitely recommend.

Looked at loads of travel cots on the Internet . Eventually decided on this as ratings okay and looked good and strong. One thing I don’t get is the big price difference depending on colour, had selected this a couple of times on amazon only for it to go out of stock in that colour and then came back and was much more expensive. Waded through all the colours and picked the cheapest one .Wanted one that was big to last over several years which I think this will and to use as a play pen . Bought as a bed to keep at grannies so not used much. However it is very easy to assemble and out down. The mattress that comes with it is solid but very hard so buy a proper one .Like all travel cots a lot of bending to get baby in and out . Too heavy for travelling unless by car . I struggled to carry it with the handle but on the whole it’s a really good alternative cot .

Fantastic travel cot. I bought it for my 2.5 year old who still sleeps in a cot at home. I researched for a long time to find one that was big enough and also robust. I've borrowed a Baby Dan from a friend, which is a similar quality and size, but this one is easier to assemble. I also bought the additional suggested mattress, as the one included is very thin. You can bulk it up with towels/duvet if need be (ie. if you're travelling on a plane and don't want to carry too much stuff) but if you're travelling by car, it's definitely worth buying as the mattress is pretty light and comes in a zipped up bag.The only reason I gave the travel cot four stars instead of five is that there is no shoulder strap (the Baby Dan has one)and it's rather heavy to lug around without the additional strap for support. Regardless of this, I can highly recommend this cot.

It took awhile to convince me that I actually need a travel cot. We don’t travel a lot and when we do, I knew that most hotels provide a bed. Then I found this and thought- my daughter will be able to use it for few years and it’s an investment... so I ordered it.It’s fairly heavy, but it’s sooooo compact!!!! I unzipped the carry bag and took out the travelcot. I love that instructions are on the mattress that’s wrapped around the cot. That’s genius as who carries the instructions with them and who memorises them? It literally was so quick and easy I couldn’t believe it’s done! Then looking at the carry bag I thought- no way will it will ever fit back in there.... it totally did!!!I’m only now writing this review,as my daughter finally used it during a long weekend away. She slept really good!Verdict- it’s totally amazing!

First ever travel cot I bought and have no regrets. Bought the pale blue, green and yellow version in June 2010 for our 22 month old who is approx 81cm long. Lots of room. Really easy to put up and down, about 10 seconds, didn't even need to read instructions (there are 2 diagrams on the wrap around base anyway). Just make sure the sides and ends are "locked" in place properly before you put base in. Good solid base which is padded but like all Travel Cots it is a bit hard so we bought a cheap Ikea foam mattress for £19 and it fits perfectly. Really happy with this cot and would definitely recommend!! I was quite surpised at how heavy it is but having said that upon researching travel cots there are even heavier ones than this one weighing in at over 11kg.This Hauck one apparently weighs 9.9kg.

This travel cot is very easy to put up and take down and have done it on my own several times. It has the same dimensions as a cot so sheets and things are easy to get for it. The matress is thin as expected but I just use a quilted matress protector and my baby sleeps well in it. It is heavier than I expected it to be but is still very portable. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that I was expecting an infant insert so that I didn't have to reach so far down to put my 4 month old in and out which is a strain on the back! I don't think it's clear enough which travel cot has the insert. I bought the Waterblue one, which definitely does not have the insert which is a shame.Otherwise a great travel cot which I plan to use as a playpen when my baby gets older.

This is primarily used when we stay with grandparents so it hasn't had to do a lot of travelling yet. Our previous travel cot was a shorter one of a different brand, I didn't appreciate at that time that these things come in different lengths. Our son is tall and so we outgrew but this one should last until he is big enough to sleep in a bed. As I had experience setting up our previous one I didn't find assembly an issue, similarly I have no issues folding. As with most things it just takes a bit of practice and you get the hang of it. The actual cot feels good quality, study and our son has no issues sleeping in it on just the base it comes with.If we were using it for longer term sleeping I'd probably invest in the travel mattress.

We bought this cot for our wee girl. Previous reviews had stated that it could be quite difficult to put up, so we took our time trying to assemble it. After many minutes of frustration we came to conclusion that the product was broken. However, we then realised that we had ignored the instructions; when we actually followed them it went up easily. When it is up it's colourful and robust, although you'll need a deccent matress if you child is planning on sleeping in it. So... if you're a renegade who plays by their own rules and won't be bound by society's mores, this is unlikely to be the cot for you. If, however, you are happy following a four-part instruction then it will be up in less than a minute.

Travel cots is so compact and light that it is easy to take with me wherever I go. It can easily fit in the back seat or boot of my car and is far less cumbersome than the average travel system. And when i arrive, this compact travel cots take only a couple of minutes to set up and take up little space, which means i can usually fit them in my sisters bedroom when we visit or in the corner of a hotel room and i will always have an environment for my baby that I know is safe, comfortable and familiar for them to be in, making the chances of them being happy with their environment even greater. And when my baby is not sleeping,my travel cot can also be used for a safe place for my baby to play.
