I was more than happy to accept this item for review, but I didn't expect it to be this good! The cream band and the and Rose colour of the watch look attractive, okay it’s a large face, but it is not obtrusive, and believe me, Mrs C does not like obtrusive!Beautiful colour and lightweight, the time always visible without touching anything and it is very clear. The straps are easily interchangeable with a range to suite most tastes too!A drawback I have heard with so many 'Smart watches' is a short battery charge life, yet over the fortnight we have had this for review, it has been charged three times and it wasn't reporting a low level of charge,it just seemed prudent and it was convenient to do so.Turning on and setting up is an easy operation not requiring an in-depth knowledge of Techy stuff. The watch should be connected to a smart phone via the Garmin Connect app, here I will admit to a little frustration finding the correct watch – there are a few! But it does very soon become apparent, then just ‘Add Device’ and follow the on-screen instructions, the watch pairs in an automatic fashion with the smartphone of your choice, ours being iPhone.Using the watch is very easy, and a few choices are available.A wrist gesture - being a twist away or toward the body, turns the screen off and on - I am quite glad my wife is wearing the watch as I have always worn mine with the face on the inside of my wrist which of course is the reverse of that which is required.A swipe of the screen will unlock and swiping the touchscreen will scroll through menus and the available options or 'widgets'.Hold, is used when the watch is unlocked and will open the menu and of course the ever-ubiquitous tap will make selections. I like that it appears to have a sense of humour too, it told Mrs C to "Stand Still" while it took a measurement when she was wriggling about whilst checking her oxygen stats! All the usual suspects are available to the wearer, including Blood Oxygen, heart rate, steps, stairs, Hydration tracking, Stress levels, timers for everything and even menstrual cycle tracking, the music control will allow the wearer of the 3/3S device to start playing music on a smart phone. And notifications from the smartphone can be viewed, the most recent being in the centre of the screen. GPS Activity and Sleep Tracking information are also available. The data may be synced to a computer after installing the 'Garmin Express' application. To get the full, and therefore the best results from using the watch, I would encourage a purchaser to download and digest the comprehensive manual on the Garmin site, it’s under manuals / vivomove3. It can also be downloaded prior to purchase to see exactly what it is being bought for a healthily discounted price from Amazon of £179 down from £220!I was encouraged by the frugal packaging Garmin have used. Except for a small piece of sponge, there was no unnecessary plastic and the box was not oversized. I commend Garmin for this and for a beautiful, practical and very useable piece of Technology.Easy - a very very easy Five Stars.

I have been using Fitbits for a few years now, so when I saw the Garmin Vivomove 3S Hybrid Smartwatch available I couldn't resist giving it a go to compare the two. To make it easier to read, I will list what I think the positives and negatives are of this watch.-Positives-* It looks like a traditional watch but has the features of a smartwatch that we now find it hard to live without* The watch hands tell the time even when the battery is low* It has a digital display that appears when the screen is tapped* The watch tracks a number of things such as sleep, steps, flights of stairs, energy levels, stress levels, oxygen level, hydration levels and heart rate (there’s also the ability to track a menstrual cycle)* When setting a step goal, the watch analyses the number of steps you normally do, and changes your goal accordingly* You can have notifications sent to your phone through Bluetooth* Pink, rose gold and white are a great colour combination, and I had a compliments immediately on the watch* Even though only one strap is provided, the watch strap can fit a number of different wrist sizes* When the watch realises you’re feeling stressed, it offers timed breathing exercises* The watch measures SpO2%, which is a premium paid service on Fitbit-Negatives-* I found the battery life to be a disappointment. I am used to having 5-7 days of battery life, so having to charge the watch every 2-3 days was a bit annoying, especially when I barely used the Bluetooth* You’re unable to toggle the type of notifications sent to the watch, its either all or nothing, and to be honest I didn’t really want my junk mail pushed to my phone as a notification* The watch is heavier than other fitness trackers* The stress level measuring was a bit hit and miss, there are more times than most when the watch couldn’t measure my levels as I was too “active” and I ended up taking no notice of it* The Garmin Connect app isn’t as fun to use as the Fitbit app* I found the raise to wake action wasn’t as responsive as I would have liked and I often had to physically tap on the screen for the digital screen to workOverall, I’ve enjoyed using the Garmin Vivomove Smartwatch and it will be hard to go back to a Fitbit, especially when I get so many compliments about it. It would make a great present for Christmas this year, although its worth keeping an eye out for a deal as it can be out of budget at full price. I have tried to include pictures in my review as I know they're helpful, although it seems my camera didn't like the digital display! I hope you found my thoughts helpful :o)

