3/10.A bit disappointed as 1. expected it to be a bit bigger, ie ‘giant’ 2. ‘Cover’ is a useless rip off 3. Ground sheet could be bigger 4. Takes too long/ complicated to assemble 5. When I look @ assembled product I don’t feel it’s value for money, ie should’ve been cheaper for what it is.Plus points. 1. Came in 1 easy to move box 2. All parts intact/ nothing missing 3. No need to drill screws in. Wood soft enough to screw drive screws in. 4. End result/ wood part looks and feels intact if handled with care.Arrived on time in one slim box. Managed to assemble with my 11 year old. Took us just over 3 hours. Had to keep figuring out which way around the slots aligned/ planks faced. In the end we found the instructions useless and just used common sense. Most of time my 11 year old would pointed out errors by looking at the photo of end of end product and so we ended up having to disassemble and reassembling/ realigning the planks.Once we had got the frame assembled it was straight forward to just screw in screws with screw driver to secure. Then the ground mat disappointment as it is very small, ie made to fit exactly, so ended up with 2 ends of the pit short of mat. Ground mat should be bigger ? Spent unnecessary time trying to keep tugging/ jostling it into place to secure to try and fit.Biggest disappointment was the ‘cover’. Again too small & useless! Thick material but Doesn’t cover entire pit at all, can’t understand why it’s even there?Have not yet filled with sand as I’ve had to pay again for another proper cover and bigger ground sheet from another company, which are arriving soon.End sandpit is okay, with seats to sit on and looks smart, but I think it’s too pricy, a nightmare to assemble and the cover and ground sheet a joke. Also not as ‘giant’ as I thought. Doesn’t look big enough to be called ‘giant’.

I spent a long time researching the ideal sand pit for my son and daughter who are very tall for their ages 8 and 3 respectively. This one seemed the most ideal because it could easily accommodate 4 or more children. It appeared to be easier than most to assemble and was attractive ! Plus it's price is very fair I think. The lid was and is it's only drawback but I took another reviewer's advice and purchased suitable bungee straps which aren't cheap though, to cross over the top for extra security. The lid does have elastic straps that go over each seat corner which I hadn't known about and was very relieved to find. So as lids go this is better than most from what I've read. The bungees work a treat and if you put something taller in the middle under the lid, then at least the rain water doesn't collect there ! But because the lid isn't on the generous side it really is a tight fit. Water does collect else where which results in pulling the lid away from the edges and many of the corners of the seats being exposed but all in all it works well. We've had some awful winds too and it's stayed on, plus our neighbour's cat hasn't got in side THANK GOODNESS !. It took me over two hours to assemble which was very annoying (!) and a lot longer than it should have taken. If I hadn't made any mistakes and had had some help, it would have been done in 30 to 60 minutes ! I put 20 x 15kg bags of play sand in it, which is more than is recommended but it seemed to need that much ! But I think that's made the walls expand a little more than it's meant too which is no doubt why the lid is slightly too tight ? The sand was another 60 quid ! All in all I'm very pleased with it and my kids and all their friends love it too ! I'd definitely recommend it.

Kids love the sandpit. Good quality wood sides and easy to put together. Predrilled holes which mostly were fine - one or two pieces didn't line up with others and I had to improvise which was a shame. The sandpit base is a sheet that when fitting, needs another person to help stretch it out and hold in place whilst you screw provided wood to hold the base in place. It's a bit fiddly. The main disappointment with the sandpit is the tarpaulin cover. It's awful. It's barely big enough, has a drawstring but doesn't really work, and because it doesn't fit properly it will blow away in the slightest wind. I have to put objects on it to hold it down and stretch it out which defeats the whole purpose. But because the sandpit is octagonal, it's not easy to find one that will do the job more effectively.TL,DR - good sandpit, easy to put together, fiddly base needs another helper, cover is really bad

the sandpit is a great size for a group, as others have said it is a nice sandpit, it needs lots of sand (i used 135 kg and want to put more in) unfortunately as this was a return (and so cheaper,) it came with no screws. The cover is not great but we will put some wood underneath to prop it up. Not sure how long it will last, but I am pleased with the good bits so far. Hope to get some refund for the lack of screws and trouble it took to replace them in time for an event we needed the sand pit for. The base is not solid, which is ok for me as our last sand pit rotted at the bottom after getting wet.I might add some extra fence protection to see if we can make it more durable and prevent rot.

