I have a 16 month year old boy and he loves this. The ball is not smooth, it has rubber pointy bits all round which help the baby hold the ball. Its not very big aswell, about 16.5cm diameterThe picture shows blue colour, mine came in yellow. Yours may come in another colour. Do tae note of this when ordering.If you have more older kids then i think you should not allow them to play with the ball unless they are sensible. If older kids start kicking this about it could hurt the baby due to pointy bits, then again it would also hurt a baby without pointy bits if a older kid kicked it.If babies play on their own its a great ball.

I bought this ball for my baby son who has recently been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. It has, as I had hoped, encouaged his fine motor skills in rolling the ball on his play table, and he like the feel of the 'knobbles' on his hands and also on his tongue when he licks and chews it. His able-bodied twin sister loves rolling it across the floor to her brother and their older sister and they all love having the ball rolled across their backs for a little massage.

One of baby's favourites and one of ours. He loves to watch us pass, throw and bounce the ball, he loves to push it and watch it roll around on the floor, he loves to grasp it, hit it, chew it, headbutt it, and he LOVES it if we gently pass it to him. He's just starting to crawl and I'm sure he'll be chasing it around the floor in no time. Can keep him entertained longer than any of his other toys. Great texture and nicely squishy.

Got this months ago for our little one, aged about 5 months. Shes loved it, could handle it well compared to other balls due to the little spikes and they are soft enough for when she face planted on the ball or hit herself with it, that shes safe and fine . well worth getting.

Such a great toy! My son loves this product. Its lightweight and easy to grip! It does have a slight bounce but nothing that will cause too much damage if thrown. The raised bumps on the ball makes it easy for little hands to pick up. I would highly recommend.

My little girl loves anything tactile and this is no different. When she was younger she just liked to feel it and squeeze it, now she's a bit older she's rolling it and trying to copy mummy and make it bounce. So much more interesting than the average ball.

My daughter loves this....and whenever we take it to the park it get's 'borrowed' by other kids... easy to hold for little hands. Not too small but not too big for a picnic basket or under the buggy.I'd recommend.

My little one is obsessed with bouncy balls this one is really good also the spirits are really soft will not hurt anyone the only think is you don't get to pick the colour but other than that brilliant

Bought one for my son when he was only 8months old, he loved it and still does 10months later.Bought another for my friends son and it's very much the same.So in conclusion, babies love them.

19 month 0ld baby loves to catch and throw. It is easy for him to do this as it is light and textured surface makes it easy to pick up. Diameter is ideal for size of toddler.

15 month old absolutely loves this! Great size for wee hands and the textured surface mages it easy to pick up. Would be nice to be a nite too choose a colour though.

Our babies love playing with it. It's a good size. They love the bumpy texture. It's light, they can't hurt themselves. It helps improving the crawling skills.

Fab ball. Bought as a gift for a homeless child this Christmas, and everyone wanted to know where it came from. There will be a lot of these about next year :)

My 8 month year old loves it. Its nice and tactile and very bouncy! Overall a good purchase and something they can play with for years to come.

Item is exactly as advertised and came quickly. However, I don't think it's suitable for a 1 year old. I would choose a normal ball next time