LikesAppearance - the watch looks like a high end analogue watch - I have the silver version with the Milanese strap which is simply gorgeous. The display radiates beautiful reflective lines in certain light conditionsBuild quality - extremely high - stainless steel and sapphire crystal glass. Reassuringly weighty.Digital screens - these are normally completely invisible but come to life almost as if by magic with a tap of the hand and/or raise to wake (but see later under dislikes)Features - lots of them and the menus can be accessed quite easily through taps and swipes thought there is a fairly steep learning curve. There are too many to list but all the usual tracking and exercise features are present and correctInteractive hands - the way the hands operate depending on which smart features are being employed is extraordinary. One example, if you are operating the countdown timer the analogue hands move round the watch face, even if the digital display then goes to sleep. They also show the battery percentage when you check thatConnected GPS - works very well (but see under dislikes)Connectivity is rock solid so far (with Pixel 3a phone)The Garmin app - great if like me you are a data fiendDislikesSleep tracking is rubbish though that is the same on all Garmin devices, so it's not really a complaint against this particular watch. It basically does little more than give you an estimate of how long you remain in bed and if you are just lying awake it records it as sleep. Fitbit devices do this sort of thing far better.Expensive - though you are getting a very high quality watch with tons of smart featuresScreen activation - can be a bit hit and miss. That said, after a while you tend to get the knack better, so this will probably cease to be a dislike eventually. No GPS - not too much of an issue if you take your smartphone with you, as the connected GPS works really well. It might be a problem if you are a runner but I'm not, so not too bothered.Music controls - don't seem to work that well and doesn't seem to be any way of controlling volume.Limited range of available activities, though the main ones are covered. Can't add any other activities to the available listNot too sureBattery life - I'd say it should last about four days on a charge and it charges up pretty quickly, so acceptable. I haven't had the watch too long so may need to update this aspect.ConclusionA very fine hybrid smartwatch. If sleep tracking were better it would get five stars from me.

I recently got the Garmin Venu (which is pretty cool and does way more than I actually need) and my partner seemed to like it so I thought this would be perfect for her.It comes nicely boxed and is simple to get out and set up. You get a bespoke charging cable (so don't lose it!!) that connects to any USB device and an instruction booklet. The watch is extremely attractive and feminine without being overtly dainty. The ever-popular rose gold face looks stunning. The white strap might be a matter of taste, but this could easily be swapped out (there is even a quick release button on the strap to allow this). Personally,I think the white compliments the watch face nicely. To get it up and running you'll need to charge the watch and then download the Garmin Connect app to your phone and connect by bluetooth. This is extremely easy and only takes a mattter of minutes to do.The main deciding factor on buying this will be down to how much stock is put in being able to change watch faces. For me, that's an absolute must and the best part of a smartphone. I suspect that, for most ladies, this will be less of a priority (boys and toys and so on) but do bear that in mind.As I say, the watch face is lovely as it is and has physical, analogue hands and so works like a regular watch in that regard. The notification will appear underneath the hands or be activated when the face is double tapped. If your main use is to monitor steps and heart rate then this will do both and much more besides. You can even see, using the phone app, how stressed you have been and when during your day!The display is nice and bright but you may find yourself squinting a little in the sunlight when trying to read it.Battery life seems good, I would say 3-4 days seems right before charging (which doesn't take very long at all).Overall, I think this is one of the the classiest looking smartwatches I've seen and appears to do just about every (practical) thing you could want it to.

