Seemed to be the perfect percolator being since I only have about 2 cups of coffee in the morning, and it's perfect size to pack for camping in the camper. First time using it was on my gas stove at home. After 10, 25, and 40 minutes of no sign of percolating (I could hear water boiling) I took it off the stove and assumed the 2 cup water level wasn't enough to push through the tube and percolate. So I started over and used the 3 cup water level. Same problem, no percolating. I then took the grates off my stove top and sat it directly on the flames. Some water pushed through the tube, but not enough to make coffee. It was colored water. I requested a return/refund and then started cleaning it to pack. While cleaning, I discovered the problem. The tube for the boiling water to push upward through to percolate had a serious defect. For most of the length of the tube there is a split at the seam where it was poorly constructed. This is the reason boiling water didn't push up the tube to percolate. I really like the size and construction of the pot and basket that holds the coffee grinds, but the tube is a pure fail. Maybe this is a "just by chance defect". I like the size and pot construction so much, I'm willing to order another as long as the tube construction can be verified before shipping. If the tube is of the same construction, it's worth trying again. I did measure the servings levels shown on the pot. They are spot on. I use the directions that come on my Community coffee package which says 2tbs per 6oz, which is a standard size coffee cup in my house. I measured 12oz of water and poured into the pot and it was exactly at the 2 cup level. Received my replacement and no sign of defect in the percolator tube. Made coffee in it. Directions state do not percolate longer than 3 minutes. No need for me. I tried different times and found 2 minutes of percolating gives me the flavor I'm looking. Adjust time to your taste. This is a basic camp, or camper and simple stovetop percolator. Good design for what it is. The few grounds in the bottom don't bother me.

Ok. Bear with me. My husband loves coffee, but not all coffee, he only likes coffee that I would spit out. Like if you think it will put hair on your chest, if a trucker would cringe at it or if you needed to plaster a wall - THAT'S the coffee he says "oooh that's good". So you can imagine how difficult it is to make a cup of coffee he likes. Not in the Keurig, not in a French press, not in a drip coffee maker (not even double brewed!), not in a home espresso machine - they're all "just ok".So imagine my surprise to see percolators were coming back in to fashion!! I remember seeing these as a kid, watching the coffee "blurp" up and back down was always just so interesting to me. As an adult,I know that what it does is basically keep brewing the coffee back over the grounds - so I had to get one!!He tried it the first time and was a little disappointed but I had wondered if he let it brew long enough. So I tried it and sat and watched it "blurp" for a good 5 minutes. Holy crap folks!! I felt like that old coffee commercial where the guy asked for a second cup of coffee and the lady was like.....he never asks for a second cup of MY coffee!!! He actually said.......Ohhhh, that tastes so good!!! WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!! You have NO IDEA!!! It's a bit more labor intensive than a regular cup of joe, but we can finally make coffee at home that he likes. I'm totally buying an electric one next!!

I bought this for camping. I'm the only coffee drinker and I usually just have one really large cup for breakfast. This fills that niche perfectly. I get about a 16 oz cup out of a brew. So when they call this a 3 cup pot that's basically your standard 5-6 oz coffee cup x 3, not three 8 oz cups.Use a coarse grind and dont over fill the basket. I let mine perk for a few minutes, I like my coffee walking talking strong and bold! Finished with some "Sugar in the Raw" it's one of the best cups of coffee ever!Super easy to clean, toss the grounds and rinse! The stainless is thick and sturdy and the silicone handle on the GSI brand is superior to the wooden slabs on other similar style pots.I try not to use soap on a regular basis, I let the coffee oils kind of season the pot for the best taste. I only use dish liquid about once a month. Just be cautious because those oils can go rancid then you need a thorough cleaning by boiling some vinegar to get that mess from all the nooks and crannies. Now I just need to find a really large kuksa to have a super cool coffee setup!

Stainless steel is The way to go ! Makes a big difference in the taste of your coffee., besides peculated coffee is how coffee should be brewed, I found this out after I purchased this pot , I bought this pot in the 3-4 cup size to use in my camper when the power is not hooked up, using the gas stove . Not only did it fit my needs it Spoiled Me for the great taste in real coffee that it made. I now use it at home also ,will be ordering another one to keep in the camper . Be sure an follow the proper procedure to percolate coffee . You'll be a happy camper !

Generally well made. Watch for the round seams and the clear cap usually does not fit well on some and the lid also. Minor problems as no coffee leaks past but the crystal clear cap can be annoying if it keeps coming off. The cap is advertised as BPA free. The handle is a bit small but this is the smallest capacity offered. It makes fine percolated coffee depending on how goods your and fresh your grounds are.The marking for the lower capacity can be hard to see and is not as sharply punctured as the top level markings.

I bought this because we had a larger version of one of these years ago in my family and I remember how good the coffee tasted. It works good and all that but the description is misleading. I can get somewhere around 15 to 16 ounces of water in there before it gets to the pour spout. So if a cup is 8 ounces then this is really a 2 cup percolater. It is sturdy and fairly easy to clean. The handle could be more robust but then again you are only lifting a max of 16 ounces of liquid so it does the job.

Shipped to me by the next day (quick shipping) even though it originally said by 4 days. I rinsed it out and put it to use and I am happy to smell The aroma of coffee through my house. Much better than what I’ve been having. This is a perfect size just for me and maybe one more person. I ordered a 3 cup percolator and am very happy. Reminds me of when I was a kid growing up to the sent of coffee in my house early in the mornings.

This little percolator makes coffee that tastes just as good as what I was getting using a Hario pour over with the bonus that it’s actually HOT when I drink it. I bought the GSI glass percolator top and swapped it before first use. The resin one that comes with the pot says it’s bpa free but I’d rather spend a couple bucks more to be sure. If you use a large mug you’ll probably only get 1-1 1/2 cups and not three. Recommended

I bought this for a variety of of reasons. 1. I wanted to make coffee outdoors. 2. My grandparents used to make coffee in a similar way with a - Pyrex coffee pot. You'll want to make sure you grind your beans coarse. The first time I used this, I used fine medium ground. And that co-mingles the grounds with the coffee. I redid with coarse, and the coffee turned out great.

Hard to find one of these that actually works. Downside to it is the plastic top. I had to take pliers to the lid and bend a little as the thing would not tighten. Used for camping. I am used to a drip coffee maker and can have a cup drank before this starts to perk. Long wait for the first cup in the morning.

Just want a good cup of coffee that is percolated to get the flavor of the coffee. I have a Keurig and it really is a rinse of coffee beans. Very watery. So this little percolator is just the thing for me. I can have 2 cups of coffee and not have to throw the rest out because the pot is too big.

What I love about this small coffee pot is that when Im home alone, I can brew up a great 2 large cups of coffee on my stove. I don't use a coffee system but use a French Press when I have company so this works great for me. The flavor is excellent and the ease and cleanup perfect.

My friend recommended this coffee pot..so I purchased it .We are both coffee drinkers and I am very fussy when it comes to making coffee, Love a good robust flavor. This pot is amazing in 3 minutes you have a GREAT cup of Coffee.I would definitely recommend this product/

This is the perfect coffee pot for a large 16-20 oz, single cup of coffee takes about 15-20 minutes from start to finish, including cleanup. I do add a small paper filter, to eliminate the grounds in the coffee and use Starbucks expresso bean ground extra fine

Love this coffee maker. Recently got an electric one (to save some time in the mornings) but on weekends this is one of my favourites. Good size and quality. I replaced the plastic top piece for a glass one. Very happy with this product.
