Pros:- Clean latest Android experience which I personally love.- Brilliant camera- I've always bought budget phones and this is the first one with a truly remarkable camera that I am happy with. Camera is a simple to use and features such as portrait mode and night sight are excellent. (See attached photos for eg (may have been compressed by amazon))- Phone feels decently fast and is good for all applications I've tried, including the odd game like PUBG.- 6.0" OLED screen is beautiful and gets easily bright enough for my needs. Best I've used at this price point.-Headphone jack. Speakers are OK-USB-C I good to see after years using micro-B.Phone charges quickly and I can easily get 7-8h sceen-on time with a full charge.- Features such as the always-on display and 'Now playing' are nice to have and far more useful than I expected.Cons:- Performance obviously won't be on par to a flagship and no high refresh rate.- Have experienced a few minor glitches. Occasionally phone takes longer than normal to power on, and once it froze with the always-on display partially dimmed. Was fixed by holding the power button for 10s to reboot phone.- Active Edge is cool but would be far nicer if it could be easily remapped to other functions such as torch or camera launch.- Phone is rather large with noticeable top and bottom bezzels. However I prefer this too a notch and overall it feels good in my hand.- No inscreen fingerprint reader or face ID, but back fingerprint reader is adequate.- No expandable storageOverall a great phone. Has the occasional buggy behaviour like most phones at this price and probably wouldn't suite someone used to a higher refresh rate. Although it may be beat by Chinese flagship killers or the feature rich Samsung A series, with such a great camera and fantastic software experience, I can't recommend it enough.(I bought refurbished from a different seller, not Amazon)Update: 6 months later and its still a pleasure to use. Have been receiving monthly software updates. Camera app now supports Googles astrophotography mode which is pretty cool and just adds to how impressive this phones camera is. See my included pic which was taken in near total darkness

Finally jumped in with buying a new phone and I went with the Pixel 3a XL as it ticked pretty much all my boxes. Yes I could have bought one of the Chinese brand phones (and they can be exceptional value for money), but I wanted to have a great camera with my phone and the Pixel 3a XL was discounted at the right time.I like it. The Android 10 update has taken a little time to get used to but everything is running smoothly now. Screen is great. Bluetooth is rock solid, though there is a headphone jack. Battery life throughout the day could be better. Camera, though is superb. I have taken way more with this phone than before and the night shot capability is unparalleled (can't compare it with iPhone as don't have one).I think this is a good investment.Bought a Spigen case, which fits and works perfectly, along with a 3rd party screen protector, so as safe as can be.Negatives?64GB of memory (with no slot for memory card) at this price point is a bit cheap these days, especially as Google seem to have stopped the free full size photo backup / hosting to Google 1.Battery life seems to be not as good as I had hoped, but the phone does seem to be learning about my habits and I think battery life is improving. Also, Pokemon Go app really hammers battery life, but that's the same with any phone now.

Girllfriend loves it and great camera! It shoots really nice pictures right out of the box so you don't need to faff with any settings. Battery lasts a long time and the included charger charges super fast. One werid thing though is the GoogleHome sometimes doesn't recognise the phone which is weird seeing as they're both by Google but it's only happened a few times so far and just needed to close and restart the app such as Spotify or TuneIn to fix it. And 3.5mm jack of course is such a simple thing but a necessity nonetheless. Overall, it's a great phone and I'd recommend it to those who wants a Pixl but don't have the wallet for the flagship because 3a is brilliant and you will hardly evernotice the compromises between the models.

Not since the days of the iPhone 6 or the early Nexus phones have I come across something so fit for purpose. Obviously iPhones are now ridiculously expensive, so are out of reach for most. Motos are good, Nokias look great but fail too quickly, Samsungs are over priced and now this little number has arrived, we have a winner in my book. It is light, just the right size and sturdy. The screen is brilliant, the touch screen smooth and the simple things just work (e.g. volume control increments, speakerphone, alarms). It is delightful to use. Such a high quality camera in such a small form factor. Can't recommend it enough.

