I never had an airbed before, so I was a bit worried reading some reviews on Amazon. It was because the half price offer, I finally decided to order one. I don't know why others had bad experience, as I did not and I found it was so easy to use.Basically what you need to do are:(1) Plug the air outlet with a plastic cap available.(2) Unplug the cap of the built in foot pump and start pumping. When pumping use a bit of your common sense so that you let the air get in through the inlet. Keep on pumping until it reach your ideal pressure.(3) Plug back the cap to the air inlet of the pump.In my experience, the airbed was ready in less than half an hour. In my opinion, the material used is rather good, quite thick to stand some pressures. The top layer is covered with a material that stick to your bed sheet. It is so comfortable that it is difficult to decide which feels better if compared with quality spring beds. Best of all is the price, it is now still offered half price by Amazon. If I may suggest, within the manual printed on the box, there should be a range of recommended pressures to use, so that user knows the limits. Within the bed, ideally there should be a pressure gauge for user to know when to top up the air. These, however, should not significantly increase the price.I hope this helps!

I don't understand why others have had problems, in my case, it was really easy to set it up (took me less than 10 minutes). All you need to do is take the black lid and the little white plug at the top corner of the bed, start pumping without covering the inlet so that air can get in then close it tightly once it's inflated. Then take out the black cap at the bottom when you want to deflate it which takes less than 4 minutes. Pretty fast and easy!!4 stars because it did not manage to hold on firmly all night and needed some air by the morning. But for its price, it is good for few nights, its of good quality and the pump works just perfect.Note that the PVC is really durable but its smell can be really annoying at first so I suggest you take it out of the box and hang it outside for a while before you use it, and when you want to use it make sure to put a sheet or a blanket on top or else it's gonna be a cold night.

While there's a knack to getting the pump working (you need to seal the hole completely with your foot on the down stroke and then remove it to let air in on the up stroke - barefoot is best), once you've got it worked out this is a great spare bed.I live in a small flat and this blows up quickly, is big enough to sleep on but light enough to move out of the way during the day and it is comfy enough for a few nights. I've had no complaints from guests and I've slept on it myself for a few nights (and I agree with putting a spare duvet or blanket on the top of the mattress for more warmth, but I'm a cold bod). One tip: I have fake wood floors and the mattress squeaks terribly with every movement.Put a sheet between the floor and the mattress and you'll have a squeak-free night.

This is an excellent airbed - easy to inflate, once you get the hang of the integral foot pump, and very comfortable. Once removed from the box we had the bed inflated in about 10 minutes. The foot pump is at the bottom and when the bed is inflated the pump is completely housed within the bed causing no discomfort when lying down. Two of us slept on the bed and it was really comfortable although we used a fitted sheet over the bed but this would not really be necessary as the upper surface is flocked and is not cold to the touch. Deflation is also easy although we used a vacuum cleaner to remove the last of the air and were able to get the bed to fit back into its original box - not always aneasy task!

Excellent airbed paid just £12.49 which is a bargain price for a double airbed.First thing I would say is footpumps in my opinion are a pain, so bought to inflate with 12v pump, which I purchased from argos for less than a tenner some years ago & inflated within a few minutes.Footpump is still handy as it allows you to keep fully inflated, as all airbeds suffer from air seepage, over a 24 hour period & saves having to take airbed to 12v source.Material is of high quality, no punctures here. Used on a futon type construction in our van & had very comfortable sleep over 3 nights.I'm surprised by some of the negative feedback as I believe this is a great buy at a bargain price.

I needed a spare bed when my mum and sister came to visit me for 8 days. I never had an airbed before, so I was a bit worried reading some reviews on Amazon. I don't know why others had bad experience, as I did not and I found it was so easy to use. It inflated in about 15 minutes no problem with the integrated footpump. It is easy and pumps the bed up to a desired pressure very quickly. I slept on it myself with my sister and although we are quite tall (5' 11) it was comfortable for both of us. I had to refill the bed a little the third day though. I'm glad I bought this product and will definitely use it again whenever unexpected visitors show up.

