PROS:+ Only takes 3 hours to charge, as opposed to Sony's 6 hours+ A great low-cost alternative to the Sony PS3 headset+ Clear sound receiving and sending+ Comfortable fit, adjustable ear hook and microphone placementCONS:- It's only fitted for the right ear- You have to use the charge cable with this product, PS3 cords won't work- Mute does not show on the PlayStation 3 screen------------------------------------------------Gioteck seems to have done their homework and improved on their previous EX-01 and EX-02 headsets. When I game online, I want to make sure that other players can hear me, I can hear them, and I can mute without too much hassle. The EX-03 meets each of my requirements.FIRST IMPRESSIONS:I was irritated by the small font in the instruction book, but that's a minor gripe.Pairing was a little cumbersome, I had to scan my headset to register it as a Bluetooth device, whereas my Sony PS3 headset was recognized by connecting it with a USB cable.PROS:I was happy to see it only took 3 hours to get a full charge on the EX-03 headset, my old Sony PS3 headset took 6 hours to fully charge. There were 3 earbuds included, and I used the smallest one. The earbud focused the sound inside my ear and was very soft, which was a vast improvement over my Sony PS3 earpiece. When I played Little Big Planet 1 and 2 and Splinter Cell: Blacklist, all the other players could hear me without any problems, and I could hear them loud and clear. The ear hook and microphone extension were easy to adjust to my comfort level, and even after a 2 hour stretch of gaming, this headset didn't cut into my ear or feel heavy with prolonged use. The volume up and down buttons were easy to use.CONS:The Gioteck EX-03 headset is only fitted for the right ear, so the lefties are out of luck on this one. It even says in the instruction manual "Unfortunately this is not possible." Truth be told, I rarely use my left ear for headset usage, but The Sony PS3 headset gave me the option to switch if I wanted to.Don't throw away the box thinking you can use your Sony cables to charge this headset - you have to use the charging cable that comes with it, nothing else works. When I put my headset on mute, there wasn't any visual indication on my PS3 screen (which does show up for the Sony PS3 headset) - instead, I would hear two descending tones about 4 seconds apart. If I wanted to turn my mic back on, I had to press the power button and I'd hear two ascending tones to indicate it was back on.MY VERDICT:On the whole, this is a very crisp and clear headset and does exactly what I want...allows me to hear and be heard without any discomfort. If that's what you want from a gaming headset (and you don't want to spend the extra $ for a Sony PS3 headset), then this one will get the job done.Recommended.

So anyone who online games knows that a good headset is essential for playing most efficiently with groups. Novice gamers also know that a headset provides a good way to socialize during online play. The Gioteck EX03 is a good headset for either group, but there are some small flaws.UNBOXING:The EX03 comes in a small 7x5x1.5" box, decorated with a camouflaged EX03 on front and a background silhouette of soldiers and smoke. Inside is a white protective box and a resealable plastic baggie with instructions, the EX03, a USB charger, and 3 sizes of earbuds.REVIEW:The EX03 is easy to wear, but careful not to lose the earbuds--it is painful to wear the EX03 without them. It's very light and weighs about an ounce or so.On my ear, I can hardly tell it's there. The instructions go through (with pictures) how to pair it with your PS3 and use the buttons. The pairing is very easy--just follow the instructions and the PS3's online prompts. The buttons are set up in a typical 3 button configuration: power (also acts as mute when EX03 is on), vol up, vol down. The buttons are also different shaped, so I didn't have any problems figuring out which was which when the EX03 was on my head. Then there's the charging: red LED and blue LED indicators show when charging is needed and finished. As for charging though, the USB connector is not a micro/mini usb end--it's proprietary to Gioteck. Therefore you cannot charge the headset on a typical USB charger. Do not lose the charging cord!As far as functionality, I find it's a mixed bag. Depending on which games I play, there is good and bad feedback from my friends. Some say they can hear me crystal clear, while others say I'm barely audible and there's a lot of background noise. Interesting since the EX03 is supposed to have noise-cancellation in the mic. To me, I just can't figure out how a mic that barely goes to the middle of my cheek is supposed to pick up sound anyway, so the fact that some of my friends can hear me is kind of a technological miracle.OVERALL:I recommend the EX03. When it can be heard, the quality is great. However, sometimes it can't be heard real well. The other cons are the lack of extra earplugs and the proprietary charging cord. The fact that the sound quality is 50/50 good and bad, I can't really say it's better than others. Overall, form factor, weight, comfort, button placement edge out the cons. For the money, this is a good bet.

