This is a brilliant and colorful toy from Fisher price for ages 6 to 36 months. A multicolored train with three carriages for the three characters included. The train requires 2x C batteries. It comes with batteries already installed. There is a motor button which when switched on and you press the smokestacks the train chugs along for about 10 seconds. So it is a moving train howbeit it moves slowly which is a big help for a toddler crawling. The train has more than ninety songs, sounds, phrases and tunes. It can teach colour, shapes, frenchwords, opposites, letters etc. On the side of the of the first train are five numbers on five shapes in five colours. So one is on round and orange, two is a red heart, three is a purple triangle, four is a blue square and five is a yellow star. There are three levels or smart stages-On level 1 when you press the smoke stack - it starts with 1,2, 3 chug along.. the it will count up to 9 and stop . Remember it chugs along for only 10 seconds so you have to press the smoke stack each time it stops for the next acitivty- shapes, numbers, abcde up to p, colours,, as long as the smokestack stack is pushed down it will continue to repeat this cycle in different order. To change it up you switch to level 2. In level two you learn something new in french as well . It basically repeats the cycle as in level 1 - numbers, colours, shapes, numerals if you press the smokestack, but in addition pressing the different coloured shapes with their numbers you learn the colour, the number and the shape in both English and French. It also changes up the activity by asking you to find the a number, shape or colour. The level of complexity increases in level three where you here sentences with the shapes, the numbers and the colours etc. eg On pressing 1 which is an orange circle, you will hear “the wheels are circles spinning round and round”. So pressing the buttons and smokestack gets the activity going. My cousin’s seven month old baby has been having so much fun with this and it ha# been a great way to spend time and play with her. Babies are very observant and she very quickly figured out which buttons to press to move the train and hear the sounds. This is great toy with unimaginable potential for learning and early development of sensory and motor skills. The colours are attractive and cheerful.

The Train Beatbo would be great for a child learning to crawl although I wouldn’t say it was quite as good as some of the other toys in the Fisher Price range in terms of learning. The train comes with a carriage to attach with additional places for the characters to sit and I like they don’t have to fit into a specific spot. By pressing on the funnel the train it will start up the songs and sounds and build up before it starts moving. It doesn’t move fast but it does have decent power to it to be able to pull the carriages but will also push things out its way too. The downside is the songs don’t play fully – the alphabet ends on ‘P’.I’d say level 2 was the best in terms of learning – not only can they learn French (although I don’t find the French that clear) but it asks them to find the purple triangle or number 1. There are lots of different sounds and phrases but you soon learn the order so it will get a bit monotonous. The songs are a bit strange – not as upbeat but it still captures his imagination although he runs to me when it starts moving so I’m not sure if he’s a bit scared of it. It says by pressing the characters down in the train it will say phrases but I’ve tried will all 3 characters and can’t get this work at all. So overall, I think it’s fine for a younger child (6+ months) by I’d say by the time they reach 18 months you’d maybe want something that plays the whole alphabet and finishes counting up to 10.

Got for my 2 year old grandson - review by my eldest daughterThis was bought for my two year old.He really liked the three different characters. It comes with three learning stages which are good. Stage two with the French accent is ‘interesting’ and it actually quite hard to understand - for some reason it sounds like the normal voice but on helium. I think these levels will be good for my child to help him learn shapes, numbers and colours. My son really liked the musical element of this toy and also that it moved forward. I actually think that the music could go on for longer - which surprises me to say but it does end quickly. The carriages could be attached more securely as they do veryeasily come off. This could be played with by much younger children as the parts are big and it is built well. There is lots to look at and move around. There is an off button on this toy which can come in handy sometimes. There is a button that stops it moving forward which could be good for a non moving younger child. The volume can also be reduced - handy!I will add that this did stop him constantly wanting Bing or Thomas (the frankly dire new version), just about preferable!

The 'Fisher Price Bright Beats Learning Train' is the ideal toy for demonstrating cause and effect to young children and encouraging them to use their imaginations. It's well made and built to last, with chunky features which are perfect for little hands. It's also highly interactive and provides hours of fun, thanks to its multiple functions and buttons, which can be tailored to the age of the child. The motorised wheels will run across most flat surfaces, although it doesn't have much in the way of grip so struggles with the deep pile carpet in our bedroom. The melodies are tuneful and catchy; our 18 month old son particularly loves "I like to chugga, chugga choo choo". Although as a parent,I find the overly cheerful and rather nasal singing quite painful to listen to, and there are times when I wish the batteries would fail. And I'm not sure what species the characters are meant to be - are they dogs or aliens or alien-dogs, and why do they like trains so much? That being said our son doesn't seem to mind, he'll happily play with his for hours...and hours!

