I have had this mouse mat for five years now and I find I can't use another mousemat or wrist rest without discomfort. This one is by far the most comfortable of all I've tried, due to the V-groove (more of a U-groove really). However I use it differently.I find I can't use a mouse comfortably if I hold it with my hand and wrist horizontal like most people. It seems to set up a tension in the tendons of the forearm and after a while leads to discomfort and even aching arms. So I hold my mouse with my knuckles at about 30-40 degrees. I think this is the reason some people swear by those ergonomic mice with the angled buttons. The trouble with holding it like this is,on a flat desk one of the two bones in my wrist press quite hard into the surface and cause soreness. This can be either the end of the ulna (the biggest bony bump at the outside of your wrist) or the pisiform (the lump at the corner of your palm opposite the base of the thumb), or both. Even on a normal padded or gel rest all the weight is pushing into this area of my wrist and it can get quite uncomfortable. So instead of resting my wrist flat across this groove, I fit the edge of my wrist *into* it. It seems so natural and comfortable this way and I can use a mouse all day, as I have to in my job, without discomfort or pain.Having had this one for five years it's now falling apart. The lycra microban fabric is coming away from the foam on the rest and at the corners. It's not too bad for hours a day most working days for five years! I've looked at the ones on offer in my employer's standard issue catalogue but none have this groove so I'm going to buy another to leave at work and when this one dies I'll replace the home one so I don't have to cart it about!

This mouse pad does everything you might hope for.The pad itself is relatively small and an unusual shape - it is a tall and thin rectangle. The area for the mouse to move in is 5 inches across and 7 inches from top to bottom. The wrist supports add another 2 inches at the bottom. I have found that this relatively small mousing area is not a problem, but it may be a problem if you like broad mouse strokes. It is very comfortable to use. It has two gel-filled pads at the bottom to act as wrist supports which are very comfortable. The gel pads are very squishy, they mould around the shape of your wrist which helps make it comfy. They have a divot in the middle of them which at first I couldn't see the point of,but after time I realised that they helped my arm rest more comfortably. The packaging describes it as a "Health-V" and the accompanying picture would suggest that it provides an area with less pressure under the wrist where your main tendons move your fingers. They suggest that this relieves wrist pressure to help prevent carpal tunnel syndrome.I use an optical mouse and it has worked well on the mat. Judging by the feel of it, I expect a traditional ball mouse would be fine as well. The mat is backed with a tacky rubber so it holds fast on a work surface. The mat is apparently imbued with Microban, so it has an anti-microbial effect. That is not something I would go out of my way to get. Personally I don't value anti-bacterial products as either something is clean or it is not and I suspect that it is more about marketing than effect. All in all a very good mouse mat.

Having recently changed jobs in the last few months and "inheriting" some PC equipment at work, I always baulk at the state of some of things, with their discoloured padded sections, greasy appearances and enough crumbs and bits of stuff to make an entire packet of digestives. Normally I just put up and shut up, but this mouse mat has arrived to take the place of a similar padded mouse mat that had seen better times...It's predecessor on my desk was sort of circular but also had a foam padded section in. This new Fellowes one is instantly more comfortable due to it's "V-Groove" which is designed to provide your wrist with a settling point with a channel running through it to stop pressurebuilding up in the centre of your wrist (supposedly to help prevent carpel tunnel syndrome).Time will tell as to whether I ultimately develop carpel tunnel, but it's always good to know that humble devices such as mouse mats can be improved to help with such things. This mat is nice and un-intrusive, the material has a nice sort of silky sheen to it which looks quite smart on my desk.Value for Money is a matter of personal opinion, what with Mouse Mats being given away as corporate gifts and turning up in their droves in all shapes and sizes, but as this one proves, it is sometimes ultimately better for you to have one a little better thought-out.

