I spent the best part of 2 hours trying to get this to work, without success. I emailed Geemarc and they rang me.There are two ways to set this up, the one in the instructions and one that isn't. The second way is: Switch off the Amplicall, unplug your phone at the BT wall socket and plug in an ADSL filter, then connect the supplied RJ11 cable from the left hand socket on the Amplicall, to the RJ11 socket of an ADSL broadband filter. Then connect the BT cable (already connected to your phone) to the BT socket on the ADSL filter. Switch the Amplicall on and all should work. Apart from this, the device is brilliant!

The descriptions weren't really clear, in particular I note that this does not ship with a mains adapter (it can use one, or take batterings), and that it must be plugged into a telephone wall socket. Once you've done both of these, it's fabulously loud and I think our days of late-night mercy dashes to a beloved elderly relative are at an end!The product didn't work at all following the instruction booklet, the customer support suggested using a DSL microfilter (that you would normally use to split phone and internet), even though there's no internet service in the house. Using this, everything worked perfectly!

Arrived promptly. Once fitted it immediately solved the problem of deaf mother not hearing the phone ringing. It is now loud and clear for her and we no longer panic because no one can get an answer! What they don't tell you is it comes with an RJ11 lead so you also need an RJ11 to BT socket adapter. It would also be better if it came with the optional mains power supply as standard because old people forget to change the batteries and because they are deaf they don't hear the phone ring when the batteries have gone flat. Panic stations then as everyone assumes the worst when the phone is not answered!

I purchased this for my grandad as he decided to use headphones for his TV so he could hear it better. This however meant that he could not hear the phone when it rang. Therefore we ordered this to put in front of his TV. The only thing I would say is that you may need a longer phone lead I ordered a 10 Meter RJ11 to RJ11 cable to run from where the phone socket is to where we wanted it located directly in front of the TV.

Great bit of kit, this is a godsend to help my relative who registered deaf and blind. She can actually hear the phone ring now with out her hearing aid in! (we are talking about someone who is as deaf as a post) Worth every penny. Minor issue was the connection, however, reading the advice on line on how to sort the problem out was straight forward. Device easy to connect and I was delighted with the product.

Simply brilliant. My mother is hard of hearing. This is VERY loud, and even she jumped at the clear ring when it rang - the first time she heard it. Now I am 120+ miles away and for the first time in months she picks up the phone. I have another one of these that, when we have sorted the rest of her phones out in January, it can be fitted in a different room. Delighted with them. Thank you.

Loud, easy to set up. Bought for my father who had started to miss phone calls. This should do the trick, and the addition of a flashing light should also attract his attention. Two negative points; the mount of the unit in the supplied cradle is not very secure, and the mains adapter is not included, which I had missed in the description, or wasn't made clear

After struggling to hear the phone for some time now I searched for the answer and I must admit this is a an ideal solution. Delivery excellent but like other reviewers I must comment on the instruction leaflet which is not very clear but if I can suss it I,m sure most people can. Really pleased with it and feel it was worth every penny, never miss a call now.

Pros:Very LoudCompactTakes Batteries OR Power AdapterConsDid not work when I followed the setup diagram in the manual.Quick phone call to Geemarc Uk gave an alternative set up which worked.Advised by Geemarc Uk not to use batteries and power adapter at the same time. This was not clear in the manual.

Does what it is supposed to .Easy to install and is very loud with a strobe that flashes when it rings which is hard to miss.Don't expect too much from the little cradle that it sits in. It is easily knocked off, however the unit will sit quite happily on its side and works as it should.Recommended!

Not compatible with all phones, so I found out. Geemarc were very helpful. Bought for my deaf father, but is so loud I nearly dropped my coffee when the phone rang and that is when I was phoning and testing it! There is a volume control and a variety of stroble light and ringer combinations.

A really good product that has allowed us to speak to my 91 year old father by phone. Before installing this dad would only be able to hear the phone ring 10% of the time. Now we have a 100% hit rate which is a big relief and saves some late evening dashes over to confirm he is ok.

Great stuff for a profoundly deaf 83 year old who was always moaning his phone was broken as he couldn't hear it. The installation was tricky and took a number of configuration changes before it worked. Apart from that a very happy dad!

Bought this for my mum who struggles to hear the phone. It's loud and the flash is powerful. Mounting options are limited so we've actually ended up with it hanging but it's wire connections. Looks a bit odd but works perfectly.

Some reviewers have misunderstood the connectivity. It comes with RJ11 sockets so you need a RJ11 to BT431A adapter in order to connect the output to a phone. Boy does it grab your attention if you use the flash facility!