A good Garmin product, looks nice, looks robust but I returned it because it was a bit to big for my wrist, 44mm means 44mm, this is quite a big watch, so I re-ordered it in 42mm, hope this helps!Update: This watch has been pretty unreliable, it doesn't count floors and it is very inaccurate when it comes to step counting, I have a very accurate pedometer, it read 7552 the Garmin watch read 11455 for the same period. I contacted Garmin for support and this is what I got:If issue persists after you've done above, the device will need to be replaced. As it was only purchased in March, we advise to take it back to the retailer first - if for whatever reason they're not replacing it,please see our process below:I'm afraid it looks like we will need to book your Garmin device in for a replacement. So, where to begin. Lets talk about Garmin. They make some fantastic kit and rae the go to for running watches etc and serious fitness. So where does this fit in? Well, it for those who want a beautiful looking modern watch with some subtle smart features.SO it comes well presented and the watch is well made and finished in a colour scheme immediately appealing. One thing off the bat, it uses its own proprietary charging connection which is a shame. Moving on though the build quality is superb. There's a heart rate sensor round the back and a full charge was done in no time.In order to use this you need to download Garmin connect.I've used this before and whilst it offers a greta dela of information and customisation this can be overwhelming to the more casual user this watch is aimed at. I also think the whole app could use a design refresh.Setup was , however, straight forward.Once setup the hands adjusted themselves (nice) and I was away. The smart screen can be customised in a number of ways. Raising your wrist wakes it and it will vibrat also to alert you.I really like the subtle integration of smart features and classic styling and it works well. The app serves to access all the metrics you need beyond the screen and it integrates with Apple Health if you have an iphone. All in all a functional yet stylish alternative

I’ve been using this watch for a few months now so feel I can give a decent overview. It’s very light which feels a bit ‘wrong’ to start off with but has been damage free so far. I’m quite tough on watches as I’m right handed and wear my watch on my right wrist. Most of my watches have been scratched or damaged due to this but this one has survived well so far. I bought this to stay within the Garmin ecosystem. I already use Garmin bike computers, lights and radar so it seemed sensible to just have one app to look after all my fitness stats. The app itself is very good and tells you everything you need to know. Only 2 negatives for app and watch:1. App has nowhere to add blood pressure.Very odd as most other health/fitness related stats can be added.2. Bluetooth connectivity of app and watch is unreliable at best. The watch shows as connected to my phone but then does not sync with app. Work around a include turning off bluetooth on phone and app and re starting or going into the pair phone menu on the watch. Bit frustrating but I can put up with it due to all the good points. The watch is also almost a dark brown rather than black/grey. I quite like it but others may not!!

The first thing to note about the Garmin Vivomove 3S is how nice the watch looks, from the soft strap to the shiny rose gold face it is definitely one of the slicker looking smart watches available. One charge of the watch will last more than a day which is the minimum I personally expect from a smart watch, the 3S has lasted up to two days easily.Vivomove have an app you can download to sync your data from watch to phone, the app is very easy to navigate and overall the setup of the watch was much faster than expected. The 3S records your steps, calories, heart rate and you can read messages/control your music from it.These features all use a digital screen which triggers a very smooth mechanic where the watch hands automatically move out of the way so you can use the touchscreen, the hands then reset after you've finished using the watch and this is personally one of my favourite features. The watch comes with a bit of a pricetag however after wearing it for just a few days it's easy to justify the price, overall a very good watch with no features to miss.

I wanted a watch that didn’t look like your standard smart watch/fitness watch so this ticked the boxes. In terms of functionality it’s a bit hit or miss. The floor count is way off. I’ve spent the day running up and down the stairs doing housework and it’s only counted 1 flight. Other days it tells me I’ve got 16 by the time I reach work despite most of the morning being sat on a train. The sleep tracker and heart rate monitor have proved useful and it’s helped me see where I need to adjust my schedule.Like others, it has a tendency to cause irritation on my wrist and it needs regularly cleaned or the strap starts to smell. Also as the watch body doesn’t match the bevel, but instead matches the strap,it’s not really good aesthetic wise to buy a different strap. Battery life isn’t great but it charges in around half an hour so can’t really complain. For just a casual watch for those wanting to monitor their daily activity this is great and I’d recommend. For those wanting more accurate tracking info I’d suggest doing more research in to other watches.

