This is my first EVGA card having always bought Asus as a rule and I love it.I chose this version as reading reviews it featured a number of refinements over earlier versions. It comes extremely well presented and in the box you get a few little goodies such as metal case badge, sli bridge and some molex adaptors. In hand the card feels very solid and robust. The plastic shroud feels top quality and it has a good weight to it.Installation was straight forward and I was up and running in no time. Now the refinements. It features a dual bios. One for cool and quiet where the fans turn off under 60c and a slightly more aggresive fan profile. I love that the fans turn off. It means when coding etc it is really quiet. That said the fans aren't noisey when gaming. Everything about this card is geared around cooling form the direct copper plate on the gpu to cooling of the memory chips and it pays off.EVGA customer service is good too. The warranty is renowned and I paid a small fee to boost my warranty to five years. It's also transferrable if you sell the card in future.I like that it has no led's etc and the card is a bit unassuming but I love understated power. The card is overclocked out the box and has a lot to give because of the awesome cooling involved. Handles BF4/SC2 at 1440p brilliantly and makes my pc ready for the occulus rift next year.

Originally ordered the GTX 970 SC, but when I saw EVGA released this version with improved ACX 2.0+ cooling, I sent the SC back and got this one instead. A bit confusing that EVGA have so many slightly different versions of their cards!I was a bit shocked to find it is about 2cm longer than the original SC card, but luckily I had enough room for it, and the SSC does run cooler when gaming. The SSC card also has dual-bios, and you can switch from one bios to the other with a flick of a switch on the card. I am not interested in overclocking, so this feature is not of much interest to me. The improved 6-phase power delivery system on the SSC does make a difference,as with the SC card I was getting some interference through my PC speakers when playing games, hard to describe but almost like you could hear when the card was working hard, but with the SSC I have not noticed thisEVGA are currently offering a free upgrade from the 3-year warranty to five years when you register a card with them, and they have a great reputation for support. Any GTX 970 will give you great results with all current games, so when choosing which one to buy the support and warranty offered should be an important consideration. Highly recommended.

The performance of this card is amazing! I'm a big EVGA fan and they have done it all right again with this card! The fans can get really noisy if they get above 60% but the cooling is so good that they rarely need to go that fast. Plus you can set the fan curves yourself in the Precision X tool that is free to download. This also provides a tool for over-clocking the card if you want to go down that road. Was VERY disappointed with delivery. Would have been 5 star otherwise. I was waiting in my house the entire day as I got next day delivery. But it never came. Then when i looked at the amazon app on my phone it said that delivery 'failed' and they would try again tomorrow.Very disappointing amazon.Other than the delivery the card itself is perfect for what i wanted. Probably not the best value for money card out there but the performance is brilliant. I am able to run GTA V on almost high settings at a constant 45fps! (my CPU and motherboard are a bit outdated now so this is causing a bottleneck- card is at around 40% usage and my cpu is 100%)Would recommend to anyone who cant quite afford the 10 series but wants a high performing GC!

A fantastic graphics card, Highly recommended. Points to note that may be hard to find out otherwise:- DON'T BE ALARMED if your fans on the card don't spin. The fans don't kick in until the temperature of the card reaches 60-65C (you can monitor the temperature using free software such as CPUID - I highly recommend this). This allows the card to draw more power from the system at lower tempratures.- IT COMES WITH A BACKPLATE INSTALLED! This is great as backplates can cost around £20 and you have to install them yourself if you buy it seperately.Overall a great card, I can play ARMA 3 with most settings in High-Ultra at an average of 40-55FPS, and the temperature of the card while doing so is maintained at approximately 70-74C.I expect to get this below 70C once I optimise the airflow and rate at which my case fans spin in the coming days.I highly recommend using software to stress test your card once it is installed, just to make sure there are no faults with it when it arrives (I use Furmark, free download, highly effective). Please do give this a +1 if it helped, feel free to ask any questions!

This is a great graphics card, but it will put demands on your PSU when playing games on full settings.I had problems with computer freezing or rebooting randomly. It was only doing this on graphic intensive games. Very frustrating as PC was fine with previous graphics cards.Long story short, after blaming the graphic card it turned out to be the PSU. And it was a decent PSU - a 750W OCZ that was at fault.I replaced this with a Corsair RC850 and PC is totally stable now and card can do its thing.I thought I'd post this review in the hope others might find it who are suffering with similar problems. The forums are full of posts about PC's freezing with this card in.I expect 50% are due to power supplies not being up to the job. Especially if you have a budget or stock PSU, don't even think about running with this card, you will have issues.

