Had never heard of this manufacturer before, and after a little time on the dreaded 'Google', i found that the information on them/products was a little sketchy and incomplete. So purely on a whim, i decided to purchase this Trio set of handsets with the answer system.. For a multitude of reasons, which i will not bore everyone with. . . Needless to say, the BT cordless phone system i got it to replace was and had never been anything better in quality and reliability than 2 plastic cups and a bit of string.. . and that would have bene better. So on the purchase i was not expecting anything really great..I was actually VERY SURPRISED. The build quality, like everything now days is plastic and usually cheap rubbish. This phone system is still plastic..(boooo) but it is seemingly well put together and actually quite robust which surprised me to start with. The design is very aesthetically pleasing and the whole unit is unobtrusive, and more to the point ACTUALLY FUNCTIONAL.More features on the phone system than you can shake a stick at, yet it remains very simple and easy to use. Packed with useful features.1 extremely simple feature i loved straight away, usually, multiple handset systems, you have to input your phonebook/contacts into each handset. . Not here. Put your contacts into 1 handset and you can transfer them to any or all of the other handsets as you see fit.. Simple and easy.Obviously you can make internal calls and dial each and any handset from another like an intercom system. and a very smart feature is the baby monitoring mode that automatically activates if the sound reaches a certain level. Very sensitive too yet controllable. As for the phone call features. . . Even if i do say so myself, one of the clearest sounding phones in both making and receiving calls i have used/heard.I can not comment on battery life on standby and use as i have not had the phone more than a few days yet..I will stand by my words here in what i say.. Best phone system i personally have ever owned, bought. I would be remiss if i did not say to anyone looking to upgrade, change or simply get a new home phone system, that you would be very silly to not even consider acquiring this system.. (Mine was the Gigaset C430A)I genuinely can not recommend it strongly enough..Read full review...

A very good replacement phone set. Bought this to replace my BT branded phone I had for five years because the buttons failed to work on it. I opted for a different brand this time and went with this, as a Warehouse Deal from Amazon - it was cheaper, had been opened but otherwise the phone was in impeccable condition.Arrived the next day via Prime, and had it all set up and installed in 15 minutes. Both phones works flawlessly and it also happily works with my CPR Call Blocking device I have attached to my phoneline. Even though my new phones comes with call blocking features (Silence anonymous calls etc) I kept my magic box plugged in just out of habit. It's quite attractive to look at,I can clearly hear people at the other end of the call, and they can hear me clearly too. You can also use it on loudspeaker for hands free and it works a treat also. I also noticed it had a headphone jack on the handset (not of the standard variety though - it uses a 2.5mm jack, not the universal 3.5mm which is strange!) So I presume you can plug your headphones into it for some strange reason. There are a ton of features on the phone which I don't think I'll use (calendar, baby monitor etc), but as long as it works and accepts ingoing/ outbound calls, then I am happy. Will review more in-depth once I've had it a few months in....Money well spent.

I've used Siemens Gigaset phones for many years now, which is probably the best recommendation I can give. They are, in my view, the best available cordless phones. They have excellent range, very clear sound and, by and large, easy-to-use controls. The display is very clear, too. The address book is easy to set up and can be ported between handsets with a couple of key depressions. There is just one annoying feature (for which I haven't docked a star). You can allocate a ring tone to each entry in the address book, which is fine. But you have to do that at the individual level. That is, you can't set the same ring tone to all entries with a single command. This would be very useful because then you could distinguish instantly between callers you know and everyone else. As it is, you can only do this by configuring perhaps hundreds of entries separately. The blacklist mechanism is very intuitive but not particularly useful. That isn't a design flaw. It's simply that the telephone spammers have invented ever more sophisticated work-arounds, which mostly entail spoofing 'real' phone numbers.I like the fact that the batteries are of the conventional rechargeable NMiH variety. This way, they can easily be replaced if necessary.

