This super-cute sloth has been living with our family for the last few weeks and my 9 month old adores him (see video). Literally she is thrilled by him, he's the perfect little hang out companion, if we put him with her in her playpen shes really content watching him and loves holding his hands (which is where the design flaw comes in, I'll cover this shortly). The sloth arrives in demo mode so when you press his buttons none of the phrases make sense, and he only says a few different things, so don't be put off by reviews that say it doesn't work properly because it does, you just have to take it out of the packaging and reset the on button.Once we did this he was up and running with lots of great catchy songs (he has a male adult well-spoken voice, which I found quite weird at first but actually its quite soothing!).He moves his head from side to side when he sings and his hands move in and out, like he's clapping. It's this hand motion that really transfixes my baby daughter (and my 3 year old too), so much so that she loves to grab them, and when she does they often get stuck (you'll see it in the video), and it makes a horrible mechanical noise as the hands can't move. It stops when she let's go but its quite annoying. The first thing babies will want to do when they see the hands moving is grab them so its disappointing that this wasn't thought through properly by the designers. This is part of the Linkamals range which all interact with one another, so when you turn each on they all start singing together. We don't have any more of the Linkamals but I tried them in a toy shop recently and it does sound quite cool. We're definitely going to look into getting another Linkamals toy as my daughter loves this so much. Despite the design flaw with the hands I would still highly recommend this.

ProsVery colourful with the colour-changing light which is really bright but not too bright.Loud and clear speaker with lots of content, including songs and games. It has an off/low/high switch for the volume (off turns the whole thing off). The clapping really works - varies between fast and slow to prevent it getting too gimmicky.Very sturdy sat on a flat surface.Although the packaging didn't fully protect the toy, getting it out of it was an absolute doddle. Tear open the perforated cardboard base, twist 3 plastic clips 90 degrees and the whole thing just comes out. No scissors or screwdriver required. Other than those clips, it's all cardboard so straight in the recycling bin.Hooray for no plastic. The head seems to be quite securely attached. It makes a clunking noise if you put pressure on it while it's moving, so there is obviously a mechanism to stop the motor being damaged by doing this.Toy works out of the box with the supplied batteries, although I believe they are just 'demo batteries' which are not meant to last all that long.Baby clapped along within minutes so he obviously liked it!ConsWe do think it's a bit expensive for what it is but then I guess it does have the ability to talk to other Linkimals. The fabric arms look like they might get pulled out. We did have to send ours back for a refund as one of the arms was so loose out of the box that it did a one-armed clap during the slow bits. Looked a bit rubbish! Suggest testing it first before you get it out the box. Power switch was already on for both of the ones we purchased.Have yet to test the talking to other Linkimals as we only have the one.Would we recommend it.. yep! But it's a little on the expensive side and you end up feeling like you have to buy more just to see them working with it.

I got this for my niece (3y/o) and nephew (1y/o) to try.My niece has a very similar bear like this so I thought she’d like it, but it turns out she doesn’t! The hard shell nature of this made it unpopular with her, I think perhaps because she was already used to the soft cuddly bear. Perhaps she would have liked it more if she hadn’t been comparing it to that one. I think she also didn’t like the fact that although the middle area looks as though it’d be a big button you can press, it’s not pressable. The toy withstands a quite a tough handling from my 1 year old nephew as he enjoys holding the arms down when they are meant to be moving (the sloth claps his hands in and out). When the arms are held still it results in a rattling sound from the motor, which my nephew finds highly amusing. Despite this happening many times it hasn’t had an adverse effect on the toy.The main benefit, in my opinion, is that the phrases are pronounced in an English rather than an American accent like many other toys. The wobbly head (that goes from side to side when the music plays) is also pretty cute, and the colour-changing lights in the middle are really fun. It’s easy for kids to use as there are just 2 buttons to press, resulting in cheerful catchphrases and tunes. One side is ABC123 with various basic alphabet and counting songs. The other side is fun songs. Some of them have little movements such as “wiggle your toes!”Adults can adjust the volume on the back if needed. I have to admit the songs are ok! Not annoying as they’re quite soft and melodic.I’d still recommend it but I do think there are better toys out there (for example, the bear, which from memory I think was also Fisher Price).

It really seems that FP have really hit the ball out of the park this year and scored big with this new linking interactive range. They have latched onto the fact that slightly older children love interactive toys, so therefore their younger brothers or sisters will want the same. And what better to use than a sloth! It seems that sloth's are massive this year, but this one is certainly no sloth, he is quite quick and very responisve to any noise! He (or she) can produce 85 or more sounds, which for the pirce is bang on, he also claps his big fabric hands to the beat whilst wobbling his head like a slothy David Gray. The light show if you dim the lights is almost as good as a Chemical Brothers live set in the Simon Says stylee, and you will be pleased to know you can lower the volume, phew. The first time in ages that actually opening a toy was a pleasure, as it normally involves cutting and twisting twines, not with this, just three twisty tabs and you unleash the sloth. And you will be relieved to know that batteries are included, yay!I fully recommend this product for any toddler from 9 months to 4 years, just make sure you invest in another to fully get the most out of the full features...musical moose incoming! If you found this review useful then please click the helpful button below, and be sure to check out our other reviews of products you may also consider purchasing from Amazon. Great value for money! This is one of my favourite linkimals, he is cute sturdy and with soft padded arms. The colours are so bright and vibrant my video review doesn’t do them justice. His sound is nice and loud and the mechanical sound isn’t too loud , compared to beatbo it’s pretty smooth and you don’t notice it too much.He is pretty sturdy so I don’t think he will fall over easily. The interaction with the other linkimals is great! They cheer each other and your child along! They break into song and giggle! Also they count with each other just to name a few!The range where they can interact is great too,I had the Lama down stairs and the other three upstairs and they all started communicating when I pressed the lama! All in all I would recommend this one for sure!I have done video reviews for all of the linkimals in the video so check them out :)If you like the video and find them if use give me a thumbs up so I know they are helpful :)

