I've been using this for about a month now so thought I'd come and review it. Overall I am really happy with it. There are one or two things that aren't perfect or are a bit annoying but it's not the end of the world and I've just come to the conclusion that I am probably going to have to buy a strap for it as well. For the most part it does read your HR quite well from the wrist when out running, although I suspect there is a bit of a delay before it catches up to what your HR really is. It's not so good at reading HR when in the gym and just doing basic cardio, whether it's walking on the treadmill, doing weights or going on the cross trainer which can be a bit frustrating. However, because the watch is so good at making me actually push myself when needed rather than just taking it easy and being "unproductive" I think it is actually going to be worth me paying out for the strap so that I have my true stats. I really feel like I'd be lost without this watch now. When using the Strength widget, it should count your reps - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. So far it seems to not count them more than it does and you then have to manually add the weight and the exercise on the app or website. It's a great time saving feature when it works, but a bit of an inconvenience when it doesn't.When running outdoors, in built up / residential areas it can take about 30 seconds before it gets GPS but at the beach, or out hiking it picks up immediately. Other little niggles are that it doesn't always record when I'm going up the stairs and seems to lose connection in the night, every now and again. I am nit-picking quite a bit though. I guess because it's so expensive I expect it to be perfect. It almost is, as I say it is literally just one or two niggles but probably nothing someone seriously into their sports will be too bothered about. To be honest, I'm surprised I've become so taken with the daily activity tracking. Initially I was only looking for something to track my activities more accurately, give my lots of data to see how I'm progressing and not have to wear a chest strap. One feature I really like is the daily stress widget. It is so good! It can really tell when you're stressed out and I find it shows up in my sleep, my resting HR and so on and it makes me actively try to relax and not be stressed out or anxious. I like the fact that once you go into the widget there is a little relax timer where you can do some breathing exercises with the watch as guidance.I've had a few problems with the phone and watch being paired up one minute and not the next, and even though they have been right next to each other the watch would not sync at all and I've had to faff about uninstalling and then re-installing the app on my phone before I could get it to work but I don't know why it does this.Hopefully I've given a decent overview of the good and the bad points. I have put in a few negatives but overall the watch is excellent, it will last me a long time and as I say I'd be lost without it now. It is highly customisable, and in the main, when it comes to activities and sports it does what it says. I've only been out running, hiking and to the gym with it for cardio and weights. I'm yet to get out on my bike as I don't tend to at this time of year but I'm sure it will work just as well. The battery life is excellent. It came with quite a lot of charge in it and I have only had to fully charge it once since I've had it - the last time being over a week ago. I either go out running or to the gym around 5 times a week (so a mix of GPS and non-GPS activity) and still have 20% battery left which I'm sure will probably last me until Monday. Very pleased with my purchase overall.

I decided to wait until I had a couple of months use before writing a review, so after numerous runs, swims, rides, a couple of duathlons and a triathlon, here goes.First and fore most, it is a great watch. It's comfortable and light. The strap is adjustable for virtually any size wrist. The thing I really appreciate is that the main, configurable screen is always readable without having to make the exaggerated flick of the wrist that some sport watches need to bring up the time on the watch face. It does not have a sapphire watch face, but a small extra spend on an aftermarket screen protector means I never have to remove it, other than to charge it.I checked the heart rate monitor against a medically calibrated monitor with good agreement. Battery life is impressive. I have been out on long rides (several hours) using GPS, and still not had to recharge the watch more often than every two or three days.Set-up and synchronisation: The watch was easy to set up out of the box. It does need to be connected to a computer (PC or Mac) to start the set-up, but thereafter all updates and synchronisation are via wifi or phone sync. The watch syncs easily with my android pone (Huawei P Smart) and syncs accurately with Strava, including loading strava segments on to the watch. I receive texts, calendar reminders and facebook messenger on the watch. i could also receive email but chose to turn this off. The watch can be configured not to alert for messages during the night.Pool Swimming: Like most watches, the heart rate sensor is disabled during swimming - a chest strap is required to monitor heart rate in the water. The watch counts my lengths accurately most of the time, but occasionally adds a length if I start to push off then stop to wait for another swimmer. This is inevitable when relying on an accelerometer and works better than any other watch I have tried while swimming. The lap function makes it simple to record times for successive sets. I have not yet tried open water swimming with the watch.Cycling: A searate kit is available to mount the watch on the bike, but I find it perfectly useable on my wrist, also giving me heart rate data as I cycle. GPS Acquisition is very quick (a few seconds). Routes can be loaded for navigation and warnings issued when nearing Strava segments. The Garmin Connect analytics are pretty good and my training has imporved since starting to use the watch.Running and steps: I decided not to but the running dynamics pod, as I am not a keen runne, but the watch works well and I find it nice not to have to carry a phone when I run. I don't like to listen to music when running, so the fact that the watch has no music capacity is not an issue for me. The watch also works well for walking and general step counting, without adding steps while riding, swimming, driving or other activities that have added false steps on other watches.Multi-sport use: this is where the 935 really comes into its own. Any combination of multisports can be set up. I have used it for duathlons, brick runs and one pool-based triathlon. Once configured, the watch needs only a single button push when going from activity to transition and another when coming out of transition. My only issue to date was the pool swim on my triathlon recorded perfectly into Garmin Connect, but the swim data was corrupted into Strava. There is much more I still have to try, such as settingup gym workouts, but so far so good. Highly recommended.

