I bought this for my 13 month old and she does like taking the animals out using the chunky handles, making animal noises and giving them a good chew. However, I was hoping that there would also be matching animal pictures in the holes to give her an idea of where to put the shapes back. She is just starting to get in to shape sorting and I wanted a toy to help her develop this using her favourite animals. You can't tell from the advertised picture, but there are no pictures underneath. This means that this puzzle is way too difficult for her and probably best for an older toddler. A shame, as otherwise this is a good, sturdy toy.
