There is only one thing to not like about this hairdryer and I will come to that. But it is a really light in weight and attractively designed item with its own carry bag proudly embossed with the ghd logo. It switches easily from cool to hot to very hot with the sliding switch on the handle and all these settings do what they say almost instantly, so cool goes to v hot and back again with no waiting at all. And it gives an amazingly powerful blow for such a small item. My only negative on this and its hardly a negative- but you do need to be v careful you switch the thing back to appropriate voltage when you travel. that is not difficult to do, but you might just forget. The rotary switch is on the handle and just needs a twist with a coin inserted in the slot between 240v or 120v. Did I mention the handle folds up parallel to the body for really easy packing in its bag and in your luggage. Good quality electrical cable as well. It comes in a very attractive package, like all ghd stuff. I would have appreciated a little note in the box which said just pull the handle out at right angles to the body to operate. It really is quite stiff which is a good point because it clicks very positively into shape and does not flop about when operating. The handle has a click stop between the parallel to the body and the right angles to the body position for even better directional control. Really like this item which was swiftly pinched by by partner! BTW its perfectly suitable for home use, if you just want a small dryer which takes up little room and if you are always in a hurry. It only has one nozzle by the way but thats perfectly ok for people always in a hurry

What I liked best about this hairdryer was how lightweight it was, my usual travel hairdryer tends to take a good bit of weight in my luggage, whereas this one I would be much happier to pack. It is the size you would expect for a travel hairdryer, nothing spectacular but absolutely fine. It comes with a bag to put it in for travelling with a ghd logo drawstring - I liked the bag as it keeps it protected and contained rather than having the flex splayed around your suitcase! The concentrator nozzle is removable making it even smaller to pack if necessary. With regards to the functioning of the hairdryer I was pleased with the speed of which I dried my hair (I have very thick hair and it can take a long time to dry).I had dried my hair within 10 minutes and it left my hair shiny rather than frizzy like most travel hairdryers tend to do. There are two speed settings which work very well (you don't need to hold the button down). However I was very disappointed with the cool setting. The cool setting didn't cool down and remained warm, defeating the object of using the cool air to set the ends of the hair in place. I wondered if it struggled to cool down after being on the highest setting, but the next day I immediately tried the cool setting and it still came out warm. The length of the cord I measured as approx. 180cm/70inch, which for me as fantastic for a travel hairdryer - plenty of opportunity to be able to stretch the cord across to a mirror if the plug socket isn't within easy reach!Overall a great travel hairdryer with regards to size, weight and power; the only thing letting it down is the poor functioning of the cool setting.

This is a fairly nice looking travel hairdryer. Inside the box you'll find the hairdryer and a drawstring travel bag, along with a thick 79 page instruction book of which only 10 pages relate to your own language. The dryer has a 3-pin plug attached and the handle folds forwards towards the front of the dryer, but at the same time curves away so it's a little wider than it could have been - a slightly strange design decision. There's a clear blow dry nozzle on the front, which can be removed, and as for controls there's just an on/off switch which has four positions (off, cool, medium, high) and a dial which allows you to set the dryer to 120 or 240 volts. It's quite a snazzy looking thing with its ghd logos on the sides, and a gold badge on the rear air intake, and a gold coloured on/off switch. The bag is also ghd branded, with a matching ribbon and gold adjustment toggle. In use it's perfectly acceptable as a travel hairdryer. It's not too noisy, and its 1200 watts offer a decent amount of power. Some might find it a little noisy or a bit under-powered, and I accept that when you compare it to a dryer you might use at home it may well be, but for one you'll probably stick in a suitcase and use a few times a year, and usually in hot places where your hair is already half dry by the time you're picking this up, it's absolutely fine.

This ghd travel hairdryer is compact and extremely lightweight. The folding handle mechanism makes it even more compact for packing in suitcases / travel bags. Don't be fooled by the small size / weight however, as this hairdryer still packs a punch (in fact, it's more powerful than some regular hairdryers I have tried!). GhD state that it delivers 70% of the power of their full size dryer and 50% of the weight - and it does not disappoint! The hair dryer is elegantly packaged in a classic black and gold box and comes with a free removable concentrator nozzle and draw string protective black dust bag. It has Dual Voltage (240V & 120V) so will work all over the globe, with three heat settings including a cold setting which I think is fairly unusual for a travel hairdryer. I do not have a very labour intensive haircut to style, but every time I use it, it leaves by shoulder length fine hair looking more voluminous and shiny.I think the price point reflects the quality of the product, which would be a great addition to anyone's travel bag!

It's absolutely essential that I have a hair-dryer to dry my hair as the frazzled witch look is not very fetching. Taking my rather large home one in backpacks on trains is a bit of a pain so this fold away, good branded one, seems to be the perfect solution. I've tried 'travel' hair-dryers before and they've been like using a doll's play thing, no power, low heat and no styling ability. This GHD is quite weighty for a travel hair-dryer but does have a folding handle to greatly reduce its L shaped size. It comes fitted with a British three-pin plug, a directional nozzle and a drawstring bag to keep it in. There is also a two year guarantee. There is a voltage switch to change from 240 to 120 depending on the country you are visiting. It's not too noisy in use either.I think this suits me quite well because the highest setting is quite hot and fast which is what I need to tame my thick, long frizzy hair. It's not as good as a full sized real hair-dryer but this is a good substitute when travelling – the price though!!!

