I thought I'd save some about $100 buying these instead of the Empires for commuting. Giro claims the only difference is the sole, where the Empires have carbon fiber, these have plastic.Consistent with that, the only real difference I have noticed is that the soles do not feel as stiff as the Empires. It's something you might notice when you're out of the saddle to push over a hill, but commuting is not a race. Same wonderful comfortable shape of the sole and uppers as the Empires. I could wear these all day as my every day shoes.Nice touches: the cleats are recessed enough so that you do not clickety-clack when walking.

I bought these shoes to serve as an emergency back-up pair of shoes. They look sharp and fit comfortably. They seem to be true to size as well. I bought mine a little big but they don't slip at heel, so that's a plus. My only complaint/recommendation would be to include a lace keeper so that your laces aren't flying around while you ride (I tuck them into the shoe, but they don't stay there for more than 30 mins).

Great shoe, fits true to size, nice shoe that is reasonably stiff but still good for getting off the bike to walk/hike.Only reason for 4 stars is the shoelace ripped when I was pulling them tight to tie them after only about a month of getting them!

I've been riding Giro for years ... fits very well, fixes well, and lacing up a lace-up didn't last 20,000km on a racing bike ... Great value for money! Boa costs too much for me at mtb to mess him up with gatsch ... long-term test I'm excited ...

I would echo Luke's comments that they are comfy and elegant and was impressed by how adjustable the laces are. And sizing seems to be accurate. But these are my third pair of Giro shoes, so I am obviously sold on them!

The shoe is very comfortable but it is a very narrow model. I normally have size 40 in shoes. I had to change these to size 41, they are almost too small anyway. 4 stars due to size confusion.

Really comfortable maybe half a size too much, usually I wear 46-46 and 1/2, I took 47. The size you take for normal shoes should be taken. They are very beautiful alive even more !!
