I've been looking for a backpack which can be used for commuting, travel carry-on, and as an everyday hiking/walking pack - This is definitely it for me. I already have a lot of Fjallraven gear and am always impressed with the durability and craftsmanship. I especially like the top easy-access compartment, which is soft-lined for scratchable items such as sunglasses or a phone. Each of the side pockets can easily accommodate a standard 500ml water bottle or larger even when fully packed (see photo). There are three main pockets and an additional zip pocket to the front for easy-access. The front-most pocket includes two mesh pockets and some slide pockets for smaller accessory items.The large main middle pocket has another zip pocket on the top-front, and the rear compartment has a padded pocket for a laptop and a slide pocket for documents. The meadow green is a lot closer to this listing on Amazon than what's on the Fjallraven official site - It's a very attractive mossy green colour. This is a good sized pack for a male or female. I can easily fit my 13" work laptop, a couple of changes of clothes, some toiletries, and other small essentials.I do find the laptop compartment zip a bit sticky, due to the fact that it needs to be fed around the padding, but it's not enough to warrant a complaint. The bottom of the pack is sloped down toward the wearer, so it probably won't stand on its own unless it's loaded very bottom-heavy. Overall I am very pleased and if it's anything like my other gear, it will last a long time.Shipping from this seller was very quick.

Has a large laptop pouch with some additional storage for a newspaper or notepad. An easy access top pocket where I keep things I need to easily grab like headphones or keys. A spacious main compartment that easily fits a weekend's worth of clothes and has a neat additional inner pocket at the top for additional organization. The outer compartment has two mesh zippered pockets, the top one has a cord and snap enclosure your keys. The other side has some small pockets to slide in pens and other small items. There is a decent size pocket at the most outside layer. I use it on my daily commute and on frequent business travel and it is the perfect bag organizationally.It is quite comfortable to wear but when it's full I really do wish it had a chest strap. It is one big glaring error in an otherwise wonderful bag. I also though the material attracted dust and discoloring extremely easily. it looked like it had taken a beating just a few wears in. It was a deep beautiful black colors but looks almost faded now. I am considering washing it even though I've only had it a few months. Other backpacks have not had this problem. If it was not so damn practical I may have returned it but all things considered I'm very happy with it.

The backpack is quite good overall. It carries weight well, staying flat against the back without digging into the shoulders. The shoulder straps could be a little wider and slightly more padded but they're good as is and are easy to get in and out of. It has all the pockets you could want and can hold everything I've needed it to easily. There's a lot of attention to detail throughout and it seems very thoughtfully designed. The material is nice, decently strong and soft for a waxed cotton, but it was hoping it would be a little more water repellent. You could probably wax it when you got it if that's important to you but then it would be more rigid.I can see that the seems at the bottom corners of the backpack look a little stressed after 2 months of use and I can imagine they'd be the first thing to go in a few years. Adding reinforcement there might be beneficial and/or a bottom patch of thicker fabric that wraps up the sides but my overall impression is that the backpack is high quality and will last for years. Best thing I can say is I would buy it again.

I've used this backpack for one semester of school, and it was also my daily backpack for my month in Seoul this summer, so I've had lots of time with it to form this opinion. This is a near-perfect backpack, with a few things that hold it back from being flawless.Pros:-Very comfortable-Great quality/durability-Relatively compact, but can hold a lot of stuff-Aesthetically greatCons:-CAN'T STAND UP ON ITS OWN. This sounds small, but it can become an inconvenience quickly. The backpack doesn't have a flat bottom - it's angled such that it always leans forward when placed on the ground.-The water bottle pockets on the sides aren't elasticized. Again, sounds small,but it does make it harder to keep smaller bottles in there since the pockets are pretty large.-It doesn't do well when wet, and the water-proofing wax is expensive, tedious to apply, and doesn't work very well.Overall would highly recommend this backpack. It's so close to being flawless. Get the larger one unless you're very certain about your size needs.

This is a great looking pack. I'd recommend not getting the black, even though it looks great, for whatever reason the fabric just attracts the hell out of any hair (I have a white dog, so maybe my fault) or clothes that you're wearing that's grey/light colored. But it's not too hard to clean off, just takes some time. Strangely enough I took it to the beach and sand doesn't really stick to it. Weird fabric.Same with the fact that it almost has TOO many pockets. I find myself using about 3/4 so I don't have to search too hard to find what I'm looking for. The laptop compartment works like a charm and you can actually stuff quite a bit in the whole pack without it effecting it.Fits my hydroflask and another beverage but it does impinge a bit on the space. The straps are super solid and unlike others, I find them comfortable. Also bought the 20 liter and it looked like a tiny jet pack on me. Got returned. I'm a tall dude. Get the 28.

