Don’t believe the haters everybody. I swear to god 90% of the people hating on the net haven’t even played the game enough to understand what they are complaining about. Game is an utter joy to play with the controller. Best GT game I’ve ever played, tbh. Everything feels very polished, just perfect. Far from the PS2 tracks and models of the last GT games everyone kept complaining about. The people complaining about the lack of content probably are the same people who have been complaining about the old and ugly PS2 cars and tracks in GT5&6. This is a new start. From the slick menus over the amazingly well put together soundtrack, which feels very GT but still more fresh and modern,to the spectacular graphics, even on base PS4, I think I didnt have this much fun in a racing game since over a decade. The lighting in the game is just something to be seen, the level of detail on the cars has just to be admired. Photorealism is around the corner everywhere. They say it takes up to 6 months to make one car in the game and I believe it. The attention to detail is simply stunning and matched by no other racing game. While the car and track list definitely is on the lower side, it doesn’t really bother me at all. Who really drove all those 30 Supras in the older games?! Every car in the game has its own character and drives differently. The new GT fantasy tracks are simply gorgeous and very fun to drive. The rallye tracks still feel like an afterthought though. The 6 real life tracks are modelled with astonishing attention to detail, with real animated 3D crowds, photographers, pit crews, helicopters, planes, birds, even an Air Force Show at the oval track and lots of detail in general. For those who like to drive in chase cam, the cam is now highly customisable so if one wants a more dynamic cam movement like in the Forza titles it can be changed in the settings. The new Single Player campaign mode feels substantial on its own, with additional highly customisable SP races, so everyone can now create his own career. If you want to drive the Daihatsu Copen against a field of GT1 cars at a 200 lap night race at the Nordschleife with mechanical damage, fuel and tire wear, you can do that. (I realise that doesn’t make any sense but it sounds like fun, doesn’t it?!) The new Custom Race mode is that flexible. The new progression system constantly rewards you for racing in the game, be it upgrades, cars or money. The new excitement and variety the Sport mode adds to the game looks like it will carry the series to whole new levels. I frankly think it’s the best and most fun implementation of online in a racing game I’ve ever seen. I’m actually also quite impressed with the new A.I. Cars behave very naturally and dare I say human, try to stay competitive and put on a fight at higher difficulty races. The sounds of the cars, the old step child of the series, is drastically improved. It generally sounds very convincing, differentiating between the different views, pops and crackles, great use of environmental reverb in the fascinatingly good and close to real life looking reviews. Developer Kazunori Yamauchi’s interest in artistic camera work shines here as does it in the new photo and Scapes mode, where one can put the beautifully rendered cars in stunning real photo environments, all with the correct light situation resulting in breathtaking shots, if the player is willing to dedicate some time.Same goes for the new livery editor. Gamers will lose days and weeks over those modes, I sure did already. And there are millions of awesome creations of other players free to download due to the new sharing mechanics.More content in form of cars, tracks, even weather and more single player content has already been promised by the creator and will arrive via regular updates over the next 2-3 years. If you’re only remotely interested in cars, do yourself a favour and buy this game. It’s more than a game in my opinion. It’s a work of art.Just try to manage your expectations and don’t expect the old GT because this is the new gen.If you have a bad internet connection or for whatever reason never want to race against other people then please...stay away. This is not for you. Maybe. But let me tell you, I also never played an online game before because I’m not interested in MMOs and shooters, but the way this game makes playing against other people fun has converted me. Don’t just write it off because you’ve never tried it.Game gets 4 stars because of the comparatively low content with an option for 5 once more cars and tracks arrive.

This is a great racing game in its own right which tries something different in that it's geared to making people race with eachother, currently this is the best example of online racing anywhere where a person who hasn't raced online can jump in without being penalised too much with cars ghosting which allows the race to continue, an example would be to compare online with Project Cars 2 where people would crash or pile up within the first 30 seconds and the game would be over for half of the players, Gran Turismo Sport gets this right. Single player is geared towards making you drive better and to compete online and if you're basing this game on a nostalgic trip from 10 years ago Gran Turismo games you will be disappointed, the old is gone move with the times as the best races are against other players. The graphics, the racing, the livery editor and social functions are a tier above other racers and the only downside is the always online connection in the hope that nothing actually goes wrong with the games servers, understand this the game works, it's only the thought that it might not work which has many people upset and you can't base life on a just in case scenario, the games launched which means it already has the most players at any single moment so if there's a problem it would've happen. You don't need PS+ to play this game those are lies made by people who haven't purchased the game but you do need PS+ for racing online just like any other PS4.The reason why I've given GT Sport a 4 star instead of 5 is simply because I don't know if or when they'll be more tracks to race on, the tracks in the game are enough for a for 3 or 4 months and there has been word they'll be more but I have to base things on actual facts and not hearsay therefore 4 stars. It's more entertaining than Project Cars 2, DriveClub or Assetto Corsa and doesn't have any paid season pass or microtransactions like those games or Forza 7 and for that reason 4 stars has turned back into a 5. Games like GT Sport are a rare and dying breed as it will provide more cars and extra tracks for the original asking price, there is no sneaky fees and for that I commend the makers of this game. Don't worry about the naysayers if you can read this review than you have internet and can play GT Sport, highly recommended because this game is a juggernaut and like most PS4 only games it will receive hate from fans of the competition, ignore them and enjoy some great racing moments this has the wow factor.