I have owned my 935 for a little over two weeks having obtained it to replace a 920xt that stopped working. I thought the 920xt was the ultimate training GPS - I was wrong - the 935 beats it in every way. If you need it the 935 can do it and it does Golf stuff too (although I have never tried this I do not do golf). The battery life is great, the strap super comfortable and against my expectations the wrist based HRM works well and is accurate. Pairs seamlessly with a Garmin HRM chest strap and cadence sensor. The watch is 47mm in diameter but does not look out of place on my slim wrists. Importantly to me the display is large and bright and the available widgets/watch faces from Garmin both useful and fun.It pairs with your smart phone and can give updates like emails and texts if you are into that sort of thing. It is worth every penny of its admittedly high price. If you are into training and multisports and treat your self to one thing this year make it this - you wont regret it.

Im quite happy with this watch even though it is very expensive.I upgraded from the Garmin Fenix 2 which was becoming really out of date, the FR935 is user friendly and pretty lightweight.Another plus side is that the battery life is very good especially if you are into endurance racing/activities.I've been using my old garmin chest heart rate monitor when on the road bike as a review on another site said that there may be connectivity issues with the wrist HRM due to road turbulence but I still have to test this out.As with my fenix 2 I feel that there are still discrepancies with pool swimming, it uses an accelerometer to gauge when you push off from one end of the pool,if you dont push off hard enough it may not pick up on this. You may want to get the garmin running pod for additional metrics such as vertical oscillation. All in all I like this product (apart from the price)

This replaced a Forerunner 735 that had become a little unreliable due to old age, it's the third Garmin I have had over the years.Where the 735 looks like sports equipment, this 935 can pass at first glance as some sort of smartwatch, it looks slightly larger (a good thing for me) and the strap is more comfortable. The display area is the same size as the 735, the surround is a little bit wider. The numbers and images displayed are sharper and all-in-all it feels and looks like a better quality product; it should do since it's nearly twice the price but in my opinion it's worth it - I'm more likely to wear it all day.Set up and synchronisation were easy, but I already had Garmin Connect installed for the previous product so that is probably not a fair comment.Battery life is great, a few days' use took it down to 75% and it recharged to 100% in just a few minutes.

Before my purchase I had researched and researched and despite this watch being a tad on the expensive side, it is absolutely worth every penny. For someone who dabbles in triathlon and enjoys all kinds of fitness I find it accurate, covers literally any sport and if you are interested in all the data gives you everything you could wish for. It's comfortable to wear and for a woman of a 'smaller build' sits well on my wrist. I was concerned that it would look large and cumbersome but doesn't. It would suit male or female. The battery lasts a good time too. I cannot recommend this watch enough. If there were any downside,it doesn't record the type of stroke whilst swimming like the Apple but despite all my efforts in butterfly I can live with that!

For those runners who thrive on data, a Garmin is a must. There’s probably more data here than you need, but I love spending hours analysing heart rate and cadence and pace after a ParkRun. There’s even a metronome for spm. Comfortable to wear but day to day I go back to the Apple Watch. But this knocks that out of the park on running days.

Epic! Really light and comfortable. Optical HR and health monitoring. Smartphone connectivity, course mapping. Downloadable apps, great battery life. The list just goes on, what more can you want from a tri watch. I've used the 405, 910, 920 and questioned how much better this could be now. Love it :D