This is a well made travel hair dryer with a durable feeling folding mechanism, a powerful output, a cold shot as well as two heat settings, a travel bag and the added frisson of the GHD brand (is that just me?! they just feel soooo luxurious to me!).I find it requires me to style my hair quite fast and with a paddle brush as the blast is very strong and blows my hair everywhere if I'm not careful... but this is something I have adapted to - largely because I LOVE how fast it dries my hair. It compares well with the full sized dryer (which is my favourite dryer ever) in my view. The cord seems shorter on this dryer - I think because it needs to be packable.I don't find it problematic as it is only for travel use.For this to be perfect for me I would like a slower warm setting and I also think this is a luxury price tag for a travel hair dryer... but it is an excellent hair dryer - so I feel a little bit mean saying 4 stars - but it is great rather than perfect imho.

If you love your ghd hairdryer, but can really justify the space it takes up in your suitcase, nor can you face another trip away with the hotel dryer or a cheap and cheerful travel dryer that you spotted in the airport that doesn't do anything, then take heart. This is brilliant - it's not quite as good as the full sized hairdryer - with 70% of the power, but 70% of the power of a full size ghd dryer is better than any of the alternatives in my opinion. It comes with a protective carry case, which is good to keep it safe and secure but also makes it an easy shape to pack around. It's so much lighter as well as more compact than a full sized hair dryer and it looks good and feels good to use too.If you are thinking of buying this for a gift for someone - they will love it!

This is a great little hairdryer, which I use all the time now. It dries my hair quickly and efficiently, and the handle folds up so that it fits into a bag or suitcase. After use, the blow-dry nozzle is the only part that retains any heat, so it can be packed quickly after use. There are three settings - hot and cool on the fast dry settings, and cool on the slower setting. Dual voltage is useful, but the lead could be a little longer, I think. I note that this is less powerful, and doesn't get as hot as a standard ghd hairdryer. This isn't a problem for me as I have very short hair, but it might not be suitable for some people.

This travel hairdryer from ghd is perfect for use on the go. Packed away in a sturdy case, the hairdryer is super-easy to transport, but thanks to the solid construction you can also be confident nothing will be damaged along the way!The handle folds down to make the hairdryer more compact, and the recessed insert in the case keeps everything tidy and secure. For a relatively small hairdryer, it nevertheless packs a punch with power, while the different heat settings mean you can control the expelled air to suit whatever style you are trying to achieve.A must-have for any frequent traveller!

This is a really good dryer...It’s powerful and great for drying and styling hair...It’s in a travel bag that’s a small hard case and the dryer folds to fit inside it...Although this is a travel dryer it’s not the smallest I’ve ever seen. It’s more like a half size dryer...The case is excellent but again not small... so for a suitcase? On one hand it’s perfect as the dryer is neatly away and protected on the other it’s quire large... it does have a good carry handle on it though...So??ProsGood dryerFolds upGreat caseConsCase is largeNot the smallest travel hairdryer

This is a good travel hairdryer that comes in a great travel case. In fact, the case is a lot bigger than the hairdryer and bulks it out a lot. The actual hairdryer is as large as the small standard driers that you can buy, but it folds at the handle. There are 2 heat settings and a cool setting. If you have short length hair, then power 1 should be OK, however for longer hair then you will need setting 2. The lead is a good size but would have preferred a bit longer length.Build quality is good and the drier is light so is a great travel item.

I passed this to my wife to check out, these are the results. The dryer is efficient, and lives up to the expectation of being light to handle with no evidence of excessive heat. The controls are basic but easy to handle. It's size is no more than an average bathroom accessories bag and should fit in most light luggage cases. Once you've worked out the process it fits back in its case with no trouble. Overall a useful little model, will even double up as a standard home hairdryer if necessary.Recommended

For such a neat little item, this hairdryer does a great job.I have to be honest - I wanted it primarily to dry watercolour paintings while I was working on them, and it's been brilliant for that. But as a hairdryer it's great too. The handle folds, to take up less room in the travel case, and the case itself is light but sturdy. I would describe it as 'semi-hard', but it should certainly offer all the protection the dryer itself will need.Mine came with a standard UK 3-pin plug.

I have never used a decent travel hairdryer - they're always as much use as airdrying and fairly bulky and heavy to pack. However this little guy is brilliant. It feels only marginally less strong than a regular hairdryer, comes in an excellent tough little carry case with space for any personal extras. There's a directional nozzle and two settings, plus adjustable voltage (110 and 240).It is presented beautifully and makes an excellent gift.

This is a good dryer. Not as powerful as normal ones (at 70%), but that's how they keep it light in weight. The handle folds down. I would have liked the firmer case than the drawstring bag, as it works out the same price. The dryer works well and is a good, reliable make. I am pleased with it. I am sure it will be great for packing for the holidays. Would recommend. Dried my hair well and wasn't too low in power.
