As a huge fan of the Canon EOS series, I have always hankered after a battery grip. This one fits the bill very well.To fit, one simply loads up the batteries into the grip (not supplied note) and then removes the main battery fromthe camera, removing the cover flip using the handy little clip on the inside and slots in the grip (there is a storage compartment built in for the battery door too). You can also use mains power using a DR-E6 DC Coupler if you are doing a long studio shoot.The point is that this makes portrait shooting much easier as the there is a vertical shutter release button, as well as an AE/FE Control Button,

First time using a grip, and I love it!It's light, so it doesn't add much to the overall weight of the camera, and it functions perfectly well so far! Has a handy space to store the battery-cover from the camera.One down side to it, and the reason it's not 5* is that there are 2 small bits of plastic in the middle that keep the batteries pushed down when you open the cover. Mine snapped off after a couple of uses, so now the batteries bounce out when I open it. It doesn't effect it while I'm using it though, so I'm not overly bothered.

This is my second attempt to acquire a non Canon battery grip for use with my 5D Mkii. The first from another supplier malfunctioned after a very short while. This version comes with Hahnel's reputation and lives up to the brand. It also comes with a remote which is useful.For me a battery grip is a must in the studio where one is working in portrait orientation.Nice piece of kit from a good supplier.

Had to buy this when everyone stopped selling the Canon version, very annoying, typical large company, bring out a new model (just after I bought the previous one), then dump all the accessories almost immediately. Does the job at a rasonalbe price too.

Work well on camera,no complaints.Previously bought third party one for £30+but caused a lot of faults on camera functions.So tried this make as told go pedigree.