Firstly, The Amazon-Exclusive Steelbook is exquisite. The gold monotone brushed metallic finish is a superb product. This Special Edition comes with extra cars, liveries, avatars etc. After 4 years in development, there's no getting away from the fact that the launch of this game left a lot of the video game racing community disappointed. There's no dispute that the game looks fantastic - unbelievably realistic. It is miles ahead of the competition. The cars are modelled with meticulous detail, taking months to create. The circuits are laser scanned and lush with trackside scenery and activities. The handling, although not a 100% sim, is intuitive and responsive. It has decent feedback,is more forgiving than a sim and at times more enjoyable. It's Gran Turismo handling.But.... In comparison with the previous Gran Turismo games, Gran Turismo Sport was an iteration where a completely new approach has been preferred. Gone was the traditional offline Campaign/Career mode that included Championships, Endurance races etc, in favour of an almost entirely online racing approach. There is a small offline 'Campaign mode' however, than encompasses four sub-modes to select from: Driving School, Mission Challenge, Circuit Experience and Racing Etiquette. Within each of these sub-modes, players are presented with a huge amount of objectives to complete, and rewarded with cars, as usual. It can become tiresome after a while. The online Daily races and private lobbies are pretty slick. Smooth and fuss-free player matching and entry, all in accordance with you driver and safety ratings. There is an Arcade mode for custom one-off races, an impressive livery editor where you can either use in-game decals or upload your own, and there's the obligatory Gran Turismo 'Photomode' called Scapes... and that's about it.Until now...Just before Christmas '17, saw a huge update. Introduced were a number of new cars, new circuits or variations of existing ones.... and finally a one-player campaign mode, similar to the traditional FR, MR, Clubman Cup we all knew and loved. The game is so different now to what is on the disc, which is disappointing. But it's now becoming the game we all wanted at launch, with the promise of more to come.I'm getting more game time with this than the bug-ridden Project Cars 2, which I didn't think would be the case a few months ago.Still not perfect, but an essential title to join the rest of the racing titles out there already.

Ok to start with , this is very different than the past games. It's mainly on line and verging on e sports .I'm not sure if this is just for this version or wether Gran tourismo has changed to be an e sport racer for good.Only the arcade racing section doesn't require online connection , the rest of the game you must be online. That being said , the graphics are really good , But I haven't tried VR yet , and VR is only a one on one challenge races. The challenges are ok and help you get points and bonus tracks , cars .The real aim of this version , is the online racing. e sports style. And FIA approved on line championships to be raced.I like it so far and for me is in between forza 7 and p cars 2 .P cars being the best , followed by Gt sport , with Forza 7 coming third. All these racers are great and I enjoy them all. Forza is very much the arcade , Gt sport the inbetween to p cars 2 .There are classifications to driving online and the cleaner driver and faster you become the better match you will get online. This is good to stop the head bangers that run havoc in races.Much like p cars 2 has done . There is some great fun to be had even racing the AI , but the online racing is where this racer works best.If you were expecting the usual Gran tourismo then this might not be for you. It's aimed at e sport racing and Works really well as such. It's different in a good way in my opinion .There are so many YouTube reviews to watch before you buy.Best watch those and you will see that Gran tourismo has moved on ,( in this version any way )It isn't perfect but what racer is.?The enjoyment and immersion for me is addictive.

Really pleased with the game as I knew what I was expecting. This is all about racing online and that is executed really well. It’s balanced for players who take racing seriously and doesn’t reward people who want to play bumper cars. The graphics, handling with controller and presentation are the best I’ve seen on PS4 racers yet, and the daily workouts and races keep it fresh and the scapes mode is weirdly addictive.I see a lot of reviews highly positive and highly negative not many in the middle, this is down to expectations, this is not ur run of the mill GT game where u collect hundreds of cars most of them would be useless and not fun in a competitive track environment anyway. You can create custom races offline so can’t say single player events like clubman and Sunday cup would ever be missed either. Tuning gets a hard time but theres no more lazy sticking a turbo in or changing to carbon flywheel to go faster, if you want to shave lap times you need to understand details of how to tune ur suspension and car setups.I do myself wonder why the delay was so long vs the amount of content (although rumours of many updates to come) which I was initially concerned with but I keep going back to it and it’s really enjoyable if you accept it for what it is.... the closest GT to a sim racer yet while keeping it slightly arcade so it’s accessible for all.

