The Hario is the classic pour over drip filter. I am a huge coffee fanatic and I have a variety of coffee making methods: Moka pot, Aeropress, Clever Dropper, Nespresso machine, Espro cafetiere and I always come back to the V60. This is the method I use to make my morning coffee every day at 6am - you don't have to be a rocket scientist and it's simple enough to use when half awake.Basic operation is as simple as the elementary design. Put a filter paper in the cone, place it on top of a cup. If you want, rinse the paper with boiling water. Add in coffee, pour water over the top until you've filled the cup. Its that simple! You can complicate the method with water temperature, ratios, weighing the water and timing your pours etc. But none of this is essential. That said, once you get started you'll soon want to learn all there is about making amazing coffee and that's the beauty. How much you learn and what you do is completely up to you. This is the coffee making method of the experts, it really does make some of the best coffee. The fact it's a filter method means you get crystal clear coffee with no sediment. The pour over method gives you complete control over everything you do.I've had a clear plastic one, which cracked a bit when put in the dishwasher but the red and white ones are perfectly durable. The smallest size is fine for a single cup, the bigger ones can be used in conjunction with a jug to make brews for friends.

I bought one of these to use in my workshop before I got a coffee machine and it made a great cup of coffee, with minimal fuss or effort.First off, I recommend you look at some videos online to find the best technique to use this. It takes a little bit of experimenting, but it is worth the effort. This has to be used with cone shaped filters and I recommend unbleached filters for a nicer taste. Place your ground coffee of choice in the bottom and then pour a little water over the grounds for an initial bloom of about 30 seconds, before gently pouring the rest of the water over in a circular motion. We used this over a cafetiere jug, to make enough for us all,but you can just as easily place it on a cup for an individual amount. When you've finished it is extremely easy to put the used filter, with the grounds in it, in the bin and then a quick rinse under the tap and you're ready to go again. This is the easiest way to make a really decent cup of coffee when out camping, when a machine isn't practical, or even if you just want to take a bit of extra time and make coffee where you have a bit more control over the flow and taste.A simple, but effective bit of kit that gives your caffeine kick with minimal hassle.

I have a ceramic V60 I use at home and got a plastic one so I could take it with me without fear of breaking. It's much lighter than the ceramic and it actually looks very good sitting next to the ceramic one too. Not quite as nice to touch and doesn't feel as nice, but the coffee it makes is just as good and there's no better coffee maker for the price. The red is a really nice deep shade, and the transparent one has lasted ages without scratching or getting dull - still nice and clear, almost glass like. Have bought two more now as gifts for friends who love them.

What an absolute doddle this is to use, and to clean. Makes a lovely cup of coffee with no hassle, and looks nice too. No wonder it won a Good Design award.I have one at work and one at home. If I want to make a latte or something else that uses espresso shots as a base, then I use an aeropress. If I want to make several cups at once I use a cafetiere. But if I just want one cup of coffee, either black or white, I use this.

I've messed around with all sorts of coffee makers at all sorts of price points, but this one is cheap, idiot proof, and makes a really good cup of coffee really quickly. Disposable filters means there is no grim residue at the bottom of the cup afterwards. The size 2 is best if you like a proper mug of coffee, rather than a tiny little cup.

Having brought the wrong coffee for my espresso machine, i looked for an alternative and this drip filter was perfect. Its the right size for a decent cup of coffee. Takes a lot less time than i expected and love it. Easy to clean, i can just rinse it under the tap. Filters can be brought everywhere so could not be better for what i need

Before I bought I doubt whether the plastic will melt, leave a scent or feel thin. I was so surprised that it is really great quality, very thick and sturdy almost like a porcelain but light as you expect from a plastic material. I highly recommend. It’s very practical to make coffee with it.

I'm really happy with this purchase. Combined with 100 filters it was less than a tenner and I'm getting great tasting coffee from it. It's so easy to use and clean. I buy freshly roasted beans and grind them just before using and the coffee comes out tasting fantastic. Recommended.

I need my coffee.... and taking my actual coffee machine away is not always possible, so this is a great little tool easy to use and all you need is coffee filter papers and ground coffee! Easy and light great for a coffee freak like me

Amazing product. I use this every day at work. Saves me a fortune in coffee purchases due to having a Starbucks in work. Bought with the 100 filters. Easy to use. Great tasting coffee. Everyone should have one.

Ordered a second one for home. This offers a quicker, cleaner alternative to a steel mesh dripper cone, the only drawback is using filter paper cones, but that makes it cleaner and better for the drain.

I'm using this to strain infused gin, works really well with the filters that you can buy separate,I feel the filters should come included but its nice to know you can buy more.

This coffee filter paper holder is great, it is sturdy and easy to clean and although I purchased it with the same brand of filter papers I think it would work with any filters.

I like the red color. Don't sure if it's the right way to use it. I combine it with the filter paper and they work very well. the bottom fits my coffee cup and kettle as well.

Excellent and economical way of making fresh coffee. My bag of special mail order coffee lasts twice as long as when I used a cafetiere and tastes even better.