The Raven 28L is the nicest backpack I have ever owned! I attend a college with a very large campus, and it also rains a lot here. This backpack serves all of my needs from holding my laptop (17 in) and my textbooks, as well as lunch and snacks and other things. I love the various pockets for storage and organization because it is easier to find things! tThe design also ensure that less weight is put on your shoulders so the pack feels half as light as my L.L. Bean did, even with the same amount of stuff packed in it and despite the fact that the actual bag itself is heavier than my previous one. I was also in a bad car wreck the week after I purchased this backpack,and it was leaning against the door that was hit at 65 mph, and despite being hurdled across my car into the other door, my laptop remained unharmed in any way! Thank you for saving my laptop! I love this backpack and definitely recommend it!

i absolutely love this backpack. i had read a ton of reviews for many backpacks and kept coming back to the fjallraven and so happy i did. this backpack will last forever, it is so well made. this size, the 28L is quite large, which is what i wanted, but fyi if you're trying to figure out what size this is, it's definitely on the bigger size (they have a smaller 20L version as well). it has a whole complete zipper pocket for your laptop which is WONDERFUL. it's not featured enough in the photos, but it's my favorite feature. the green color i got is just lovely as well. The slight only con of this is that it can get heavy quite quickly and the backpack itself is a little on the heavier side because of the material.but, those nits aside it's exactly what i was looking for. i just love it! if you want a backpack to last for the long haul it's absolutely worth it.

Best backpack i have ever owned! Don’t get the 20L - it’s way to small. The 28 is perfect. Zippers work flawlessly. Laptop pocket is great for a 15”. Interior space is perfect. The organizer pockets are easy to use and highly functional. Quality is great! It’s a well thought out backpack. The only areas for improvement that i could see are that it could use a leather pad on the bottom, the leather handle seems a little thin and the material on the straps gets a little wrinkly. Also, it can’t stand on its own, it wants to fall forward - but i think this is due to the pocket design, as it keeps the weight distributed more evenly.None of these things have caused me any issues in the first 6 months.

I bought this backpack for school and general vacationing and I'm very pleased with it. I definitely think this bag is better for school purposes (carrying books, notebooks, a laptop, charger) than it is for traveling (if you stuff a sweater in here it'll fit but the bag will be very fat). It's also a very durable bag (roughed it up in the deserts of Arizona) and has the upside of being waterproof (spilled coffee on it and most of it just slid right off). One downside I can think of is that the water bottle pockets on the left and right sides aren't elastic so if you have a larger bottle it might not be secured very well but this wasn't an issue for me.

I purchased this item based on a friends recommendation. I needed a carryon bag for my trip to Ireland. I was going to go with Herchel, and I’m glad I didn’t. In the beginning when the bag initially came in the mail I thought “wow this is a lot smaller than I expected”. Of course it was flat and there was nothing in it. The color is true to picture. It fits SO MUCH inside the bag. So many little different compartments. Durable through my entire trip and with school. Not water proof, but when it was exposed to lots of rain, no damage was done to anything inside the bag. Best purchase, and not as expensive as the actual website!!

Great backpack! Not only does it look sleek and stylish, but it has plenty of pockets for organization. I'm able to keep all the school supplies I need in here for college, with room to spare. My only gripe is the back support pad. If the back pad was a few inches shorter, the backpack would be a lot more stable and stand up straight on its own. Also the pad is a bit stiff. Hopefully it loosens up with time. However, I realize this is nitpicking. Overall, I highly recommend this backpack. I just got this backpack, and I will update if anything goes awry, but I don't think it will given the quality of the materials.

I seriously feel this item should get more than the maximum stars!Sturdy build with great comfort would be the best way to describe it. Backpack that looks kind of neutral at first glance but amazes You with details the more You look at it. Everything is top quality, from zippers to the overall materials. High quality waxed canvas makes it waterproof as well.All the sections inside are well thought through, plenty of space for Your laptop, personal items or anything You wish to carry on Your back. Easy on the shoulders even when fully loaded! My favorite backpack so far, recommended through the roof!

The Fjallraven - Raven works perfectly in it's intended function as a backpack; it has several smaller pockets in the main front pocket to hold odd bits and end and a cushioned laptop holder that doesn't have me fearing for my laptop's safety. However it is very much prone to picking up lint, hair, and small stains that detract from it's overall aesthetic appeal, especially since they contrast heavily with the backpacks dark design. This may be fixed with the addition of wax.It also appears to be sufficiently water-resistant, not leaking any water into the main compartments.

I tried every other model of Fjallraven packs and a few other brands as well and this one comes as close to perfect as any I've had,. There's plenty of room in the pack but its low profile prevents you from making too many enemies in public places, where it seems no matter which way you turn.....Anyway, the pack is ergonomically flawless Es flawless and the external design is beautifully understated. I've only had it for a day and it['s already my most favorite backpack I've ever had. I'd give it more stars if I could.

I intended on buying a backpack that will last me a while and the quality of this backpack seems up to that task. I am replacing a Swiss Gear backpack that was ripping apart at the shoulder strap but the tough fabrication all over the exterior of this backpack seems very durable. The space inside is also very ample and expands when storing items inside. There are also so many compartments which is always a plus for me.
