From a premium German manufacturer (which I must admit I had never heard of), this 'Fissler vitaquick Pressure Cooker Stainless Steel - 8 L Pressure Cooker 26 cm Ø - Induction, Gas, Glass Ceramic, Electric - 600-700-08-000/0' is a beautifully-engineered large-capacity pressure cooker. It can hold up to 8 litres, and can be used on any sort of hob, including induction. We use our pressure cookers mainly for sterilising items, so the lack of an included trivet and steamer basket with this model was a shame, although fortunately we had one from an old one which fits well. Unlike other pressure cookers I have used, this one comes with two different pressure settings, selected via turning a dial on the lid to 1 or 2 (2 is the higher). Having recently acquired another Fissler pressure cooker, I was aware of the slight flaw with their 'security' button on the handle (with the other one, I had it misaligned very slightly the first time I tried, not enough for the button to not close properly, but enough for the lid to leak steam and thus not achieve pressure) so have been very precise in my lid alignment, which has worked perfectly. As you would expect from a large volume pressure cooker such as this, it is quite heavy even when empty, so would be difficult for someone with reduced mobility/hand strength to handle. It does have two handles to facilitate pouring/emptying, which helps a lot, but please be aware of the weight. The pan has a traffic light pressure indicator which works very well, it pops up when the pressure builds up inside the pan, showing yellow for 'nearly at pressure, reduce heat now', green for 'at pressure', and red for 'pressure too high - at which the pan will automatically vent the excess out from near the handle. Provided you check that the rubber seal is in good condition and that the safety features are working (details of how to do so are given in the very clear manual) then this is a safe pan to use. It is easy to clean using normal dishwashing liquid, although they do recommend use of their own stainless steel conditioner to get maximum life from the metal.Costly but beautiful quality pressure cooker.

This is a review of Fissler vitaquick Pressure Cooker Stainless Steel - 8 L Pressure Cooker 26 cmThis is simply a 8L, 26cm pressure cooker with a few modern / ease of use twists. There is a handle on the base and lid - some of the larger pressure cookers have "ears" rather than handles. It's all personal preference I suppose.Unlike some pressure cookers the base is dishwasher safe, although I generally wash mine by hand due to the size and weight of it.The lid is also dishwasher safe if you take out the pressure gauge and handle - both easy to do and well explained in the instructions. However I wash these by hand as well.Put the gasket inside the lip in the lid, line everything up and move the handle round until the indicator clicks and shows a green symbol. This should last a lifetime although the rubber gasket will need replacing.I only use mine for making stock and a pressure-cooked beef stew. I use a pressure cooker a dozen times a year if that. This one is currently £135 which seems about par for the course - my other one is a 5L Kuhn Rikon. Unfortunately the Fissler comes with no extras. I would like to have got a trivet and internal baskets for that price. The 8L pressure cooker is very big. However it should only be filled 2/3 full (1/3 for some ingredients that foam up). From experience my 5L pressure cooker will only just take a small chicken carcass and all the stock vegetables. On that basis I would recommend you get a pressure cooker larger than one you think you'll need. Think stockpot-size rather than saucepan size.

Some of the best set of instructions I've seen on how to use a pressure cooker. This cooker is very suited to a novice as well as a professional - there's step by step instructions on it's use, charts on cooking temperatures for different foods, a detailed trouble shooting guide, plenty of how tos and advice, hints, tips and warnings on how to not blow your socks off..As a proficient user of pressure cookers, I too have learnt some very useful tips from this well worded manual. The pressure cooker is simple to use on operation and easily deconstructed to allow for washing and storage as the handle is removable too.It cooks at two pressure settings: 40kPa and 80kPa. Each setting is described in detail,as well as what to and how to cook with each one.The guide is only let down by the absence of a clear 'key' near the 'figures' chart on the front cover. Instead, there isn't a 'key': but the parts are discussed in the corresponding instructions depending on which language you choose to read. There are also no extras in this set - if you require a trivet, stand or steamer. These must be bought separately. As for me, the set, as is, is all I need to cook up an array of daals, stews, fish dishes, kedgerees, trotters and broths; using lentils to red meats and everything in between.A solid and excellent workhorse from a trusted German engineered brand.5 stars.

