Comfortable, lightweight pack with all the features you'd expect, with great materials and build quality. It's a medium sized pack rated up to 15.9kg, and has plenty of space in it for a day hike. I've not used it yet for an overnight yet, but it has bottom straps and 4 attachment loops, so I'd imagine that it could be packed out for an ultralight overnight trip easily.Nevertheless, it has been comfortable with my normal day hike loadout, and makes a good compromise between weight & comfort. It has a great feature set, and as you'd expect from Gregory, the build and materials are all excellent. The Amber 34 seems to share it's DNA with my Stout 70, having most of the same features, only smaller.Weighing 1322g (vs specced 1230g), it's fairly lightweight, though not the lightest. The Amber has a 'Versafit Suspension' back system, which is identical to that found on the larger 'Stout' model. It's basically a perforated foam panel under a mesh, with an easy to use velcro back length adjustment. It all works well, though once set I don't need to change the back length, and the back system doesn't ventilate as well as a full back system. I've found that it performs well in normal to cold British conditions while walking, though I'd prefer a full back system for more exertive exercise. The back system is comfortable, gives great stability, provides enough separation from the contents that you won't get poked in the back by a badly packed bit of kit, and is much easier to pack then a full back system. The shoulder straps are 'S' shaped and comfortable. They are made from mesh fabric on the inside backed by perforated foam. The sternum strap has loads of adjustment, and there are top adjustment straps. There are loops for hydration lines, and a unique dedicated sunglasses strap in the left. The waist straps have the same mesh fabric backed by perforated foam and both have very large zipper pockets with easy to operate zipper pills. The waist straps do not have loops to tidy the somewhat excess strap length, so they tend to bash one in the legs in the wind. The waist itself is absolutely amazing though; somehow it manages to transfer almost all of the load onto ones hips, leaving the shoulder straps simply balancing the load. There is also a sub frame which keeps the back stiff and does a splendid job of stabilising the load so that it doesn't wobble when clambering over stiles or the like. The fixed lid has an inner and outer pocket. The inner contains a key strap and the removable raincover. This has a 'waist strap' which goes around the bag and is effective at stopping it from billowing out. The rain cover is the same colour as the bag. I can speak from personal experience of the effectiveness of the cover to keep the contents dry.The main bag has a compartment for your hydration bladder, then a large main compartment with fast opening and closing pulls and a top rope strap above this. There is a single 'n' zip at the bottom to give access to your sleeping bag, but there is no divider in the main compartment. This zip, as with all the others, has a easy pull loop.On the back of the bag is a large stretch pocket, secured with a clip in the centre. A thoughtful design feature is the centre panel of the pocket is nylon, giving the bag better protection than if the entire procket were stretch fabric, especially as bags are usually on their base or back. The pocket is just about large enough for a mountain jacket, & folded foam seat pad. There are two mesh pockets on the sides for bottles; each one would just about fit a 2L bottle of coke (for example - not a suggestion...!). Access while on the move is not easy though. There are attachments for walking poles and two compression straps on each side. There also two compression loops to carry bulky loads on the base, such as a roll mat. There are 2 loops on each side of the back panel which could be used for other external loads.A final thumbs up from me is that the lining is made from 50% recycled polyester.

Really good quality women’s backpack. This backpack is lightweight and you can store loads of stuff in it. Perfect for hiking and camping. It sits comfy on your back and belt straps are easily adjustable. The alloy frame and foam padding makes carrying heavy loads have less strain on your back. The backpack is full of different pockets and the with the rain cover it keeps everything safe and dry.Overall this is a great quality backpack. Highly recommended.

I have used this for a ten mile hike in the welsh mountains today and I found it to be very comfortable. at 34 litres I managed to get a decent amount of kit in. the mesh front of the bag is perfect for storing my waterproofs and keeps internal storage free. The adjustment available is good, I have nothing but praise for this bag.