I went from the Fitbit Charge 2 to this after much consideration and I am so happy that I did.Comparing the two, I would say that:Advantages:+So much better looking!!!! Really does look lovely, has to be the most attractive smart watch I've seen.+Garmin app has loads more stats and details, great if you're a bit of a data nerd like me+Activity tracking including steps I believe is more accurate than Fitbit+Can also go for swims in it which feels so weird but it tracks distance etc. in it+You can also input your fitness/gym plan which I haven't done yet but is very cool!Disadvantages:-Sleep tracking is much more accurate on the Fitbit but Garmin does give an indication-The app may be a bit toocomplex/detailed for some people plus the device is a bit confusing to set up at first-The app doesn't always sync easily to the app but isn't major concern-A bit more difficult to swap the bandsOverall would hugely recommend this!!

This is such a good watch. It looks fantastic, and is a good size for smaller wrists. The strap is comfortable and the display is really clear and easy to use too - I love the way that the traditional watch hands move out of the way when you are wanting to check the smart features, such as texts or steps. Pleasingly the app syncs seamlessly and in over 2 months' wear never had I had an issue with it syncing or crashing - not the case with my fitbit that this replaced. It's a plus that the battery easily lasts a couple of days without me having to even worry. I have found that it is worth adding a screen protector to this watch - so far doing so has kept my watch in great condition. From the design to the way it works I love everything about this watch. It's a great item for wearing as "just" a watch but also fantastic for use in training and when I'm going about my normal life. Highly recommend it.

I was sceptical at first, but I love the different visual appearance to this watch from any other smart watch. It’s glam, looks like a normal watch, then changes at a tap to show you what you need. I love the Body battery analysis, as well as the sleep. I’ve had it for 4 days and I’ve had to charge it for about 15 minutes if that and it’s still practically full. I only pop it on charge while showering. Has auto features to pick up activity without you having start it manually. The rubber strap allows for getting sweaty and being cleaned, yet they’re changeable so I have ordered a couple of others to give me a change when I fancy it. I spent a lot of time going through reviews and YouTube videos to work out what I wanted,so glad I chose this!!I get messages and call alerts, I can’t answer from the phone which isn’t a problem for me, but Happy with how much it has to offer!

This is a very sleek looking watch and the strap is comfortable and secure. The watch pairs with your phone via the Garmin app to allow for the smart functions to occur. You can chose which features/notifications you have displaying on the phone. When a message comes through, the hands move to the 3:15 position so that they don't obstruct the text -very cool! The watch is capable of recording steps, heart rate and oxygen levels, amongst other things. The phone holds charge for several days and when it gets low it reverts to watch only mode so that you are not left with a useless bracelet. The really good features, for me, are knowing when text messages and calls are being received.Overall i really like this and think that the balance of features is just right.

Have been using this for over a month now and I can't find a flaw at all. I use the oxygen saturation and breathing monitor throughout the night as I suffer from asthma and broken sleep and even so, the battery lasts me almost a week from a full charge. I don't use it for notifications except breaking news from BBC so if you do, that may drain the battery more. I wanted a watch for heart rate, sleep and activity rather than to use along with my phone for messages, emails etc. It performs every function brilliantly and the app is really useful with some great visuals.Best of all is the beautiful design, it looks like a normal watch which is what I wanted.

This is a beautiful looking smart watch and is great for day to day wear. It keeps track of steps and heart rate and can record activities such as yoga. This watch doesn’t work off it’s own GPS tracking for running or walking and requires a phone gps signal. It still works fine by connecting to the phone but I would say the Garmin vivoactive 3Is better for recording runs and walks. I have both of these watches now and I have found the vivomove a great smart watch for day time at work etc and the vivoactive better for recording sport activities.