It's solid, well made and gives has fairly good sound quality. The range is good, even through thick stone walls - gives about 120 feet outside. Much better than the BT versions we previously had, in build and finish, and was cheaper than similar models from the big firms. Lots of features, which we don't get round to using, and a good answering machine which is simple to operate and can be accessed remotely (from another phone) which is really useful if you're away and want to check messages. We've had one base station break, but that was due to a power surge from lightning and our fault for not having the phone connector through a surge protector. This was a replacement for that unit, and it works fine with the phones from the previous unit, which were easy to re-register to the base station. It also works with previous Gigaset phones from a different model (as long as they have their own bases, as the base design is different), so we didn't have to throw all our phones away when the base station broke and we got a newer model. That's a very good feature. No real complaints about this model, and the previous one lasted several years and was still working perfectly until the lightning strike knocked it out.

Delighted with this excellent, so easy to use, cordless phone with answering machine. So much so that we bought one for the office after being so pleased with the one at home.Great features - including a flashing red light if someone has rung and left a 1571 message (or even if a caller rang off without leaving any message). It is so handy not having to dial 1471 just to check if anyone rang.Too many fantastic features to list in a review but 2 of them that we really like are that you can set answerphone to auto after a preferred number of rings allowing you to answer if you're in or it goes straight to answerphone. This means you don't have to go to the trouble of switching answerphone on and off whenever going out.The other excellent feature is the calls list which is easy to access and shows the numbers of all incoming, outgoing and missed calls. We've used numerous cordless phones with anwerphone over the years; none have ever pleased us as much as the Gigaset C430A. All credit, and gratitude, to whoever designed this phone; clearly they really understand about essential features plus additional helpful ones. Well done Gigaset (formerly Siemens).

I bought this as a replacement an older version of a Gigaset handset that had developed a crackle on one handset. These phones are nothing short of excellent - the conversation whilst on speaker is clear - the person on the other end of the line is unaware that they are on loudspeaker.I am with Virginmedia and had to call them up to activate the caller ID aspect of the phone. They wanted to charge £2.50 ish to set this per month. I sweet talked them and they have set it up for free. It is great to see a name pop up on the handset when someone in your 'phone-book' calls. Not had any cause to add a number to the 'blacklist' yet but it is good to know I can.The only downside is the lack of a proper ring tone - they are all too futuristic or just far to quite. But that said I have found one that I can put up with. These are a decent phone with lots of features - too many for my use - easy to set up. Input the numbers on one unit and it will send them to all of the other units.I highly recommend these if you are looking for a new phone in this price bracket.

We bought this to replace our old Panasonic phone which died recently. Having read rave reviews, I had high hopes for this one.On a positive note, we can actually hear the caller and they report they can hear us loud and clear, which is a bonus. The set up is nice and simple and the handset looks decent and not too cheap and plasticky. On the not so good: occasionally I can hear a slight interruption / fuzziness on the line. The caller cannot hear this, only me. Annoying. It's not my mobile hovering too close either, I'm not sure what it is.The ringtone, as others have reported, could do with being a bit louder. For the price paid, it's good... but I'm not overwhelmed by it.UPDATE: 21/08/2014 - After four months of use,I can say I'm quite happy with this telephone and have awarded it four stars now instead of three. The teething problems seem to have vanished and I'm used to the ringtone. I have since recommended this handset to my parents who are looking to replace their old ones.

Generally excellent, but as usual has far more features than necessary, and instruction book (at least there is a book) complex. Many elderly people would not be able to cope, although most competitors seem to be as bad in this respect. Ringtones, whilst many, at least on the handsets are mostly either "poppy" or futuristic. Pick the wrong one and you won't know if Radio Ones come on, the washing machines finished, or the phone is actually ringing. However there are at least one or two that are OK, but unless you switch the base station ringtone off you will have at least two different tones echoing throught the house.Having nit-picked, volume control of tones and speakers is good, and sound quality is as good as any. Intercom feature is useful and easy to use. Haven't used the answer machine yet (can be de-activated) as I'm trying to devise a rude message for unsolicited calls, but we receive few anyway, and this phone actually hasn't let any through as yet (6 days).