I will admit to personally finding this sloth toy a bit freaky - but my 11-month old nephew adores his new noisy, moving, lighted toy; and particularly its hand-clapping motion. The sloth is quite large and predominantly made from plastic, although it has padded fabric arms that roll forward on articulated shoulder joints and sort of flap at each other so that the sloth can "clap his hands". There is a central lighted wheel on sloth's tummy that either lights up entirely in one colour (and then changes), or can light up in sections - halves or quarters with chasing or different colours, whilst the sloth's head sort of rolls from side to side. The light show is actually rather pretty. There is a bit of audible motor noise accompanying the toy's movement, but generally it has quite a pleasant speaking/singing voice.

This is a cute little sloth, perfectly designed for hours of enjoyment. The content is phenomenal - there really must 85+ songs, snippets of music, sounds and phrases because new ones appear every time we turn it on - and then there's the built-in light show. My littlest granddaughter absolutely loves this adorable toy, she gets really excited every time she sees it.. She especially loves it when the little sloth 'dances' by clapping its hands and wobbling head - she squeals, then giggles and copies the movements. Just so adorable to watch. This is a great toy not just for learning words and songs, but also for learning cause and effect, early gross motor and fine motor skills and for having lots of fun.Very pleased to report that it comes with batteries so, if it's a gift, it can be used straight away.

This little Sloth is a joy - a singing, moving, clapping, clever little interactive toy for 9 months plus (who am I kidding we all love joining in!!).The buttons light up, the sloth sings and moves and wiggles and encourages and its a joy. We really love the clapping and my son has hours of fun doing clapping..he's just 11 months so this is a really lovely interaction. We only have Slothy Sloth so far...but I believe the other Linkimals will interact between them. Honestly - just Sloth is fun so you don't *need* another.....but I think Llamy Llama will be joining us soon!Tope quality interactive, educational and enjoyable play. Highly recommended.

This is the second linkimal we purchased for our daughter. Joining the koala we got a while ago we are really impressed with the way the two animals join in songs together. The sloth itself is well built, with lots of interesting flashing lights and songs about the alphabet and our daughter loves watching them. They seem to hold up well to small hands grabbing them. For me having more than one linkimal definitely adds value to the other. The range is also impressive, they were on different floors of my house and still singing with each other - though this may be a downside for some!!

We have had a lot of fun play with this product. It is bright and cheerful. The buttons are easy to manipulate by small hands and the colours, lights and sounds make it engaging and fun for little people. I particularly like it because it has super cute face and other sloth mad little person loves it.We also have the hedgehog in the same range and playing with them together makes the fun even more as they talk to each other. When one says a number the other counts or sings.A fab product which we are getting a lot of enjoyment out of.

This is a 12 inch tall hard plastic sloth toy with soft arms that talks and engages with the child and will have them dancing & clapping along. The head and arms move and dance and it gives clear voice instructions and plays music, there is a volume control for when parents need it a little quieterIt has Linkimals technology built in which means it will dance along with other nearby animals from the range, there are 5 in the range, otter, moose, hedgehog and llama....a nice change from cat, dog, cow & pig.

I bought this item for my daughter because it looked really cute. The buttons are really easy for her to press and the voice is cute as well (not your typical electronic toy type voice). However, it is really easy for her to knock over and then makes a loud clunking noise when the head can't move properly. I do not own any other "Linkimals" so the price feels a bit steep for what it does. I believe more features open up when further toys within the range are added together.

My son was bought sloth for christmas. He loves him, so much so that we have added more linkamals. To get the most out of sloth I would advise adding at least 1 more linkamal, after all, they interact with each other....that's the whole idea. They talk to each other and sing songs. These are my sons favourite toys, they are very easy to work with huge buttons so younger children could definitely manage to work them. The songs are pretty catchy too ?

Good kids toy. I was wondering how the linkimals would link up, couldn't see how to do it on the box. Don't worry though, you just press the centre button and if there is another one switched on nearby, they will have a bit of interaction and sing together. I have the moose also, which is a lot smaller than the sloth. Pretty solid, gets annoying for parents pretty quickly but the kids love it.. mug for scale, it doesn't come with a mug..

It's not thick or sheer but a fun toy for babies up to ages 3 or 4. I've bought my son all of the linkamals and he's lost in his own little world. They all talk and sing together no matter which one is being played with. The sloth in particular moves his head from side to side and claps his hands without noise. He encourages movement and puts a smile on my sons face. I highly recommend collecting all of the linkamals!