Writing this review after having slept on it for 5 consecutive days. The important element of the equation is to pump the mattress to a good firmness, a bit too soft and it becomes uncomfortable. However, after I pumped the mattress, I was able to sleep like a baby for several nights. The foot pump is efficient - takes a bit of time at first, but fills up the mattress rapidly. Storage is a snap after my 5 nights, I folded the mattress into a nice little square and placed it in my wardrobe. Highly recommend for city dwellers that need an extra bed and dont want to buy a sofa bed - this product is really amazing and comfortable.

Good value, very comfortable. Simple to inflate/deflate. BUT don't read the box. Newby users - The built-in inflator is a bellows NOT a pump. Remove bungs and push down with foot - then lift off foot to allow bellows to fill again before next push down - repeat. To deflate unscrew the entire black valve at the other end. Go back to the top and start pushing and rolling up. Do Not forget to put the valve back in! Remove the cap on the black valve if you want to inflate with an external pump - if you can find one with a suitable adaptor. Simple. Meercats don't read. I have informed Gelert - in the mean time - do as above.

I'm leaving abroad with my girlfriend and we recently had a little baby boy. Both our families came to visit us at different times, and so we needed an extra bed, big enough for two. After reading several reviews, we decided to buy this bed. Absolutely no regrets, as the bed works great and everybody praised if for being very comfortable. It fills up quickly enough and it stays firm for 3/4 nights with no need to re-pump it.One thing to consider though: it has an extra hole to allow air to be released quicker, be sure to seal it before you start pumping (otherwise you'll be wasting your efforts, as I did at first).

I took it to a five day festival and had the best recovering sleep ever. Although sleeping with my partner I did not bounce around as expected when he moved. We had to inflate it everyday to top up the firmness of the mattress (it got very hot in the tent so fair enough...) but that's just a minor one-minute-really- worth-it effort...We inflated it straight after unpacking it, took a few minutes to sort out how to pump it up but once the trick found it took less than 15 mins to inflate. So basically great product, and would recommend for the occasional use. :)

I've just returned from a week's camping, sleeping on this very airbed, and I am pleased to report that I was very happy with it -- it was comfortable and good value for money. The built-in pump is easy to use (even my 12 year old could do it) and the bed was comfortable to sleep on. The flock covering stopped the sheet sliding off, which was welcomed. We needed to pump more air in every couple of days, but this took only a few minutes and wasn't a bother. We all slept well -- which was a big relief as it increases the chances of my husband camping again!

I agree with the other reviews, this is a great product for the price. It inflated quickly once I fiddled out how it worked. Basically there's a black inlet valve that you screw on to the side of the bed, you then remove the white rubber cover from the integral pump inlet and start pumping...surprisingly it then inflates with very little effort. You then put the white bung back on and screw the other screw cap on top of that. It seems very low tech as there seems to be nothing to stop the air escaping again, but it does indeed seem to work very well.

This mattress arrived in good time etc and is a good quality, tough mattress. The self-inflating pump however seems a bit of a useless addition and we ended up inflating it with our mouth! Even this didn't take too long though and the mattress holds the air pretty well. Throughout the holls we did give it a couple more puffs but on the whole it was a comfortable mattress and 2 fairly large people (10st and 17st!) slept very well. The second time we used it we borrowed a Kayak pump (about 12 quid) and we inflated it in 3 minutes...may well invest!

I've owned several airbeds now and this has been the best. I've had it for 2 years and it's been to 4 festivals. It inflates in about 15 minutes and amazingly lasts 2 weekends for 2 adults, without having to reinflate it. When I say weekend I mean between 4 and 6 nights, which I think is amazing. So far it's been very reliable and I'm pleased with it after so many inferior experiences. It's comfy too. I've never paid more for an air bed, so I can't comment on more expensive models, but I would recommend this one for the price.
