I bought both Giro Ledge and Smith Holt, and I chose the Ledge over Holt for the following reasons:**My head measured at 60 cm but I’m a slim guy, and the Medium size from both models fit me very well, the Large size is significantly too large for me. **1. Size: Ledge is overall slimmer than Holt, especially on the sides: the Holt is rounded on the sides while Ledge is almost a straight cut. Ledge is also smaller in height, and feels a bit lighter on head.2. Quality: though cheaper than the Holt, the Ledge actually has better quality in details. When I pulled the ear pieces down in order to put on the helmet, one of the ear pieces on Holt became loose and can be easily pulled out just after a few try.

I measure 61 CM and this helmet fit very snug out of the box. I had to adjust it all the way back to its last setting, but still had some tension on the forehead. Thankfully, there is a sweatband sewn into the lining that came off easily with a seam puller, leaving no evidence that it had ever been there before. After removing the sweatband, the helmet fit perfectly. My goggles are a little big to begin with, so they don't fit great with the helmet, but not bad enough to make it unwearable. I took it on a run this past week and it kept me warm and safe the whole day. I'm very happy with the cost and performance of this helmet, despite having to modify it out-of-the-box.

I bought this helmet to protect myself while learning to snowboard. I got a small and it fit perfectly! I was a little worried about whether it would keep my head warm on the slopes so I wore a beanie underneath it, but honestly the insulation in the helmet itself would have been warm enough. On my last run of the day, I fell on my face and hit my head. Luckily I had this helmet on so everything turned out fine and I felt very protected the whole time I was slipping and falling. It feels very durable and is easy to adjust, and it's also a great deal! I definitely would reccomend this helmet!

Great fit and all day comfort over the goggle strap, with balaclava (after the ear pads are removed). A little snug when adding a beanie, but it does fit. I ordered a medium, which is what I wear in Giro bike helmet. The built-in self-adjusting tension strap is adjustable to three different positions, which snap into place under the helmet liner. I had to loosen it to the largest setting for it to work over the goggle and face mask. Looks sleek, stylish and is low profile. Good ventilation. Photos are with the Smith Squad XL. Pretty seemless fit.

Went with the medium over the large, and it fits pretty snug, but I'm not sure if the large would be too large.. Overall, it's a nice looking helmet and it does its job while keeping your head warm. I bought a pair of snowboard goggles by Outdoor Gear on Amazon and they look great with this helmet. Fair price and right up there in quality with the Smith brand Holt style helmet, which my friend has who I board with regularly. I think this one looks a little cooler!

I've never owned another ski helmet, so there's that. But this one fit well, was comfy and warm, goggles stayed in position without fogging, and best of all - it paid for itself on my 2nd run where I went over backwards on my board and slammed my head on the slope. As I was falling backwards, I actually thought to myself "no biggie, I'm wearing a helmet." And sure enough, it protected my head and didn't hurt a bit.

Great all around fit. doesnt make me look like an alien with a big head on the slopes. Build seems sturdy haven't tried to bang my head against anything yet. it's a plus to make me look cool on the slopes. Easier to attract the ladies. and yeah. Its a helmet... Serves it purpose.PS. great pair with the Fall Line prizm.

Keeps your head warm for winter. Definitely has a noticeable weight, not too bad though. It's kind of tight when you have to put in the included ear muffler or something like that. Florida can get cold too, and I use this for biking, which might look weird. It definitely feels like a tough reliable helmet.

This helmet is comfortable and does exactly what I want it to. I use it for snow biking up here in the Upper Peninsula. I used to just wear a beanie under my bike helmet, but that was not really comfortable.This helmet is warm enough to not need a beanie, and it works with goggles.

Good helmet so far, the material is thick and really good quality, the only thing bad about this helmet is you can scratch it easy, if you like ur helmet looking clean and always shiny then you can still buy this helmet just put them in bag after use or else gets scrtach easy.

Held up well for a first time snowboarding trip ever! Was glad I had the helmet on as I did hit my head when falling once. Fit a bit snug, as it’s supposed to. Definitely great for a beginner. Especially if you’re not sure you’ll love snowboarding or if you don’t do it often!

Never used a helmet before but decided as I was getting older it was a good investment. This one is fantastic! Fits very well out of the box (even with a balaclava underneath.Not only that, it's warm!!!! I took it night skiing and my head was toasty! Highly recommended.

Great quality helmet for a fair price. Used it all snow season without any problems, it keeps warm from the wind and fits perfectly on my head. Plus I got many compliments on the color. Would recommend it to anyone who ski's or snowboards. Never hurts to be safe!

A fine helmet. Tough, comfortable. I am able to wear my hearing aids without feedback. I don't like the goggle loop; it's too easy for them to fall off.This replaced an old Boeri bowl. If I get ten years out of it, I'll be happy!

Good helmet. Light and snugg. Does what it's supposed to. Little Velcro pieces that hold the liner in fell off and some were misaligned. Luckily I don't use liner so I just took them out. Fits good with my Oakley flight deck xm.
