I have used this tripod about 10 times and it does allow you to get pictures you would have otherwise not have got. However the tripod has let go 3 times while on a vertical surface, twice while only holding a 205g point & shoot compact camera, luckily enough both times i managed to stop it hitting the hard concrete with my foot before it bounced off my foot onto the ground. The 3rd time it let go on a vertical surface it was holding my 495g DSLR, but because it had already let go twice before i had the neck strap around my neck.It can come in handy but don't use it with a heavier bridge camera or DSLR, it does let you get shots you would have missed but you should probably hold onto the wrist strap of your camera if you can. Also it does not stick to every smooth surface, like painted house doors and other things like that, it seems at its stickiest on glass, also its near impossible to remove the suction marks afterwards, i once stuck it to the mirror and the patio door windows as a test and i have still not been able to remove the marks 3 months on, so i would certainly not stick it to my car bonnet.I mainly bought it because i like to use suction tripods on street furniture at night like the green telephone cabinets, metal bollards, railings on motorway bridges and so on, all of witch it fails to stick to.I have tried the suction in the wet first and it had zero stick, a few days later i tried in the dry and still zero stick. However I'm not going to give it a bad rating as i have tried to stick it onto things it was not made to stick onto, however it did stick to most things around the home.So in short, its great for light cameras but get ready to save it should it let go, and don't stick it to any finished surface you don't want ruined.

I have used this on my Discovery travelling cross country, and it works very well - after a year is still going strong. It has occasionally fallen off but usually because I have been wrenching the flexible arm around and have weakened the seal. I see there are other cheaper versions of this priciple, but to my eye the main problem with those is that they appear to be quite short - and the length of the "arm" is quite important as the angle of the windscreen, even on a comparatively upright vehicle like the Disco, means that there is very little room for the camera. You need a long arm so that the camera can be positioned so it doesn't hit the windscreen. Anyway - this one works. Full marks.

For the price, i think is a very good product. The suction is powerful enought for a Sony DSC-W350 and a GoPro HD Hero 2. I only tried in windows and the door of my car and worked very well. But only in very smooth surface. The cons of the product is that it shakes a lot, until now is only that. Sorry for the bad english.

I used this on a car drift shoot with a point and shoot size camera, and it worked like a charm, never once falling off. The footage was quite stable and mostly devoid of vibrations. It stuck onto the bonnet and side panels really well and did not fall even when the car was doing donuts. Highly recommended.

I used this for the 1st time yesterday to mount my camera to my Land Rover windscreen. It proved to be really sturdy and did not fall off all day even when driving off road. Very little vibration and produced steady videos and photos without camera shake. Would highly recommend.

I bought this for my motorcycle. Used it on a European trip. The suction is incredibly. Stuck it to the fairing never moved. Used a regular digital camera worked great. Check out you tube " vfr davos" to see the results

Very sturdy suction cup and flexible arm. Much stiffer than I thought compared to other review. This is ideal and keeps all my cameras in place without much vibration.