Wonderful large sandpit, easily fit 4 children inside along with play items. Well made and arrived on time. My only problem with the sandpit is that the black ground cover could have been slightly larger in diameter to make fitting it that bit easier.Love that it has 4 seats as well for the children to sit on.Please excuse the boxes in the picture, they’re from the sand delivery. With 10x 10kg bags of sand the bottom of the sandpit is covered and there is enough sand to play with. If you want it deep then get 15 to 20 bags. I’m going to get a few more 10kg bags myself.Very happy with this sandpit.

Bought for my 2 year old, but had to be big enough to share with his 7 year old sister and it is. We have had this since May and my son has used nearly everyday.Very easy to assemble once you take 5 to look at the instructions and separate the wooden lengths into piles etc it really does just slot into place then screwed to make rigid. The cover is good, with elastic to hold it around the corners, only down side is rain sits in the middle of it so we pile the toys to create a tipi effect to stop this, I'm sure it would happen with any sandpit and cover.Overall a great product.

This is an excellent sand pit. It is big, I bought it for an 8 yr old and she has plenty of room. Needs a lot of sand so buy at least 10 bags, more would be better! We have moved house taken it apart and rebuilt it and still as sturdy and looking good as it was new. Only down side, cover isn’t well designed as it has a draw string which is really fiddly and you need bricks to secure it really, elastic would have been better. Also the lining wasn’t big enough so had to patch in a bit of a shower curtain to cover a corner. Hopefully they have rectified these niggles now.

We got this sandpit for our granddaughters for Easter as they had outgrown their old Turtle one.It is a great size and will last them years, and it was not as difficult to put together as others had stated. However it did take twelve 15kg bags of play sand to fill it,which is £2.99 a bag from Argos,so not to bad, as i have seen the same sand a lot higher price. The only bad comment i could say is the lid needs improving,But i would still rate it five star.

Bought for my grandchildren twins. Happy with sandpit ordered sand with it which didn’t arrive with it. Unfortunately before it could be used a couple of days after it was constructed storm Hannah lifted it into the air and hurled it through the garden and the wood split and is too risky to be used with the little twins.... really disappointing as spent a long time saving and waiting for it.

This is a great sandpit for the money. You can get ones this size from school websites but they start at £450! We have had this for 4 years now and have never treated the wood. The cover lasted about 6 months. Rain pools in it and when we put an up turned bucket underneath in the centre, the weigh of the water ripped it. You can make a fairly good cover with some MDF.

Really good and a good size for a few children to play in at once. Not difficult to construct but did have a problem with one of the battens fixing the base as the screw wouldn't bite - just had to relocate the holes. As with all these the cover being a tarpaulin effectively, it does collect water, however it does stop on to keep the cats etc at bay.

It is big enough for 7 and 8 year old both in at the same time. Plenty of room. Takes a bit of setting up depending on whether you have a base to put it on or you need to prepare one. Once set up it has been used constantly. We have used builders sand which is fine, as play sand either very expensive or not available just now.

Brilliant size well made very sturdy the cover isn't very good wind keeps blowing it of had to use bricks to keep it on still pleased I bought it the grandchildren love it they haven't stopped playing in it since we got it. Sand expensive to fill I shopped around and Tesco was the cheapest

Very nice. Good quality frame and nice wood. Ground sheet is small with not much excess to nail in the bottom so is fiddly to size . Also the cover is so small it becomes useless and we had to buy additional plastic over the top to secure it . Other than that the frame itself is great.

Good octagon sand pit, woods not particularly good quality but as expected for the price. Bought a 500kg bag of sand based on other reviews expecting to have about 100kg left however I think we only used 250 to 300 kg. Overall pretty good value for money and my 3 year old loves it.