Half the price of an iPhone and 100 times better! I've been with Apple for years, but spending money on a product that isn't giving me anything in return, I decided to make the big change! The battery life is so much longer, the screen is easier to use, with all the apps you could possibly ask for. The camera is my most favourite option, it's quality is absolutely stunning!I can honestly say that as a family, we were so impressed we all left Apple and got the Google Pixel... No looking back

I've had an Iphone 5 and a 6s Plus. I have been jeaulous of Samsung's cameras for a while and Huawei lately. The Google 3 Pixel was looking amazing but I told myself that I wouldn't spend the same money I did back in a days with Iphones so I was waiting for my phone to literally die to do the switch to a better camera phone. Google released the 3a in an incredible price and I knew I just had to do it! I couldn't be happier with it,. Android its great and the camera of this phone is UNBELIEVABLE

Really well designed phone. Lovely bright screen, fast, smooth software experience using stock Android 9, lightweight plastic body without feeling cheap. It may not have the latest processor, wireless charging or waterproof ratings but this is half the price of the flagship devices that have those features. The camera is superb for a phone in this price range. This is probably all the phone that most people will ever need, it does everything you want a phone to do and does it very well.

This was purchased for my sister who needed a phone with better battery life than her iPhone 8. I told her that this was the phone for her despite the mid range price. She can now watch videos for 12 hours without needing to reach for a charger. It sounds too good to be true given the price and the fact that the battery inside it is no different to others. Of course, there is something to be said for a phone that doesn't have premium build quality, but this is the ideal battery beast.

After 3 years with my trusty Samsung S8 I decided it was time for an upgrade. I mainly got this phone for the camera and so far I've been so so impressed. I was originally going to go for the Pixel 4 as it was reduced to a very good price at another store. But then I read reviews of this phone saying there wasn't all that much difference with the camera, the Pixel 4 was just the newer model. I love the voice function feature, a really good quality phone and the photos are incredible!

A great phone with a fabulous camera.Photo quality is excellent and shots taken in Portrait mode give professional results.Night Shot mode produces well lit images in even quite dark scenes.Battery life is good and with average use will last well into the next day.As for the rest it is pure Android at it’s best with none of the bloatware of some other brands. Fingerprint sensor very quick to respond.A product which is easy to recommend without reservation.

I've been a Windows Mobile fan for years and stuck with my 950xl for as long as I could .I set myself a £500 budget, did weeks of studying watched reviews etc. until it became obvious that the Google Pixel 3a XL was a no brainer. 2 weeks down the road and no looking back, everything, and I mean everything was and is so easy, great screen, great camera, finger print sensor- just use it all the time and to add in a battery that just lasts forever, whats not to like.

Was ready to collect immediately, camera is amazing. Stock android is buttery smooth. The storage could be better, but I guess Google had to keep the cost down somewhere. Don't be put off with the single rear facing lense as the software do special magic to create what I can only describe as SLR quality. I already have a dedicated camera (Sony RX 100) but it even puts this to shame. Nice Oled screen not too bright for direct sunlight, but still a great screen.

I bought this to replace an expensive flagship that was damaged and I can't really tell a difference and this phone is nearly two thirds cheaper. You get one of the best cameras in any phone and definitely at this price point. The software experience is great running stock Android 10 with no bloatware and weekly updates keep the phone secure. When you factor in that you get an OLED panel, great camera, stock Android and NFC with Google Pay it's a bargain.

I got this phone after being a life long iPhone user and I am very impressed. Despite it's cost, it does everything I want from a phone extremely well. Battery life is ten times better than my old iPhones & the camera is fantastic. Why spend twice or even three times as much when this phone does it and does it well? If you are looking for a very good budget phone that has many of the features of a more expensive phone - this is it. And that headphone jack!

The pixel 3a XL has most of the features of a premium phone but at an affordable price. I upgraded from the original pixel so am familiar with the pixel "pure" version of android. The features you don't get from the main 3XL weren't important to me but the increased battery size was. Simply put - the battery life is amazing, I get a full day of use out of it and can go in to the next day with no problem. Best mid range phone available in my opinion.
