This is a sure-fire hit with any Star Wars fanatic. I've been slowly subjecting my 4 year old son to Star Wars over the last year and he's over the moon with this impressively sized stormtrooper figure. It's a sturdy figure, not a massive amount of features in terms of movement but then again there never is on any star wars or similar action figures. they hold a gun and then you run around with them or set them up into battle poses!! At least that's what I did with them when I was a boy!The sounds on this stormtrooper really turn it into a fun toy to play with. A press of the button on his belt and his chest lights up with what looks like a tie-fighter symbol and the jet pack noises (quite shrill!)start up "Ready for action" and "Aerial Attack!!" comes the cry. He has plenty of phrases around the "Attack formation" battle theme.....my son loves this and has spent pretty much all the time running around pretending it is flying and bothering his sister no end by flying too close to her for comfort! There are also blaster and hand to hand noises - it all seems quite random but at least it's varied and it is keeping my son's imagination really well. We've not tried the app yet - he's a little too young I think and I don't really want my phone to get involved in flying attack games! If I manage to get my hands back on the figure and get the app set up then I will provide my feedback on that element too. I can see it being a hit with older children as many have their own phones these days.So 5 stars for this as it's not too expensive given the price of many similar toys (ref Star Wars lego being at least £50 for anything sizeable) and this is what I would call a proper toy - a robust solid figure with a realistic gun, a great detachable jet pack and lots of fun noises to play along with.****UPDATE....the app is awesome. Take videos of real life and have a variety of star wars fly by or blaster animations overlaid and then save them as mini clips on your phone. My son and I have had a riot of an evening filming mummy being attacked by CGI!

Toys. I loved them when I was young, and now I'm old it's always amazing to see how far the technology has come and depressing to think I can't play with them anymore (without suffering disdainful looks). I had a bunch of Star Wars originals when I was young - I was never fortunate enough to get the Ewok Village or any of the big sets, so had to make do with merging fictional Universes, meaning Darth Vader often encountered Orco on the way to Castle Greyskull, or Luke and Han would commandeer one of my various Starcom ships. I would add my own dialogue to play, as you do, but with this large figure much of the dialogue is done for you. This generic Stormtrooper has a bunch of phrases from the movies, along with blaster accessory and a variety of other sound effects. One of the cool things about it is that it makes a specific sound depending on how you move it - thrust it forwards for a blaster shot, shake it around for a zoom noise etc. It is pretty interactive, and it's the sort of thing I would have loved as a child. My only issue is that it's pretty big - I preferred my figures to all be around 6 inches ensuring a fair fight, but this guy is almost triple that size. It's a shame he doesn't spout some hilarious soundbite errors such as 'my spidey sense if tingling' or 'watch FOX news', and imagine the antics if it had some sort of VR sensor which recognized when it came into range with another Star Wars figure for customized extra speech - 'hubba hubba' when Leia is in its circumference for example. I should copyright that.

Aimed at ages 6+ this is an impressive ‘interactech’ Imperial Stormtrooper. I recently purchased a similar toy from Disney for my nephew and was interested to compare the two. One big difference is that the Disney version had buttons to make him talk – this trooper also responds to being pressed, but then makes random noises as you fly him around the room. The Disney one also has his blaster moulded to his hand – with this version, you can detach both the jet pack and blaster and adding either created different sounds. This also has less movement – the head moves and so do the arms and legs, but movement is limited and arms and legs cannot be bent.I will say that my nephew adores both and,in that sense, they are both good toys for Star Wars fans. However, although this has more modes (attack and flight – depending on whether you are using the blaster or jet pack), I think the sensors are quite hard to trigger at times. The actual figure is quite static and the blaster could be lost – as such, I think I prefer it moulded to the figure, as in the Disney version. I did find that this worked well, but was random in terms of the noises made and overall, I preferred the other version. However, this does certainly make more sounds and a great range of noises. I would probably rate this 3.5, my nephew gives it a 4.5, so I have compromised with a 4.

A nice toy passed to my niece’s son for testing. He’s six and loves it though he (like most kids) is probably not too careful so it may not last long! There’s certainly a difference between this model and others on the market in terms of function and quality. Like other reviewers I feel the movement of the model (suppleness) was a bit lacking but the plus side is that the equipment (backpack etc.) can be removed (it’s fixed in some other models). The sound system is good and that adds to the delight for any child. There are 65 different sounds including his reaction to flying and being shaken. At the end of the day it’s a great toy for any child, especially those with a vivid imagination. My son used to love a cardboard box and a bit of string! How times change! There is a Hasbro App available (on the App store) which allows you to make movie clips then the App adds special effects. I’m sure it’s good (and a great idea) but although I’ve downloaded it the six year old target researcher isn’t interested (yet!). That’s probably a good idea for older kids. All in all it’s a nice toy and will certainly be used (to destruction probably!).

