My wife is a great fan of Games and when we have family over at Christmas, we invariably bring out a fun, quick game, as the rest of the family/friends are not quite into them as much as Mrs C. We have found quick interactive games are the best. This game meets the criteria but I am not sure some people will want their thumbs rendered inactive, as in the way this game works. The game comes with 60 cards which tell you to draw, sculpt or do it challenges. It also contains four strips which block the use of the thumbs, two pots of modeling clay, two notepads and instructions. The game is very simple, you tie up your thumbs, pick a card and you have to do the action on the card.Modelling clay with no thumbs is more difficult than you might think. You will need things like pencils and household items, so read the cards and make sure you have what you need, before starting the game. You need to set an ending, as there is no natural ending to the game. It is fast and if you have had a little to drink, it can be great fun, even for the more stayed in the party. I like it but I could see not everyone will, as it can make some people feel uncomfortable as you can fail in doing simple tasks. I have seen scenario's where some people do get offended when people laugh at them. The only thing I don't like is the fact there are too few cards for such a fast game and the manufacturer forces you to buy more if you cover all the cards. At this price, I think having 100+ cards would be a good idea.Overall this is a fun fast game, which I am happy to play.

Inside the box is a pack of cards (60) with 'draw it', 'sculpt it' or 'do it' challenges. There are two pots of modelling clay (like playdoh), two notepads and four wrapping strips with Velcro that constrain your thumb. In addition there is a simple instruction booklet which reveals just how simple the game is. Basically, you just have to sculpt a suggested model or copy a drawing of a suggested item or do a particular suggested task with your thumbs tied up so you can't use them. This sounds easy, but it isn't! This is however a fairly quick game to play or at least it lasts as long as you want it too. The do it challenges might need items from around the home or wardrobe and for drawing you will need pencils (not provided). The key items are these straps that restrain your thumbs, and the good news is that they are machine washable so you can keep them clean for years to come. If you like practical games rather than mind games, then this is really for you. Its a great one to play after a dinner party, with a mixed group, but this can involve children from age 8 upwards. If you like the practical side of Cranium, then this is for you. This is probably not for a traditional board game player, but it s amazing how much laughter you can have when trying to sculpt an insect without your thumbs!A worthwhile game!

If you are a family of serious game players, this probably isn't the game for you.Basically it's a game that judges how dextrous you are, based on the creations you produce with pad and pencil, and modelling dough when your hands are bound by the wraps supplied. As well as the two players a third person is required (according to the rules) to judge the creations. Cue arguments, in competitive families or groups. It's a lot more fun to bin the rules and just have a go at the challenges, to see what you can all come up with,.The two pots of modelling dough are quite small, and as anybody who has had toddlers in the house probably knows, this stuff becomes unusable unless stored very carefully. The dough also gets under nails, bits flake off and the amounts of usable dough will quickly reduce, unless you are careful. It's possible to make your own playdough from basic household ingredients, and this is something you may well have to do if the game becomes a favourite. There is a bit of preparation involved, in having to collect items such as a pillowcase and pairs of shoes with laces, as dexterity tests. Which is good fun, until you discover the contents of the airing cupboard and shoe rack scattered following a search ...

This is a fun, fast paced game for 3+ players, aged 8 and up. The idea is very simple – you wrap your hands in bands, which means you cannot use your thumbs, and then earn cards by performing challenges without using your thumbs. The game comes with the bands (which are washable), a deck of sixty cards, pads of paper and some clay. You do need some household items for other challenges – plastic or paper cups, zip up jackets, pillows and pillowcases, coins, re-sealable bags and rubber bands. However, although these are all pretty typical items, it might be worth taking out cards for items you don’t have first before playing. The idea of the game is to wrap up your thumbs, draw a card and pick an opponent to play against. The challenges are fairly easy and involve drawing things, sculpting things from clay or folding paper, doing up a zip, etc. Three cards and you win. There are also wild cards, which enable you to make up your own challenge. This is lots of silly fun, which will be popular with children and adults alike.

This game is SO much fun. It's such a simple idea - wrap up your hands so you have no thumbs to help you perform various tasks, either drawing or writing things, or modelling something using the enclosed pots of dough. It's got everything you need to play straightaway and it is such a simple game, the rules are minimal - you can't use your thumbs and the first person to get to complete three tasks is the winner. My only small gripe is that when you open the box, everything is fitted into one half of the box, it's a ridiculous waste of materials (and storage space), when this game could be in a box half the size.

The idea of the 'Get a Grip' game is simple; there are 60 cards each of which has a task on it -- to either model something using the supplied clay, copy a drawing, or another random task -- all without the use of your thumbs (for which there are straps to go round your thumb/hand to make your thumbs useless). It's quite quick to play, and it's proved very, very entertaining; we played it several times last night, and most of us made a fool of ourselves. A really simple idea that makes a great game -- and a good family game for Christmas, or at any time. Recommended.

As a family we had a great time with this game. Only complaint is we needed more bands so more could get involved but we are a large family. Bought as a Christmas gift it was very well received by 11yr old who got it but being honest think the adults had more fun. Obviously comes with ideas such a dough for moulding etc but with a little imagination you can add you own games which the kids loved. Hours of entertainment with this for all ages. Arrived on time and well packaged. Would recommend

This is such a simple game, virtually no instructions needed, just put the hand bands on, pickup a card then complete the challenges - no thumbs allowed! This is the sort of game that kids and adults can play together so it's very sociable and insane fun, it really does create some very comical moments as participants try to 'draw it', 'sculpt it' or 'do it' without the help of their thumbs, much harder than what you think! Great fun for all.

My kids watch YouTube a lot and have seen and enjoyed no thumb challenge videos. So they definitely wanted to try it for themselves and they weren't disappointed having great fun with this game. Sure there are extras required for some of the challenges such as plastic cups and rubber bands which meant we had to skip some challenges but they still love playing this game.

Highly entertaining and fun for all ages and personalities. Nothing too tricky to learn. You just need a sense of humour and fun. You think it won't be too bad but it's actually quite challenging without the full movement of your hand. Especially for someone like myself who can't draw in the first place without the limits imposed here!

I was looking for something new and different and i came across this!!! Seemed interesting and i glad i made the purchase!!! good to play with friends and family and who knew that getting rid of your thumb could be so difficult!! to draw or make something out of play dough haha!! especially on a timer!

This is an inexpensive way to ensure an evening of fun. The twist that thumbs have to be immobilised takes away the advantage that the artier types always have in drawing and modelling games and also levels the playing field between adults and kids. It's enormous fun and I'd recommend it to anyone.