The first Nvidia card I've bought in a long time after being burned (literally, the last one caught fire) many years ago. As soon as I opened the box I knew I'd bought a quality product. It just has that reassuring 'feel' that you've bought something of quality. My PSU didn't have both of the necessary power connectors needed to run this card, but thankfully it came with a couple of Molex adaptors so I was able to jury-rig the second power connector using them.I've not pushed the card yet, mainly because I have very few games that would really stretch its capabilities. But it's been happily running a bunch of older games (circa 2010) at maxxed-out settings without even needing to turn the fans on.It's early days, but so far this seems to be a beautifully-engineered piece of kit that delivers everything it claims.

Great performance boost for my 2010 Mac Pro 5,1 - I had to make a few tweaks due to there only being 2 6 pin power supplies on the motherboard, this card requires a 6 and an 8 pin supply , some people go for 6 to 8 pin adapter which is a bit risky due to the larger power draw , I opted for a Sata to Molem cable which connected to the stock 8 pin cable supplied with the card which then provides power from a spare hard drive Sata feed . Works great , one point to note is that you dont get the boot screen on a Mac without the card being flashed . As an alternative I have kept my stock Nvidia card in the 2nd PCI e slot which connects to a mac cinema display which shows the boot screen during startup .The GTX 970 is feeding a 4K monitor . Just need to save up for the PCI SSD now !

This indeed is a lovely card. With the SSC flavour you get a nicely overclocked card that has good power management. the Mhz drops nice and low when in low power consumption mode but ramps up when needed and in fact seems to clock a little higher than the advertised speed. Its quiet as the fans kick in and gently ramps up when the card hits 60deg. I am running this alongside the AMD 8320 overclocked at 4Ghz. The graphics card hits at most around 72deg when running say BF4 full tilt. The graphics are beautiful & crisp in HD. BF4 looks to take just over 2GB of graphics card memory so plenty of headroom on board for modern games. A solid card with great cooling technology that should last for a while. You pay for what you get

If you are after a monster GPU for your rig at a reasonable price than this is it. At the moment price of this GPU has reduced quite a lot and I think its time to buy one of these so you can play nearly any game currently on the market at max setting at 1080p screen and at high setting at 1440p screen. I have played GTA V, Batman Arkham Night, Tomb Raider and many other great games with this GPU and they all played at or near maxed at setting at 1080p. While gaming its very silent too and the fans only turn on when the card temperature is around 60 Celsius so while not gaming fans dont spin at all.If you are in the market for a great powerful GPU that can handle 1080p extremely well that lookno further than this card.

Brilliant card for the money, can't grumble when I got Metal Gear Solid 5 : Phantom Pain for free so very good deal, card runs amazingly however the first one I received was a dead card but Amazon shipped out a replacement pronto. Mainly bought the card for The Witcher 3 as I was running a EVGA 750TI FTW so upgrading to a 970 is a massive improvement specially for The Witcher 3 as it is very demanding so currently at 1080p running 60+ at High / Ultra mixture in the settings, everything else I've thrown at the card has run maxed out with no issues to. Highly recommend it for anyone who wants to do 1080p gaming.

Love it. 3 times faster than my old gtx 570, makes no noise, fans are on hold when I idle or just use windows apps. This is Super Super Clocked version meaning better improved cooling system. I think on 970 FTW it is called SSC+ and here it's exactly the same improved design and all heatpipes touch the gpu. Bang for the buck as they say, it's gonna last easly for two-three years in 1080 resolution. Inside you get evga badge for your case, two large stickers, poster, molex to pci-e power connectors and dvi to vga adapter.

This product was delivered very quickly... and works perfectly. .I would recommend to anyone. In regards to how the graphics are it's perfect I have a 9800gtx in one system and a 970gtx in another and to be completely honest ther is no difference at all. .. The speed is the same the quality is the same. .. I would save your self some money don't go for the 980gtx go for 970gtx... I have tested this on battlefield 3 and 4 call of duty ghosts world of warcraft and many others with one card it's more than enough...

Awesome card. I bought this in order to power a 4k monitor. With the main intention for photo editing, I'm a casual gamer so a more powerful card was desired. I'm able to run all my games comfortably at high to highest settings at 4k. It's quite quiet too, a lot quieter than my old 560.Really happy with it.I should note that it does not support 10bit colour in a lot of professional applications (photoshop etc), that privilege is reserved for the quadro cards.

I've not found anything outside of Arma 3 that really puts it under strain. I'd complain about the 3.5GB of VRAM instead of 4GB, but I doubt most users will encounter problems with memory if they're gaming at 1080p or under. Despite not working as advertised it's still a powerful card, and more than worthy to replace my old GTX460.