I just recently got this item and was very exited to open it and use it, as I opened it I was a little bit surprised that the item was pretty small and started worrying that the mic wouldn't be able to hear me.So I got home and connected it, this was very easy thanks to the step by step instructions on the guide. Now, my first problem was that the ear loop is too big for my ears (I have very small ears) and it can't be adjusted to the right size, however, this wasnt a big problem as the buds helped keep it in and the loop made it a little but more stable. Now this isn't a big problem so I'm not going to take a hole star off.The second problem is the mic can't be adjusted to a different position even though it says it can,no problem what so ever because the mic can hear me fine, its not quite or too loud. This was no problem to me but for others it might be, I am not going to take a star because of this, just to let others know.My third problem is when I go into the accessories settings where you can set the volume to 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, you can also hear your self as a tester, well as I could hear myself I could hear a lot of other noises, not background noises as it was silent in my house, it was like a mini fan was inside the earpeice, this affects my speech but not that much, just a bit annoying to my friends, so because of this I'm not going to take a whole star away. Now, the good thing was the speaker is incedivle for such a small thing, I could hear them like crystal! Also the mic can hear you from quite a distance which is great so you don't have to put it right by your mouth, in fact you could have it half way up your face and it could still hear you!OK, my review sounds like I'm saying this item is really bad, but I must say, for £10 this is WAY more than what you pay for. This item is amazing and I highly suggest you buy it, just be careful if your picky and want a earpeice that's perfect in every way possible :)Also another great thing is they give you a 1 year warranty!!! Which is awesome!!I will update this later on in its life :)

I've had this headset for a few weeks now and have to say that it get's a 9 out of 10 for me.While it's not 100% perfect the drawbacks it does have are very, very minor quibbles. The headeset itself pops straight into the ear with an adjustable hook and mic arm. Both of these seem very sturdy and hard wearing so I have no concerns about it's build quality at all.The actual speaker that pops into the ear also has a variety of different sized rubber 'plugs' of varying sizes which are supplied. They can be a little frustrating to put on but once on they're not going to come off unless there's some sort of catastrophe and you shouldn't need to change them once you've decided which one works best for you. They make they whole thing a lot more comfortable as they provide some nice cushioning and the whole thing is very light and unobtrusive compared to other headsets. You also get a USB charger lead which has a small pin plug on the other end that slots straight into the headeset for charging. One thing to point out, this pin is a pretty tight fit and has to be pushed in quite firmly to begin charging. It may seem like it's in when you connect it but until you hear a quite audible click or feel it suddenly pop into place it isn't actually connected. The charge level on it is very pretty good with it seeming to last several hours between charges and charging up quite nicely but there doesn't seem to be any way to check the actual charge level so until you hear the low battery warning(which usually comes about 20-30 minutes before it dies), you don't really have any way of knowing it needs a recharge.Sound quality on it is excellent with the comms being very clear and in built volume controls on the side of the headset which are quite easy to locate and adjust while in use, much larger and more prominent buttons than on other headsets.Despite the minor niggles, this is a great little headset and gets a thumbs up from me.

If you do a lot of online gaming, it's definitely handy to have a device like this for voice-to-voice chat. And as far as bluetooth headsets go, this one from Gioteck does a pretty good job. While I'm not a big fan of the design (Call of Duty players might disagree), it has some pretty good features: It only takes about 3 hours to fully charge, which will give you 5-6 hours of gameplay. And though it's designed to charge via your PS3 controller dock, the USB cord will also let you charge elsewhere, like a computer for example. Unfortunately, you cannot use the device while it's charging, so you'll have to remember to plug it back in after each use.Because it is a single-ear device, fitting over your right ear, it is lightweight and easy to wear for longer periods of time. Although the sound quality isn't the greatest, it does a fine job for speech-only audio. While testing it out, I was also told the microphone did a pretty good job of transmitting sound clearly. As a bonus, this device also seems to work well with smart phones. So you could always grab this after a bit of gaming and bring it into your car to make hands-free calls. It pairs quite easily - actually easier than it pairs to a PS3 which is a 12-step process of navigating through menu screens.Overall, this headset does its job well, despite its small flaws.

***Jan 2015 update: Still got it, it's still going strong and I still love it***I've been using the EX-03 with my PS3 for over a month now (***over three years now!***). It's a great headset.Setup is child's play, using it is even easier. The instructions are really straightforward.Almost every function has a unique accompanying beep, from on/off to mute, volume and even low power. They are unobtrusive for the most part but the mute beep goes off every 5 seconds or so and it cancels any other ear output, so if a team mate is talking you may miss a word or two if your mic is muted. The low power beep kicks in when there's just a few minutes of charge left. The design is sleek and comfortable but it is right-ear only, unlike previous EX headsets. It's one of those headsets that you almost forget you're wearing. You get a good few hours play from a single charge and the mic is nice and clear. You will need to set the microphone volume to 4 or 5 in the PS3's 'audio device settings' menu to make sure you are heard, it's a bit quiet on the default level of 3 (most likely due to the 'noise cancelling' which should dull sounds that are further away from the mic)Good value for the price, so it's a big 5 stars from me.

A headset is a must for online gaming and with the release of "Grand Theft Auto V" I knew I'd need a reliable set. Generally I'd prefer an over-the-ear set instead of a single in-ear piece, but this option comes at a fairly substantial savings - particularly having the wireless Bluetooth functionality. It charges in only a few hours and fits snugly and comfortably in the right ear. Since it is made specifically for the PS3, I think it would've been a nice feature to have the same cable that charges the controllers work with the earpiece, because as it is there's yet another charging cable to keep up with. Of course I, like most folks with an array of electronics, have a drawer set aside just to store the cords and cables - so it's certainly not a major issue. It comes with 3 different sizes of earbuds to find the perfect fit and the piece offers clear enough sound. I only play the occasional online game, so this reasonably priced, easily stored headset is an ideal product for me. I think for those who play online games religiously would be better suited buying an over-the-ear headset that offers sound in both ears. For casual gamers like myself this product fits the bill just fine.

