This is a fantastic Malt, as you would expect from Glenfarclas. Superb value for money for a cask strength single malt from a brewer of distinction. This is not by any standard an everyday malt, it should be sipped and savoured. Gently allowing it to flow over your tounge and around your mouth giving your taste buds the chance to savour the wonderful flavours. As a 'Speyside' malt there are no smokey peaty taste to this whiskey. The flavours are strong and robust leaving your mouth in no doubt that you have tasted a quality whiskey. You would get this bottle out ocassionly, it's not an everyday malt. It has a darker colour than most malts, towards brandy and rum (perhaps because its cask strength).I enjoy every second from that subdued, but quality 'pop' of the cork stopper to rolling it around the glass and just smelling it to the total explosion when it hits my tounge. This is not a starters malt but if you like decent quality Speyside malts and would like to try a cask strength whiskey without its price tag this is the whiskey for you.I have tried the 'big brother' to this the Glenfarclas 175 which costs about £100 a bottle and both myself and my partner much prefer this one.'Superb cask strength whiskey at an unbelievably good price' - well worth a try.

Here is a legendary dram and for good reason. All of the typical characteristics of a Glenfarclas are present. However, as a young whisky at cask strength these are delivered in a very assertive and straightforward style! No part of the strength is a drawback though, just an aspect of this particular whisky's exhuberance. Enjoyed neat it has an exceptionally strong flavour which is close to being overwhelming but still provides an exhilarating experience. The addition of water in equal proportion to the measure of whisky in your glass opens out the flavours more and mitigates the strength a little! It is an exceptional whisky enjoyed with or without water and I would suggest that you try both methods to fully appreciate this whiskys flavours and impressive strength.

I bought this to try as I had never sampled it before. It ticks a lot of boxes...- A full litre- cask strength- with a little water it’s okayIt has the strength... but suffers from a lack of maturation. Whilst I’ve seen rumours on the internet it’s aged to 8 or so years, I find this really hard to believe (I’m guessing around 5 years is in the mix). The flavour is much harsher than the Glenfarclas 10 (much much harsher - no matter how much water you try to balance it out with). For me, this means I probably won’t buy again in a hurry. All in all... the Glenfarclas 15 is usually about the same price. If your budget is about the £55 mark for your next bottle get the 15! (Just an opinion)

If you like a mild scotch PERFECT! Even with the Cask Strength 60% it has only a mild Scotch bite and no burn, no harsh smoky taste(just a wisp) and not a very heavy peat(peaty) taste. It lands lightly on the tongue and sweetly on the nose, with a light, beautiful, lingering, smoky aftertaste. I was NEVER a big Scotch fan until I found this one. It is a bit pricey but punches way above it's weight group for flavor and smoothness. As a lifelong Kentucky Whiskey lover this was a surprising gift... then I bought three more. Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with this distillery.

This is the very definition of a sherry-monster, and not for the faint-hearted. I opened one of the bottles I bought while on a stag-weekend, and shared it with a group of seasoned whisky-drinkers, none of whom had encountered it before. The general consensus was that it packs a punch: the cask-strength a.b.v. makes itself felt in a way that it doesn't in other malts of equal potency. It has a few rough edges, but in my opinion they just add to its charm - taken with a little water, it's a perfect winter-warmer.

Love it, but have a question. If it really is "Cask Strength", how can they manage to make it exactly 60% year after year. And become exactly 60% after being kept on different barrels up to 8-10 years? Other brands and ranges that come out in "Cask Strength" often vary from year to year, and can be 58.3%, 61%, 60.5% etc. Is this a vatted malt, a single cask, a mix of different barrels from different years? And how can it be exactly 60% every time? :)

A truly excellent dram, one for the connoisseur and a very pleasant experience for the uninitiated. Taken neat it will not disappoint, adding a few drops of water will really make this expression burst upon the palate.I would highly recommend trying this Glenfarclas malt.

Not only is this excellent on its own (with a splash of spring water) but just a dash added to more modest (40%) malts can ofter give them a greater spark of life. Some might shudder at making your own 'blend' but why not if you enjoy experimenting as well as the outcome.

Arrived promptly (from Germany!), complete with certificate of taxes paid, to our wee house in Scotland. Best value I could find for a special whisky that I am keeping for a special occasion. I'm sure it will taste fantastic, but that's a pleasure for another day!

Great item. However it was delivered to the wrong address. Luckily I was able to get the parcel but as it was left in the foyer of a neighbouring apartment block it was on. Jew for anyone to help themselves

Lovely flavoured whisky if the correct amount of water is added being a speyside it is neither smokey nor peaty but a well rounded flavour that's not to sweet or honeyed, would buy again

Excellent dram.Very consistent unlike some cask strenghts with depth and huge sherry cask notes. One of my all time favourites and still great value for money too !!

Full of flavour. Extremely strong, and can certainly take a drop of water without ruining the taste. A Scotch to sip and enjoy.
