I originally gave this version of FM a one-star review - I have left my original review below. However, since that first review, it looks like some improvements have been made. SI have released alternative official skin, which is almost identical to the beautiful FM 14 skin. Just this cosmetic change alone makes the game easier to play. It appears some other changes have been made, too. For example, I was not forced into an unnecessary team meeting that damaged morale. I'm giving the game another go, and so far enjoying it very much.ORIGINAL REVIEW IS BELOW:I wouldn't normally review a computer game, but I feel strongly about this. I've played the Football Manager series of games from the first version, and have found them enjoyable and absorbing. However, the latest version is awful. Why? Let me count the ways:Interface / Visual:The game is ugly. In particular, the dark background is a rude shock to the eyes after the clear look of the previous version. Also, the sheer array of different colour codes on various game elements is visually awful against the dark background. It looks like a four-year-old designed it with Crayolas.Interface / User:The reintroduction of a sidebar on the screen is a backward step. It simply takes up screen space with menu options that could be hidden away on drop-down menus... or even better, there could have been a slide-in-and-out sidebar. But no, it's just there. Taking up space. And annoyingly, it changes colour when you click anything on it.The new tactics screen now has the usual list of your team's players, plus a list of slots for them to fill... on one vertically scrolling menu... that has no scrolling button. It is unwieldy, annoying, and if, like me and a gazillion other people, you play on a laptop with a mousepad, you're going to hate it.Other:Scouting... If you take charge of scouting assignment,s be prepared to navigate several screens and menus to set one assignment. Ridiculous.Interaction: Player personalities are completely over the top, and your options for dealing with them are limited. For example, at the start of the season, I had to hold a team meeting. There was no option to skip the meeting, it was a 'must respond'. The game only gave me ONE option of something to say to the players, and they hated it. How is this realistic interaction?Match play: Too often, the players look like they are 'skating' on the pitch. This has supposedly been fixed with a patch, but I have tried the latest update, and the problem persists. That's just a few of the things that have annoyed me about this game. I have gone back to playing the 2014 version.

I am surprised how low scoring reviews are on here to be honest. People saying they played it for five hours and moaning about it!! How can you tell if you like a game which is so in depth after five hours?! Yes it takes time to get use to the new layout but they do this so you learn wants new about the game. I love the fact you can now include your self in the training, and decide what type of manager you want to be good edition. At first I was in disbelief in how much they have changed things around and changing the format as I loved the easy feel of FM14 and FM13. I have now played it for over a week now,and I went back to try FM14 out and I can say easily I prefer the new format now I am used to it (it takes time).I can also understand how it is frustrating how often injuries keep occurring, I am AFC Wimbledon and I hadn’t had my first choice back four for the first 12 games due to injuries. However since putting them on low level training and bringing them back slowly in the under 21s they are now fully fit and on full training. Which is very realistic if players are always injured it takes time for them to come back.I like the match tunnel interview add a little bit extra to the game, as often you will see when a game on TV they have a pre match interview. Tactics are key as ever, you must read the pre match report of the other team to try and exploit the other team and always check on yours to cover areas of weakness.Searching players is still easy so not sure why people are moaning about that just click on scouting simple!!Regarding the match day pitch, it a massive improvement you now can see stadium and can tell when your playing at a bigger club which is great edition. You can now see your players more clearly and see how they play, if people want better 3D pitch etc play fifia or pro evo because I think you forget this is a manager game.My only dislike is that when selecting your team they use to give the player a rating out of stars of how good they are in that positions i.e ball wining midfield, now they give it to you in a circle format which I dislike.

Despite some negative reviews, its a step up from the last version. The tactics you choose will make or break the game. Choose the wrong combinations and you probably won't enjoy the game very much as you will get destroyed. However if you spend about 10 minutes on google you will find all the relevant information you need in order to tweak those tactics to become a bloody good team. The match engine has improved slightly but then its not a feature in the game which can be dramatically changed too much. The information bar which has been moved from the top of the screen to the left hand side is much more user friendly and easier to use. Unlike the last game, you won't be bogged down with tons of information being thrust in your direction. So once you navigate what to do and what not to do the game is fairly simple. As many other reviews have stated, injuries can and probably will pile up. So act fast in the transfer window or promote from within. And for those of you who fancy using Barcelona, they will be hit by a transfer imbargo by the end of the first transfer window which prevents bringing in new players for a while. However they do have a good group of players in the academy system to fall back on. On the other hand if you use a team like Ajax for example, become successful and face having your team ripped apart by the bigger clubs. In that case stick to your guns and make them pay over the odds so you can bring in a healthy profit and rebuild the team.So get the tactics and training nailed down quickly or prepare to face some serious frustration.