I've never heard of Gioteck and had no experience with their products, so when a chance was offered to review it, I decided to jump on it. I'm always looking for cheaper alternatives to other products, as long as they work well. With this Bluetooth headset, you're not getting the feature-rich products of other, much more expensive headsets. Like most Bluetooth devices, you have to pair this one with your Playstation 3, instead of simply plugging it in. It paired quickly and effortlessly (it also worked with my cellphone; however, I don't think I'd use it for that). The sound quality is decent. It's not the best I've used, but you're also looking at a ~$20 headset. It fit comfortably over my ear, though it seems to be designed for right ear only. The battery life usually lasts an afternoon of playing and typically took 3 or so hours to charge.Personally, I'd look towards other more expensive headsets in the future; however, for the budget conscious buyer, this is a great headset for the price.

This is a very nice Bluetooth headset that is a refreshing alternative to the huge over-the-ear headsets you find so often. I find that those sets, while providing excellent stereo sound, can be very tiresome after a while, especially when gaming over long periods of time. This Earset (I find it hard to call it a Headset) fits comfortably into one ear and even after several hours use remains very comfortable. I really can't recommend it enough for the PS3 gamer. I am not aware whether this will work with the soon-to-be-released PS4, but hopefully it will be. Otherwise this will prove to be a gadget with a remarkably short lifespan. One other comment. This is not just comfortable compares with other PS3 headsets,it is comfortable when compared with other Bluetooth single-ear sets. This has more padding than any other Bluetooth set that I have encountered. It really is a device that makes gaming a lot more fun. Now, if only it turns out to be PS4 compatible.

I wanted a headset for my ps3 after reading all the reviews on them i went with gioteck. the one i liked had no review .Reading the other one's in the range i took a chance and purchased the EX03. when it came i opened it up it look really good with the camoflage colours on the side (sad i know). straight away i wanted to try it had to charge it up first which took 3hrs. (like every thing new first charge is always the longest)From the time i turned the ps3 on and finished setting up the headset it took 5 to 6 minutes "i'am not great with things like that" so that was one great thing about this. The sound and speech is clear and its so easy to turn up and down while playing with two small buttonson the side.over the moom with this any one looking to get a headset for the ps3 should really give this a look

I like wireless headsets and when I was given the chance to use this I jumped on it. I have review sets that are hundreds of dollars and ones that arent and for the most part you get what you pay for. This headset is pretty decent for the price. It works well and you can hear what you need to hear and others can hear you talk. It pairs pretty easily, well, as easy as a bluetooth item will pair with something. It does have a quick charge time and it lasts for a while. It is pretty comfortable at that. Most gamers play for a while and you need something that isnt going to drive you nuts. Weight is an issue for me and this set is pretty light. That is a big bonus for me. Regardless,at this pricepoint it is worth it. It works as advertized and I was able to use it as it was meant to be used.

I was in the market for an inexpensive bluetooth headset to use with GTA Online. I would highly recommend this one for the following reasons:-The in-ear design is effective and outputting audio-The extended mic picks up the user's voice perfectly-The rechargeable battery lasts longer than any other bluetooth headset I've used-The LED light is bright and works well to communicate the state of the device-The construction is light and solid-It looks badassNothing is perfect however:-The charger is proprietary, not usb like others-When the mic is muted (by pressing the main button once) it has a tone every 2 seconds notifying you that it is mutedI would recommend this, you won't find a headset for a better price than this.

This headset is so frigging awesome, I mean for the quality i would think it's more than £35! It's a little uncomfortable when you first start using it but that's because your ear is getting used to it, The voice quality is Impressive and it can pick up my voice when i;m meters away! This is the key headset for a online gamer!!!And one more thing! you can actually use it while its charging, all you have to do is after you set it up with your ps3, You need to plug in the charger and when the red light is on to indicate that the headset is on charge, put it on and hold the power button till you hear a beep and let go, and you're done! It's SICK

I've never had an ear piece before and i really didn't want to pay for an expensive one. i saw this gio-tech and read up on it. it came in the box perfect, and was ready to go. Syncing it to my ps3 was easy and quick. i use it now to play COD and Borderlands and it has really helped my game play and being connected with my friends. mind it that it doesn't have the sound like a turtle beach but since i don't use it just for COD, it was a win/win for everything. my wallet didn't suffer, my gaming increased, and I'm far better off now. highly recommended for someone who isn't looking to spend alot but still wants a high quality ear piece.

This is an adequate headset if you are not ready to invest much in your Bluetooth headset. It was easy to use right out of the box - though you do have to pair it since it won't automatically pick up. To charge you need to use the provided power cord, but charging doesn't take long, so it won't be sucking up the available outlet that long. The sound is okay, not great, but it works. The only real drawback for me was that it will only work on your right ear. So if, like me, you prefer to be able to move it around, you will need to look elsewhere.