This is a robust, colourful train with three cute characters. Batteries are already fitted and there's an on-off switch and volume control under the engine as well as a switch to set the engine from self-propelled to push-along and a switch to select the three different song and activity levels. As a push-along it is great fun and switching on there are a number of activities and songs activated by pressing down on the funnel, pushing the driver down or pressing the buttons on the side, this also causes the funnel to flash blue. It also speaks in French, particularly the colours, but these weren't particularly clear, I'm not sure how useful this is.With the motor switch on pressing down on the funnel causes the train to move forward for about 10 seconds. Age range is given as 6 to 36 months, I think it is more 6 months to 24 months as it didn't engage my grandchildren, who are over 2 and confident walkers, for long.

Fisher Price has produced a super, chunky first train set for the young baby/toddler.In bright, attractive colours, the pieces are ideal for little fingers and hands. There are lots of buttons to press and knobs to turn, a carriage to unhook and passengers to seat. This makes the set a truly enjoyable sensory, play experience. The smoke stack lights up and the wheels turn on the train and there are apparently over 90 songs, sounds, tunes and phrases (so says the marketing blurb: I have not heard all of them but am making my way through!). This lends variety, excitement and education through entertainment. It encourages gross motor skills, cause and effect, language development and creative play. And I am delighted that the set includes the 2 C batteries needed. At £26.99 (Amazon December 2018), this represents brilliant value for money.

This is a bright, cheerful motorised train, which has a huge number of songs, sounds, tunes and phrases (90+ in all, although most of the songs are quick bursts and snatches). This train does move, but it does so fairly slowly and is easy for crawling babies to follow. The toy is suitable for ages 6-36 months and has a train, which has three different settings, or stages, plus two carriages and three toy figures who can ride inside. As well as all the sounds, phrases and learning opportunities – including French words, shapes, numbers, colours and more – the train itself has lots for little hands to explore, with buttons to push, a roller, spinner and just taking the characters for a ride.Lots of fun and the activities will grow with your child.

Our girls owned the previous version of this Fisher Price Learning train and they loved it! When they received this version, they were happy that each had their own set. They really engage with the different activities - pressing buttons, singing, learning colours, numbers, etc. It also provides plenty of opportunities for role-playing with the different characters without the train being turned on (great if you want a break from the noise!).You can set it on the “moving-forward” function which means that it sings and moves forward when you press the chimney. This did freak out my one-year old niece but I don’t know if this is an isolated case as my 2 year-old and 4 year-old really enjoyed playing and particularly, this feature.

I watched an interesting programme recently about how we narrow down the different sounds we can hear over the first year of life - so if you want to have a bi-lingual child then you need to start very young in exposing them to different languages. This toy includes some French words - but they are not that clear - and you would want to follow up by repeating them yourself - which I guess is pretty instinctive anyway. This is a moderately priced toy that includes some movement along with the sounds. I think this would appeal from 6 months upwards - but would probably lost its appeal at a year or so. But for your aspiring bi-lingual toddler this could be just the thing.

This is a very nice and brightly coloured toy. The many interactive buttons to press are great for the little one to be entertained by while encouraging them to sit up. Then, as they move onto crawling they are encouraged to follow after the (very appropriately) slow moving train. This is a great idea giving them a fun target and perhaps a break from parents getting caught up in the excitement of maybe always wanting them to crawl their way as the main destination. It has moved well over carpet, quite thick rugs and obviously wooden floor. There are loads of lights and sounds that can be activated in different ways. Another super Fisher Price toy.

This is a colourful and cheerful toy with a few elements that separate and can also be used separately. The carriages fit onto the train with some quirky little characters that sit in the train and carriages. When the chimney of the train is depressed it lights up and the train starts emitting music and phrases, it then moves forward pulling the carriages behind. It is very well made as you would expect from Fisher Price, also very safe for the very young inquisitive baby. An excellent toy built to last and survive the abuse only a baby can administer.

Off you don't like most toys then you'll want to give this a miss. If you don't mind then then boo aboard the Beatbo train. Having had the original Beatbo when it cane out, I was interested to see what the incarnation would be like. It is just as much fun but adds I the movement element so like one is encouraged to crawl. There's plenty to keep the tiny one interested and lots of educational value too. Excellent toy either for your ow n little one or for a friend/family member who is due an arrival.

This is a really versatile toy for very young babies and it is well designed to encourage them to crawl. Although undeniably made of plastic, this is actually really easy to clean and keep hygienic so no complaints here. It is bright and colourful and the little dolls are cute and appealing. I have a bit of an aversion to toys that speak or sing, but this is not too loud and offers many options - all round good learning tool I think. Great price atm!

Bought for my 12 month old as he loved his beat bo toy... he does love this train and play with it often.. but personally I'm not too impressed with the lack of entertainment it gives, the songs are very short, it doesn't ride along for more than 10-15 seconds and the carriages don't stay attached and so he only plays with the main train part.. it could definately have been better thought out. But... he is a baby and doesn't know any different.

Super cute baby toy. My granddaughter who is crawling about loves it. It’s the first toy she goes to when she comes here for the day. The toy is bright and loud. Very appealing to a little at floor level. This toy is great value for money. And it’s study. If thrown by the little one it still manages to work. But with a fantastic name like Fisher-Price what do you expect.Highly recommend to all my Nanny and Granny groups.