I seem to have gone through a huge number of cordless phones with answer machine in recent years. Some end up with buttons stuck, making dialing impossible (especially if it the zero!), others the batteries fail to charge properly, or won't reliably hold their charge. I've had BT-branded ones, Philips, Panasonic, and others. Now I'm om Siemens. Call quality seems exceptionally clear, and there's no way you'll ignore the ringer if set on full volume! The recording quality is fine, as is the hands-free, and the address book is really easy to sue. When in standby the handset display shows a little analogue which is a nice touch. All in all, I'm impressed, and would recommend it to others.Let's just see how it stands up in use, though I've no reason to suspect that it will exhibit similar problems to the others, and it was recommended by Which. Oh, and the range between the base station and handset seems much better than my previous ones. So I'm really hopeful....

When I ordered these instead of my Panasonic Quad set I had in mind and had been very loyal to this company for many years.. but found after using these phones for a few years the crackling and distortion sound quality detereation was too much to bear any longer.I am so glad I did as they look nice quality rounded edges typical of German design and easy to set up without the need to register the base/handsets(which I had to do with Panasonic). With plenty of features to keep me going throughout the winter. One niggle which others may not have noticed before- Gigaset is a brand name of Siemens GmbH stating this phone set is made in Germany and there are markings on the base units stating that, but I did notice all the power supply units (3 pin 13amp UK) state they are made in China. As I am very impressed with these phones I have ordered an L410 to add to make my life easier. So well done Siemens you have come up trumps again.

I had returned a comparable Panasonic KX-TGC220EB Digital Cordless Phone with LCD Display that was difficult to hear even when turn up to max volume. This phone works much better for me. Good volume in comparison. Nice color display. Decent ringer chime selections. Voicemail works just fine. I haven't been able to test the caller ID (caller's listed name) since we don't have that service but the telephone numbers do show up for calls. IT looks nice and fits well in the hand. Speaker phone seems good and I haven't gotten complaints or callers asking me to turn off speaker.I've had it for about 1.5 months now without issues. The one slight negative is that it comes with a non-RJ type telephone wire. This may be the startdard type in some countries but not where I am. SO keep that in mind that you may need to dig up an old one or buy one separately.

Took a long time to first charge up, and a little while to set up the answer machine and handsets, but once that was done I found the set-up great. Had them a while now and no problems with answer machine or handsets, and they look good around the home. I also use the handset outside and the sound is still as good.as indoors. If you have a very large garden though, this model of phones does have a handset specifically for outside your home that amplifies the sound.. The one thing I cannot comment on is the remote control for accessing messages while away from home, as I have not used this option. Highly recomment this set, but also have had other models of Siemems Gigaset Dect phones since they started making them, and they are a very good product and an attractive set-up.Can you tell yet how much I love my phones?

This is an excellent replacement for our very old previous Siemans Gigaset A165. Unfortunately, the slave phone to that failed to hold its charge after many years. In fact, the main A165 handset works with the C430A system using the old slave charging unit so we now have 3 phones in the home. The actual C430A system is very good and although I think I read that it is flimsy it is nothing of the sort. We occasionally use it for dual calls to a friend and it works really well with both C430A handsets giving a clear conversation. We checked in advance that it was not made in China (its made in Germany)as we don't buy goods from there due to their torture of political prisoners; use of child labour; oppression in Tibet; trashing of the environment; bullying tactics towards democracies etc etc.

Great product. I read several reviews before purchasing...was almost put off by those saying it was difficult to set these phones up and the instructions were not clear. I found them extremely easy to set up....even the transfer of my contact list to the second handset and I fall in the bracket of an "older" customer so not sure why those in the younger bracket had so much trouble. The sound quality is extremely good on both handsets. I like the analogue clock option and how easy it was to set up the answer machine. Good to have the option to block calls from withheld numbers as well. The phones look nice and function perfectly well for my needs....there are lots of functions that I have yetto investigate but happy with what I have now.A great mid-range phone....good value for money.

After having two different makes of expensive phones going wrong, I thought I would try these. setting up was OK by using the manual. But after entering my phone numbers in the fist phone, I expected them to be automatically transferred to the other phones, but that didn't happen. I looked in the manual and found you can copy the whole phone book over to another phone with out any fuss. I have to admit that the ringing tone of the handset isn't that loud, But I found a workaround that. If you have only one handset and answerphone base, Set the base ringing tone to the highest volume and the handset to the highest volume, select two similar tones,if you get it right when the phone rings it sounds like a fire engine drivering through the house. So everything is going well so far
