I spent my youth in Barbados, playing on the beach in the sun, swimming and diving for sand dollars. When I bought this bottle of rum it was meant to be for a friend celebrating his sixth birthday. He never got it as I decided to open it. I know I’m being long winded here trying to explain this rum, but when I took a sip of this glorious rum I went right back to the time I was in Barbados. It smells and tastes of Barbados, the sweet smell of crushed cane at the mills, the warm sea breeze and warm sand under my feet. This is one of the best Barbados rums I’ve ever tasted and now, now I want to go back.

I like rum, always have, and always will. I have tried a few in the Caribbean and been to the Mount Gay distillery in Barbados. This rum is one of the really good ones, and anything FourSquare is going to be good. For me personally, Barbados rum is the best. If you pay that little bit extra then you will taste the richness in flavour. A lot of rum, even some expensive ones, is flavoured and your not getting the real deal. This one is the real deal and will have a couple of bottles for Xmas.

If you're trying to find a rum which isn't _sweet_ this one would fit the bill.I wish I had tried this rum earlier as it is a very good example of what can be done with rum just by ageing.It's very/too easy to empty the bottle and suddenly puts in perspective what can be expected for a quality rum at this price point.Hats off the the guys at the Foursquare distillery.

As with all spirits it depends what you're after. Made to be sipped neat where you can appreciate the work thats gone into ageing and flavouring the rum. It's well balanced and warming with minimal burn. If you're looking for something heavily sugared like some of the better known aged rum lines this might not be for you.

Once you start paying £30 plus for rum you notice a big scale up in quality. This has a subtlety that is instantly apparent, like the difference between a single malt whisky and most blends, it's refined, singular and an absolute pleasure to drink neat.

It's a good rum. Flavoursome, and smooth. Not quite as 'dry' as I like, but that is just my preference. I shan't buy it again, however. For me, Mount Gay XO holds the crown for best Barbados rum and is the same or cheaper than this.

Been drinking rum for over around 40 years. This is top quality sipping rum (not for mixing - buy cheaper for that). Double shot, single ice cube and be transported to the caribbean!

I love this rum. Stay away from the 5 year old and XO though. They are a lot harsher. This 12 year old just goes down a treat. So smooth. Definitely a great rum. Highly recommend it!

Absolutely delicious! Lush, chewy rum with dried tropical fruits, honey and sweet spice.Every bit as good as any single malt whiskies or Cognacs at twice the price.

This won spirit of the year award on several well known sites so you know it’s a great rum.....only problem I see is the wife likes it...and she doesn’t drink!!!???

Like your rum?......then buy this, it may not be cheap but it is lovely, pour into a glass, let it get to room temperature, sip slowly and enjoy.....perfection!
