The main problems with normal sports shoes only occur when you really put the power down on the pedals, hit pretty rough stuff at speed or ride in the wet, all of which can cause a risky slip of the foot. Having always used SPD clips I was surprised how much more grip these shoes gave when compared to a good quality pair of sports shoes. They are also very comfortable and tough in wet, muddy and rocky conditions. Recommended for serious mountain bikers.ProsVery secure grip compared to normal sports shoesComfortable to wear and walk in (if you have to).Good water resistance.Hardy. After 500 km, nothing to complain about: excellent grip combined with my DMR V11 pedals, comfortable, size corresponding to my usual size of city shoes, outer coating fairly easy to roughly clean (mud). Only downside: an insole arrived folded / crumpled in its box on delivery. This created a small distortion which still persists to this day. You can feel it when you put the shoe on but not when you use it, so I did not return the product.

Awesome good shoe, good grip! Have previously had Shimano am7 and these are equivalent if not even better than am7. The only negative is that they are not particularly water resistant, but you knew that before I bought them! I have 44 in shoe size and bought these in 44.5, would have been able to have 45 without them feeling too big but 44.5 fit perfectly (usually stretch a bit)

only negative is the sizing... you need to buy 1 size up if your wearing thick socks, Im a 7 and the 7.5 feels like 7. but they will stretch as all shoes do when riding a bike as you flex the material much more than normal walking. They are very grippy even when the conditions are wet, they stick to the pedals. Extreme riders need this kind of foot protection

As others have stated bought 0.5 size larger than normal and fit perfectly and surprisingly comfortable. The grip is fantastic, feet stay in place on basic pedals and feel the power difference. Have ordered DMR vault pedals to improve further. Shoes are well made and clean very easily. Should have bought these a long time ago.

Fit perfectly, but only if you order a size up. Super grip on the pedals, stiff enough where needed and also provide some protection in wet conditions. Under € 100 deal makes these by far the best deal ever for the best show on the market.

I already have the second pair, size 43. Even after the acquisition of the brand by Adidas, the second pair fits me perfectly. But you have to pay attention that you order the shoes a bit bigger. I usually have size 42 and a broader foot.

Good shoes, pleasant and light. No system to hold the laces, but ultimately not a problem. Note that like all shoes for flat pedals I suppose, they are not suitable for walking in muddy or rough terrain.

Good quality upper and solid sole. Would like to have see a Velcro cover to keep the laces from flapping around but that is probably just my OCD kicking in. Will definitely be buying again.

The workmanship and quality are subjectively top, but unfortunately I would have needed the shoe at least half a size larger than I normally wear - but unfortunately there were no more.

The shoe fits (at least for me / narrow foot) like a glove and feels TRUE TRUE good. You don't want to take it off anymore. The sole has an incredibly good grip and is very stable.

The Five Ten Freedrider Pro fully met my expectations. The sole is hard enough to put enough pressure on the pedal and the grip is terrific. The toe area is reinforced. 10/10

Had a pair for a while now. they have had a real pasting and didnt fall apart. These i have just bought are really light and comfortable. They seem well made and tough.

Great shoe, nice stiff sole with lots of grip on flats not too hot keeps water out and the hardened toe cap is great if you hit rocks or roots