This is the 12" sized Star Wars figures and is an official product of the new Star Wars universe movie Rogue One, which is released in cinemas next week. We are quite excited in our household about that, I can tell you.The figure is well packaged in the usual fashion and this packaging allows a prospective purchaser to try the voices, etc before unpacking. A great idea, but a good way to flatten the batteries. Luckily our figure worked perfectly and we didn't suffer any problems as other reviewers seem to have had. The accessories which come with the particular figure are a jet pack and a blaster. There are two modes, flying and...well,not flying so your figure will say different things if he has his jet pack on.The quality of the figure is very good and my ten-year-old was battling with this and his other 12" figures for several hours with only a couple of scrapes to show for it. After a while as a parent you get a bit fed up of hearing the same phrases constantly, but that is part of the fun, I guess.A fun toy that my son loves, what else is there to say?

This is a must-have for any Star Wars fan young or old or for any figure collector. My 6 year old son loves all action figures, he's seen Star Wars too - so was very excited to own his own Storm Trooper. Needless to say it has been a massive hit, he loves experimenting putting his back pack on and off and his gun - my only concern is that if he loses one of the pieces this will limit the figures features as the back pack and blaster trigger different modes when used. He's completely obsessed with this toy and wants others in the range - including more of these to make up a whole army.... wishing these were slightly cheaper to accomplish this but it's worth it in my opinion for the number of sounds and he lights up etc.Great fun, durable and providing a lot of entertainment for my son. Recommended. I shall be buying other characters.

A very well made Stormtrooper figure which should stand up well to the rough and tumble of being played with by even the most energetic child. Also suitable for collectors of course. The motion sensor works well, as does the change of modes when the different accessories are attached. There are a good selection of voices and effects which should keep the entertainment level up.The only thing that I may have liked would be the ability to select which sort of phrase is said, as when I was younger I would make up a story and I feel that appropriate phrases would help this along.Otherwise though, this is a very high quality toy which should stand the rigours of play and keep the interest levelhigh.

This is a large figure, about 32cm tall, very nicely made with good detail, a moveable head, arms and legs and a clip-on jetpack and blaster gun. He is powered by two AA batteries which are supplied. The stormtrooper apparently has a total of 65 sounds; these are quite loud. Sounds are initiated by a press-button on the stomach and further sounds are activated by a motion sensor, flight sounds when the stormtrooper is flying horizontally and battle sounds when he is shaken. The stormtrooper's chest also illuminates to show the different modes. Launched to tie in with the Star Wars Rogue One movie, I like him.

I don't know who loves this Imperial Stormtrooper more, me or my son!!! It is the real deal when it comes to design and sound effects. It is slightly articulated and with the press of a button you can get motion sensrory sounds. Moving and shaking, flying and twisting all produce sound effects. If you put the jetpack on , you will get flight simulated sounds and if you weapon up with the blaster, you will hear battle sounds. It is sturdy, well made and a good scale. The only problem is tearing yourself away from it to give as a gift haha!!!A big hit with any Star Wars fan, young or old! Well done Hasbro!

It’s a fairly big 12” figure that has 65 sounds (alterable by putting a jetpack on his back or a gun in his hand). The sound effects are annoyingly loud. They get repetitive very quickly. The figure has limited movement as his knees and elbows don’t bend. His head does move. It’s good but not amazing. The kids are happy with it.I've included a video I shot of it in its packaging before it was given to the kids. You can get a sense of the sound effects from my video.

My boys (ages 4 and 7) weren't particularly impressed with the toy initially, but as they have discovered the variety of sounds the trooper makes, they have become increasingly attached to it. They especially like the sounds he makes when they throw him. Considering how often and from how high this guy has been dropped, he has also proven to be respectably durable. In short, he's a winner!

This has been a success so far. Fortunately unlike some other actions figures it is fairly robust so it hasn't broken so far.It is quite interactive and looks nice. It has quite a lot of detail and as an official product it does seem accurate. It isn't amazing but as fun toy that is designed to be used it works well

This is a decent size and has many different phrases which are given by pressing the button or by motion detection. The description and reviews promised something pretty good and the actual toy surpassed them. My seven year old was delighted, and older brother kept 'just trying it' also - so an all round success.

I purchased this for my 5 year old grandson . When it arrived I was really surprised at the size of it and all the features for the money. It talks, makes sounds when the backpack is fitted and when the gun is attached. My grandson was thrilled with it. All in all, excellent value for money.

This figure is merchandise for the latest Star Wars film, "Rogue One". Whilst it is well made , I can't say that I am wowed by it. The motion sensor works, but the voices you get are quite random. I don't see how this enhances play. Collectors might be more pleased with it.