FM isn't a game that you can just start playing and be good at because you have good hand eye coordination, you have to know the team's strong and weak points, play to your teams abilities, bring in and let go the right players. It's quite complex in the many ways you can train players, scout players, arrange friendlies, do deals etc etc. I could go on for hours explaining the details but there really in no point in doing so, I love this game as it's something that FIFA can't give and that's a realistic prediction of seasons and although sometimes the injuries get ridiculous, at least you don't see loads of big name and money moves going on all at once as you do with FIFA's career mode,so glad to have something else to play.

The game takes a bit of getting used to & the updates both help & don't help with game flow, but overall I've found playing this game to be an enjoyable experience. I rage quit 2014 as I found it didn't help with my mood swings due to the amount of errors & tactical failings in the game, which got so bad I could predict how I was going to concede a goal before it actually happened. The games obviously not perfect, no game is & there are still moments where I'm like WTF but overall I'd say give it a go. Might also add my computer is a wee bit old for a game of this magnitude so the fact I can get the 3d match engine to work with nice & clear graphics is a welcome plus.

What can you say another update of the legendary classic. What i like about this game this time is that it has kept up with the times as in you now get pre kick off team talks, interaction with players is more constant, But the most thing i love about it now is that it's more user freindly you can now see what is needed to taylor train your players for certain positions also tactics are also explained and what effect they have they have made it very user freindly it's a godsend for any begginer who has no experience in these games. so glad they have kept the same style of the game if it's not broken don't fix it which they haven't and i'm glad.

Been playing these games avidly since champ manager and whilst theres no doubt the game has been vastly improved since those days maybe its time the developers spent a bit more energy on the match day graphics rather then the more conversational elements like pre and post match questions, is there anybody who does not let the assistant handle that?.I imagine the next installment will comprehensively replicate the experience of a manager arguing with his wife over that fact he loves the club more then her.

The good parts are pretty good, the bad bits not so much, there are some excellent bits too.It certainly improves on last years offering by being set a year later. There is one serious issue that does let them game down and that is that it doesn't work on my Pentium 2, I did put the DVD in the CD drive and it simply went a bit weird and exploded, this did have the unexpected bonus of stopping my partner visiting me, leaving me enough time to play the game, had it worked anyway.............

As an avid Football Manager fan, i have purchased all of the games since 2000. i have to say, this is the best addition yet. A whole new interface makes the game more challenging and therefore more fun. Be it trying to keep your star players happy whilst managing a strict wage budget or scouting the world, looking for the next Messi, but finding the next Heskey, this game is the best edition so far.

The game is good this year don't get me wrong. There are however just a few things that really just bug me. Like when it takes ten minutes to show a goal replay, or when the game randomly crashes, or when a player asks to leave for more football and you ask him to speak to clubs, and he then magically decides he wants to sign a contract extension. Other than things like that, it is very good.

FM Biggest upgrade in YEAR'S and it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! You will play and see your life and the hour's you have off work spill away through you're finger's and won't give it another thought as you are filling your time in one of the best possible way's you can! Absolutely fantastic game! Kiss your wife and kids, wish them well and ENJOY THE GAME!

Another cracking addition to the series. Every year brings a number of small changes, and this one is no different. It must be very difficult to keep innovating a series like this, the same goes for the likes of FIFA, but you know you are getting a quality game full of detail, and which can take up hours, days, and even more of your life.

An excellent, though subtle upgrade. I managed to buy a copy on Black Friday or whatever it is called, so I didn't pay full whack, but having played it for hours and hours since I think it would have still been worth the full price. I've had every version since before SEGA took it on and very pleased to note the changes each year.

Bought this as its the first time i have played the game. Price is good for the product. Downloaded this onto a linux system and works fine and with easy instructions to follow. As I'm no expert I'm very pleased with the game and as my football manager its a class game and so addictive to play. Defiantly Buy this game!!

FM15 seems to be bring the series back to it's best after, what I thought, was a disappointing FM14. Waited for the price to drop before picking it up and so far have not been disappointed. The new match engine seems smooth and the search features remind me greatly of FM12. Would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
