I can't give a five star review for two reasons (known issues before buying it):- It's a bit expensive, something "understandable" due to the 'exclusivity' of this quality camera.- As said on another review, the leather case wont fit with the hood or adaptor on place (this is too bad)This being said, I have to point out that the quality of this hood + adaptor is excelent! In the same moment the adapter is inserted on the lenses, it feels how accurate the mechanism is.I strongly recommend buying an UV 52 mm filter for lenses protection (Tiffen UV 52 mm filter is an excelent non-expensive choice, about £6). Also if you like using tripod on some ocassion,a neutral density filter is a great choice (Tiffen's one also does a great job).Using the adapter + hood will eventually reduce the camera carrying capabilities, but it is highly recommended for shooting great pictures, and protecting from the sun, and also protecting the lenses from scratches, dust etc. This does not mean the X10 does not hae enough capabilities for doing excelent shoots, but adding a hood and lenses can be a very important added value to this magnificent camera. You dont have to see this accessory just as an 'enthusiast' nor 'professional' photographer picture shooting accessory, but also as a great protection for the camera lenses, the most delicate, and one of the main parts (if not the most) of this camera.

A nice precision hood that is now more affordable since the price has dropped a lot since it was first released. It is far easier to fit than the hood on the Fuji X100 as it is just screwed straight onto the front of the lens with no bezel to remove first.I use it purely as a hood since I ditched all the boxes of filters I used to think essential, and don't find it a problem that it wont fit in the leather case as it is small and you can fit it into the pouch with a spare battery which just slips in a convenient pocket. It isn't vital as the lens has excellent coating, but for the those days when you have strong side lighting it obviously helps and also helps to deflect greasy fingers from the lens. The hood can intrude into the view of the optical finder, but just as in the far more expensive Leica hoods the slots help to minimise the problem. All in all much nicer than many fragile plastic hoods that cost as much.

I bought this with the Fuji X10 as one of the benefits of the camera for me was that you could attach filters (which you can't on most advanced point n shoots). This is quality kit - it is metal and solid and screws neatly onto the front of the camera. Once attached you can see it in the viewfinder but that is fairly standard for a rangefinder style camera and doesn't get in the way. Also if you buy the Fuji leather case for this camera you can't close it with this attachment on. So it is definitely an attach, use, detach scenario. However it works well and opens you up to 52mm standard filters (polarisers etc).Expensive but worth the money.

Very well made for a lens hood (metal not plastic) comes with a soft storage pouch and the hood works well on a bright sunny day reducing the possible glare that might effect the lens. It also offers extra protection for the lens and complements the style of the Fuji X100 camera. The only two issues with this lens hood are if you use the excellent optical viewfinder on the camera, the hood blocks some of the view so you may prefer to switch the camera's viewfinder to the digital display and if you use the genuine leather camera case you can not close the case with lens hood fitted.

Very happy with this lens hood. I knew before I bought it the pros and cons of this product but still bought it for the pros. Sure the lens cap will not fit on with the rim and filter attached so buy a 52mm clip on one for £3.00 , what's the problem?I can not understand people moaning about a product after buying it when with just a little research they can asses the product on line so easily. Anyway it is beautifully made, fits on like a charm and enhances and compliments what is already a charismatic and exciting camera.

It does the job, I can attach a polarized 52mm Hoya filter to the adapter ring afterremoving the lens hood. Note that the threads are a bit of a dust magnet. They quickly filled up with dust. There are questions I would like to know the answer:Why the lens hood has not been designed to receive 58mm filters? It is almost the same size. Why are there holes on the adapter ring?

The quality and colour match the camera perfectly, as you would expect. However, as many others have already said, you pay a premium for this. Still, when I'd paid so much for the camera, I didn't want to "spoil the ship for a 'hapeth of tar" Anyway, the dosh is spent now and the camera looks "Ace". Move on.

Can't compare to cheaper models, but it's the perfect accompaniment to the X100 or X100s. Obviously reduces chances of glare, but also importantly really finishes off the X100 camera in terms of it's feel and look.Packaging and build quality are first rate, no complaints.

One can guess why this accessory doesn't come as standard but it's an absolute must if the undoubted quality of the camera's fixed lens is to be maximised; a couple of wonderfully engineered pieces of metal and totally indispensible.

Perfect item. Previously bought a knock off copy. Binned it the same day. Although it did the same job it just didn't look right on my camera. Very happy to have the real (although pricey) thing.

If you own a X100 camera, this is an essential kit. Well built and with the same texture as the camera, the hood protects from flare, and the ring also allows you to use a 49mm filter.

Considered the cheaper option but then thought why buy cheap when I'd spent a lot on the camera.. very pleased with both items and the quality is obvious, colour match is spot on.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do: a filter ring and lens hood, combined or separate. Beware of cheap fakes adverised on the internet which are just one piece of metal.

Excellent piece of kit. Beautifully made. Only problem being is that the hood is redundant if you fit the 50mm (equiv) conversion lens.

I bought the JJC version first, it was a loose fit, I sent it back and got a prompt refund, I bought the Fuji version, no problem now.