Fantastic graphics, improved sound, 60fps, excellent car handling, slick menu's, decent load time's, GT Sport is the most polished GT has been in a long time and it has a very impressive Photo Mode too. This is very different to past games though, with a bigger focus on online racing and less focus on single player, car collecting. The single player Campaign Mode has a mix of Licence Tests, Racing and Challenges, with the idea to make a player better at driving for the online mode. All the championships are online now though and is set up as a e-sport, which actually works very well.It does have less cars and tracks at the moment but more will be added into the game over time.If you can get past the changes,it's an excellent game, if you can't then you might be better waiting until they add in more cars and track.UPDATE - A patch was released to allow more modes to be played offline and another Free update will be coming later this month to add GT League, which is the Single Player Championships from the old GT games (Sunday Cup ect) and 12 new cars too.

Ok so Polyphony Digital rushed the release of this game so that what we got on release day fell short of many peoples expectations. I can happily announce that two months of updates later and we finally have the game we were all hoping for... complete with campaign mode!! :))This game is clearly made by people obsessed with motor sport, so much detail and thought has been put into every aspect of this game. The cars are truly awe-inspiring and look great on the photography landscapes. At first I thought the graphics looked a bit cartoony during the races, but they are still better than anything we've had before. We are at a point in gaming technology where gamers are expecting true realism with consoles that are struggling to keep up,but it's clear that Polyphony Digital pushed this console to it's limit's.No complaints from me and still sits majestically amongst its peers as ''the real driving simulator'

I've played various driving games over the years, from the original GT, through Forza, PGR, Project Cars, etc, but this one just seems to get the balance right. The main focus is on on-line play, which I've had mixed experiences of in the past with either being in with a bunch of jerks, or against real experts (to whom I'm probably one of the jerks). The matchmaking handles this pretty well, partly I think due to the Sportsmanship ranking which pits you against similar drivers - once improve up your rating a little by driving cleanly, you get away from the first corner melee and things become much more enjoyable. Having the online system manage the daily races works well to,avoiding having to find a suitable lobby as in other games (although that option is still there).

Brilliant now since it has been updated but I bought it on launch for the vr and that still is like a tracked on item if there was more than one car to race in vr it would be great but the vr side I never use now I still prefer driveclub in vr to this, plus it was so empty I didn't play it but now it is great with loads of tracks/cars and a proper single player with loads of events.Sport is cheap online as everytime you need to wait at least 10 mins to start a race so I don't go online anymore with it by single player is excellent it just needs split screen 2 player and it would be amazing. We have to have 2 copies to play each other in different rooms which is a ball ache why they want us allto play alone I'll never u understand.

Nevermind the racing for a second, if you love photography your'e going to love this game, the photo mode is the best I've seen in any game because somehow it uses light source information from the actual real word locations that are in the game. The racing is of the high standard you would expect. You get several car packs included of course. Two minus points are the lack of a proper career mode. Some obviously hate that this is now missing but even as a long time player of the series I personally don't mind that it isn't included. It also comes only with a steelcase which can be a pain to open and I'm not really a fan of them but it's okay. 8.5 out of 10

Fantastic game! Loving it. Graphics in HDR 4K is so beautiful and stunning on My Playstation 4 Pro & 4K TV.Do not believe those people who say it’s crap which only because of the GT License mode removed. But they have campagin of races you do and lot of races vs the AI also online. They also said they’re adding more tracks, cars etc to free and paid DLC. So those people are clueless whos trying make this game negative.Get it and you won’t regret it I promise :)

Its Gran Turismo, what more is there to say. It is the quintessential racing game, the king of car games. Now it did need a few updates to make it to what was intended but it is now near perfect. Graphics are unrivalled, career mode is in-depth, online is well regulated and fair but fun and the selection of cars is great. As a long term PlayStation user Gran Turismo always has a place in the collection, its a given. 5 stars!

31.7.2019

Despite being a Gran Turismo fan since the PS1 days I stayed away from this version because of the uniformly awful early reviews. When the super mega deluxe version dropped to 30 quid on Black Friday I couldn't resist and bought it anyway expecting something mediocre. It's anything but mediocre, it's amazing. Granted it's not the same as the old days but in terms of polish and graphics it's the best driving game on the PS4.

Awesomeness in a steel book!! Been waiting for so long for this game to be released and I'm not disappointed. The negative reviews of the game are from people who don't have ps+ which I understand..But this is the way games are going nowadays. If the PS1 had online capabilities all them years ago this may well have been what gt1 was like. Just how it is. Great game..Awesome Graphics..and even better with a Wheel! 5*