The first thing I noticed about this mouse mat was its non-slip backing, it seemed almost sticky and I was worried about using it on the arm of our leather sofa, so tried it for a very short period of time to make sure it did not damage the leather or stick too well, the mat was fine and did not effect the surface in anyway and was removed easily. This pad has a very good anti-slip backing!!The mat is comfortable to use and the wrist rest is just about right, the groove in the wrist rest does improve the comfort of the pad. My mouse glides nicely over the mat and does not stick or snag. An additonal bonus of the mouse pad is that it is embedded with Microban, so will stay germ free over time. The pad is of sufficient size and would fit in a laptop bag.Good mouse pad.

This latest freebie, courtesy of the ever splendid Vine programme, came at just the right time for me; moving my desk at the weekend, my old mouse pad slipped to the floor and the pad separated from the mat. No danger of this Fellowes product ever slipping off the desk, as the underside has a tacky non-slip coating. The mat itself is an ideal size, has an attractive velvety feel and the pad, whilst quite firm, has that ergonomic indentation in the middle and so feels very comfortable even after extended use.Hard to fault this product - certainly the best mouse pad I've ever owned.

I have not had the same problems as others have had with their laser mice, and so I have not issues with the functionality of the mat. It is a huge improvement from the foam thing that most work places supply. You only realise how badly you needed it when you get it!Also - the keyboard Followes Fabric partner mat is awesome too!Specifics:I agree with others - the memory foam is so much better than other gel mats - this is a premium feeling mat that does not move unnecessarily or cause excess heat/ sweating like the gel ones do.Stop hesitating and buy it!

I've never used a fancy mousemat like this before, infact I don't even use a mousemat anymore in these days of laser mice. I was pleasantly surprised when I recieved this at the high quality of this product. It's thick, and the material is good quality. The underside grips onto the desk brilliantly so the mat won't move around. The surface is very smooth and my laser mouse glides across it perfectly, no problems at all. The wrist support makes things extremely comfortable, and highly recommended for people who prefer/need wrist support when using a mouse mat.

If you're after a sturdy mouse mat that will grip tight to your desk and offer comfort and relieved strain even after long hours behind the computer, then this is it.The makers have used a gel like backing that once put on the desk will not slip around and sticks firmly in place. The padded wrist rest is a good height off the bottom surface and fits the wrist well. It's also a good size for mouse navigation even with the rest. Recommended for those after a quality and comfortable mat.

This is a great little pad, the mouse flows over it very smoothly and the raised area helps to reduce RSI for me - there is a groove in the raised area also that my wrist sits in when not moving. Doesn't sound much, but it's very comfortable over long periods of use.I have the pad on a glass table and once it's on there you have to physically lift it off to move it - the ultimate in nonslip! This is a good product, I think I'll also get one for work too :)

As the previous reviewer said - it's very comfortable but the surface is no good for laser mice. However, the way round this is to simply cut the mouse pad part off with a sharp pair of scissors. Done this with both my one at work and at home - the material doesn't fray too much and it works a treat. Makes it the best actual mouse-hand rest I've used. This is the memory foam version, not the gel one - Fellowes Fabrik Mouse Pad / Wrist Support Black

A very nice product - nice colour, texture, feel and good with my optical mouse. The channel in the middle of the wrist support is a very comfortable slot to rest your arm in, although I occasionally need to shake my hand to get the circulation going again fully - probably just a function of me spending too much time on the PC. Ideally, the support would be slightly softer then, but overall a good product.

This mousemat is comfy, it sticks to your desk so you don't have the problem of pushing your mat around with your wrist. I was going to give this 4 stars because of the price (almost £12 for a mousemat!?) but having used it my wrist doesn't ache as much as it did (and sometimes I can be using the computer for hours) so for that alone I would recommend this to anyone who uses a computer heavily.

With more of us having to be on the computer for long periods, it's important to ensure correct posture and use of our equipment. For me the Fellows mouse pad/wrist support is the first stop. Comfortable, with the added bonus of protecting wrists from strain and soreness, this enables longer and more enjoyable use.

I use it with my Logitech trackman and it is very comfortable. The microban finish adds that little extra and not just for those paranoid about germs !

good shape - slightly flared, non-slip and just what I wanted with the wrist support. Wrist rest is quite rigid though.