Wow! It really is a great looking pressure cooker and extremely well made.I bought it after reading around and viewing America's Test Kitchen video review of 8 stovetops and 4 electrics on YouTube. This was top-rated by ATK. It met all their key criteria: stainless steel, straight sides, good thick bottom disc covering the whole surface, broad shape, the only one tested to reach the top 250F pressure.....The safety features are excellent too - it is easily vented with steam arcing away from the user, there is a very visible pressure indicator...I kicked off with a batch of leek and potato soup which turned out beautifully. The cooker held pressure very well,I didn't need to tinker with it after reducing heat to the minimum (efficient with a good wide thick bottom disc).Only disappointment was that it did not include a steamer basket and trivet. I ordered one made for the InstantPot which comes with a combined trivet and egg steamer.Lastly, I must recommend hippressurecooking.com for tutorials and recipes as well as the book by that name.(I bought an 8l pressure cooker together with a 4l pressure skillet, a package no longer available via this site at least).

This is a fantastic piece of kit. It has a generous 8 litre capacity making it suitable for larger recipes for the family. The quality is excellent. It’s the first pressure cooker I’ve had with two different speeds. The locking mechanism gives you a satisfying click response when locked and is very secure. The instructions are excellent and you’ll find them particularly useful if you’re not familiar with a pressure cooker. The only slight downside is it doesn’t come with a basket or stand. Luckily I have both from a previous pressure cooker but with a £100+ price tag it does seem a bit stingy. And it’s always good to get a basket that fits. With pressure cookers having different capacities they can sometimes have different widths making an exact fit not always easy. That’s the only reason I’ve knocked a star off. Otherwise it’s fantastic.

I have just made a delicious stew in less time than any other pressure cooker I have ever used.My mother used a high dome when I was in my teens 60 years ago and I have had quite a few since then.Fisher Vitaquick is a new name to me so I didn't know what to expect but I am very happy.I find it easy to use, which will be a good selling point to anyone, it is very well made, extremely sturdy, holds a lot.It is easy to release steam though you still have to be careful following instructions. Parts are easily removed for cleaning. The instruction booklet gives timings on most foods. Less guesswork suits me.The stew left the veg quite solid but soft and the meat tasted delicious.I expect I will be using this pressure cooker for years and passing it on as my mother did to me.It deserves high praise

It is made of high quality stainless steel with a firm grip handle. It comes with a instructions booklet which is very handy as it gives you the cooking times for different foods. In addition to the usual cooking levels, this pan is also equipped with an innovative steam cooking function. Its very convenient as it has 3-colour indicator light for easy pressure monitoring. Whats more, its stack able and has removable handle for easy storage. It is very easy to clean. I think this cooker will last me a very long time.

This has to be the quietest pressure cooker I’ve heard. I would highly recommend fissler pressure cooker. Very easy to use as soon as pressure is obtained I turned down to gas mark 2 and it maintained the pressure until cooking time was done. I left it to reduce pressure itself which took about 10 mins. I’ve only practiced with jars of water but extremely impressed. One thing I was disappointed with for an expensive pressure cooker is that there was no rack or vegetable steaming basket with Hope the video helps

This is a stunningly well-made German-quality pressure cooker. We also have a Fissler stew pan which has become one of our most used kitchen pans. You'll be utterly thrilled with the quality of this cooker as you take it out of its packaging. Another reviewer has pointed out the usefulness of the hippressurecooking.com website. I can't recommend it and this pan enough.

Must have kitchen ware if you are staying at home with Covid and making every meals at home. Lovely carrot soup, casseroles and roast beefs could be easily cooked at your own house. Cooked vegieables tastes so much nicer than just boiling them in a hot water, losing all the good bits and taste. Highly recommend to equip your kitchen to make your QOL even better!
